Chapter 128: Killing Snow Blood Golems (III)

Vlad’s eyes grew cold after kicking the leg of the Snow Blood Golem away. He was ready to slash the arms of the monster as well but stopped as he heard a warning from the A.I. Chip echoing in his mind. Without hesitation, he jumped back, putting distance between himself and the one-legged golem.

Just as Vlad did, the golem that lost one of its legs twisted as it flailed, its arms striking the ground where the young man had been standing a second ago. Despite its bulky body, the creature moved with uncanny dexterity when needed.

Freya’s eyes narrowed as she saw that, her wariness of the Snow Blood Golem rising. As she noticed two of them managing to get near her, she jumped back instead of confronting the duo simultaneously, appearing in front of Vlad as they prepared for the next charge.

The battle raged on, each second pushing the group to their limits, forcing them to display their skill and inhuman focus. Freya and Vlad fought side by side, hacking and shattering the bodies of the Snow Blood Golems, keeping them at bay and stopping them from getting near any of the spellcasters.

Jormungandr kept drawing energy from the storm and firing more and more Lightning Eagles that exploded into the lower extremities of the hulking golems.

Grey Hawk continued to support from a distance, freezing the pieces of the golems while channeling torrents of ice into the coagulated blood snow that covered the ground.

Fifteen minutes went on like that until the battle’s turning point came as a new wave of Lightning Eagles clashed amid the Snow Blood Golems.

"¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!"

The barrage was nothing new, and the hulking golems intended to heal their injuries and chase after the young man and woman.

However, things were not so simple anymore. A shocking realization assaulted the Snow Blood Golems. As they intended to heal using the coagulated blood snow to fix their bodies, they quickly realized that the area around them was already completely frozen!

Grey Hawk’s face was pale as he had been casting the Frozen Earth Spell this entire time, charging it with as much of his Magic and totemic energy as possible. Thanks to the old viking pushing himself to the absolute limit, the Snow Blood Golems could no longer regenerate any piece of their bodies!

A cold smile appeared on Vlad and Freya’s faces as they saw that, finally, the Snow Blood Golems had lost their ability to regenerate. Their bloodlust burst as they charged forward, accompanied by a barrage of Lightning Eagles and covered by torrents of frozen energy.

Five minutes later, the last of the Snow Blood Golems was shattered, its pieces frozen, stopping it from reassembling.

The Depravitas and vikings immediately regrouped after taking care of the golems, and once they saw that there was no threat left around them, they allowed their bodies and minds to relax.

Vlad had been pushing himself beyond his limits and could not help but fall to the ground from exhaustion. Freya was just as exhausted but was more graceful, sitting on the ground as she tried to regulate her breathing.

Jormungandr and Grey Hawk nearly fell unconscious as they relaxed their minds. The constant drain of their Magic had affected them, and they were having difficulty regaining their focus, but their abilities and vitalities made it so that the state would not last long.

Despite the physical and mental exhaustion, feeling like their muscles were torn due to the overstrain in the warriors and a severe headache in the spellcasters, the Depravitas and vikings all smiled as they had managed to take down the seemingly immortal Snow Blood Golems.

After resting and regaining strength, Vlad took out his cauldron and began to heat the food. The small yellow cat, Freya, and Grey Hawk looked at the stew like hungry beasts. The last battle might not have been very long, but it was extremely intense, and their bodies screamed for nourishment.

That feeling made the Depravitas and Vikings smile since the sense of hunger was not something they would normally feel due to their enhanced constitutions. The only reason it appeared with such strength was that their bodies and energy pools were striving for nourishment, as they were eager to improve.

There was no better crucible than the battlefield as it allowed your body and soul to explode with power, excavating your talent, and pushing you forward to the next level. The intense battles they had fought had tested their limits and forced them to tap into their hidden potential.

Of course, while the battlefield was the best tool to temper your existence, the number that broke in it and died was much higher than those that managed to rise and grow stronger.

The Depravitas and Vikings devoured pot after pot of the stew to the point that soon, there was nothing left. The cauldron was massive and should have been able to provide food for ten people for several days, but they finished it in less than an hour.

After that, all four adopted meditative stances as they began to harness the energy of the surroundings, satiating their energy pools and resting their minds at the same time. They remained like that for nearly three hours, focusing on their breathing and clearing their minds before finally feeling that they had satisfied the demands of their bodies. This was a crucial part of their recovery and screening process.

The smiles on the faces of the Depravitas and vikings grew even wider as they felt their increasing strength. However, it soon became somber as they focused on the mountain peak.

The zenith of the Nagan Mountain was covered in dark clouds, hiding their vision, but all of them could feel an extremely powerful presence there, along with a corrupting energy that permeated the air. The next fight would be the last, but it would also be the most dangerous one.
