Chapter 141: Consuming the psychic energy

Just as Freya and Grey Hawk feared, the demonic energy of the Molten Demonblood Essence began to flow into Vlad’s body. For a normal human, even if they were High Champions, it would cause a series of deep and severe mutations, but that was not the case for Vlad.

A Depravita was born on a much higher evolutionary scale than demons, and the demonic energy could not transform his flesh and blood. The only thing it managed to do was increase vitality and power as it nurtured his body.

However, it was the next part that was truly dangerous. As the demonic energy of psychic nature flooded more and more of Vlad’s body, a strange and dark force began to make its way to his Soul Dimension and immediately fused into the Sea of Consciousness!

That dark force did not transform into Force Water; instead, the psychic force it carried began to spread across the Sea of Consciousness, generating a pulsing darkness that seemed to want to expand until all was consumed.

"Despair consumes... twisted visions... kill them all... you’re abandoned... embrace the chaos... lose control... agony surges... death is near..."

Suddenly, Vlad’s eyes widened as he began to hear whispers in his mind and immediately knew that the chaotic psychic force of the Abyss inside that demonic energy was trying to corrode his mind and ego.

Freya noticed the twitch in Vlad’s eyes and the sudden shock in them, immediately understanding it was the whispers of the Abyss’s chaotic will affecting him. Anger appeared on the young woman’s face, and she was ready to march in and forcefully bring out the young man when he did something that stunned her.

"Hahahahahahahaha, what a sweet lullaby!" Vlad burst into laughter as he heard those words. If there was a piece of his existence that was the most advanced in its path to the Depravita, it was his soul.

The chaotic will of the Abyss could not affect the part of his mind that belonged to his willpower. Of course, those constant whispers would be annoying, but Vlad knew he did not need to worry about them for long.

A sharp focus appeared in Vlad’s eyes as he forced his willpower to act. A few seconds after the corroding chaotic will of the Abyss’s energy began to spread, Vlad’s soul force reacted to the command of his willpower, suddenly setting ablaze and ravenously consuming all the pulsing darkness that had spread across his Sea of Consciousness.

Vlad did not take his eyes away from his Soul Dimension, and his smile widened with utter thrill as he saw how the soul force devoured the chaotic and negative psychic energy. A black stream of psychic energy began to rise to the ceiling.

"Yes! It worked!" Vlad could not control his thrill, shouting with pure delight upon seeing the black cloud formation above his Soul Dimension.

The first step in becoming a Depravita was performing the Origin Depravita Ritual, using Origin Force to trigger the spells, which allowed harnessing negative emotions and causing their body and soul to undergo the initial transformation. This process is excruciating, and someone with weak willpower or soul force would die in a second.

Upon completion, the practitioner gained the Depravita Racial Heritage, granting immense physical might and energy talent. However, that was just the first step in a long and harsh evolutionary process.

The second step was to further transform the practitioner’s body and soul using chaotic and negative psychic energy, enhancing their Depravita Racial Heritage. Unfortunately for Vlad, there were no sites containing that force in Terra, and he lacked the soul force to harness it from the surrounding environment.

Vlad had thought he would have needed to wait a long time for dark ley lines, blood battlefields, or powerful negative artifacts to naturally form in Terra, and that it would be years before he could push forward his Depravita evolution, but that was no longer the case.

’I came here for the Lightning Core but found something even more valuable!’ There was pure thrill in Vlad’s eyes as he gazed at the pool, knowing this could be of immense help not just for him but also for his entire power.

"Jormugandr, get inside. This will help our racial evolution. However, make sure to keep focus. We are resistant to the psychic chaotic force, but do not be careless," Vlad called out for the small yellow cat to get into the Molten Demonblood Essence pool. As for the fact that Freya and Grey Hawk heard his words, he was not worried.

The small yellow cat’s eyes narrowed as he heard those words, aware of just how beneficial this type of psychic force would be for him. However, a complicated expression appeared as he saw the liquid, "Ahhhh, why did it have to be a pool?"

Like all cats, Jormugandr did not like water. Of course, after a little annoyance, he got into the pool, and immediately a smile appeared on his face as he felt the chaotic psychic force being devoured by his soul force, improving his Depravita Racial Heritage and generating black fog in the ceiling of his Soul Dimension.

Vlad almost laughed at the expression the little yellow cat made when getting into the pool, then he smiled at the vikings before closing his eyes, focusing on harnessing the psychic chaotic and negative force from the pool of Molten Demonblood Essence.

Freya and Grey Hawk were perplexed as they did not understand what was happening. Demonic energy was one of the highest energy forms, and the chaotic will of the Abyss had incredible mind-corroding power, yet the young man and small cat submerged into the pool as if it were nothing. Even more shocking, the duo could feel how they were actually growing stronger!

In the end, the vikings only shrugged their shoulders. It was clear by now that Vlad and Jormugandr were in no danger, and they had things to do as well. Both adopted solemn expressions as they turned toward the corpse of the Lightning Abyssal Blood Elemental, as it was time to use it to improve their power.
