Chapter 125: Avalanche
Chapter 125: Avalanche
Freya and Old Hawk had no idea what Vlad was trying to do, but Jormungandr recognized the runes that the young man inscribed in the demonic corpses. A flash of enlightenment appeared in his eyes as he stared at the thick layers of blood snow.
"Boss, are you really going to do that?" The small yellow cat spoke with a flash of worry. The plan was good and would handle the most problematic aspect of the Snow Blood Golems, but it was also very dangerous.
Vlad only smiled as he turned toward Jormungandr. "Guide them to a place that can endure what will come next."
Seeing the young man’s eyes full of confidence and conviction, Jormungandr said nothing more. He used the A.I. Chip to scan the surroundings for the right place before turning to the Vikings. "Come with me to be safe."
Freya and Grey Hawk were surprised and confused. They did not know what was happening or the young man’s plan, but he had never failed them up to this point, so they nodded to each other and followed Jormungandr.
It didn’t take long for Vlad to finish inscribing the Corpse Explosion Runes in the corpses. He then turned toward the trio and saw how they had taken cover behind a large rock structure enhanced by layers of ice.
’That should be more than enough,’ Vlad nodded before depositing the corpses in his space ring. He took a deep breath as he triggered Lightning Forged Charge, arcs of lightning covering his body and enhancing his speed.
"ZNNNN!"
The sound of the coagulated blood snow sundering echoed as Vlad flashed into the dangerous terrain packed with hidden monsters. His eyes were sharp, and he felt several presences focus on him as soon as he stepped in, but he did not hesitate or waste time. His eyes immediately moved through the terrain as he drove deeper.
[Beep! Bury the first explosive twenty-five meters to the left!]
Vlad’s eyes focused, taking one of the corpses and burying it into the blood snow. Immediately, he charged his body with lightning and flashed to the side.
Just as he did that, a Snow Blood Golem rose from the ground and lunged toward his previous location with overwhelming might. If the monster had grabbed Vlad and sunk him into the snow, his life would be over as he was sure that all the golems would gang up on him, and they had more than enough strength to keep him trapped.
Vlad flashed from one point to another, following the guide of the A.I. Chip as he buried the corpses in the indicated locations. He did not stop for even a second, always moving, remaining one step ahead of the Snow Blood Golems that were moving beneath the snow.
It was hard and pushed him to the limit, but a smile appeared on Vlad’s face as he placed the last corpse inside the blood snow. However, the next second, his smile froze, and shock appeared in his eyes as he felt a bloody and gnarled hand manage to grab his left leg!
The Snow Blood Golem was ready to yank Vlad into the snow, but the young man was prepared for this situation. The Inferno Comet Runic Set glowed, and in the next instant, his entire body was propelled into the air in a jet of demonic fire.
"AHHHHHH!" A scream of pain emerged from the Snow Blood Golem as the demonic flames incinerated its hand and part of its arm.
A cold smile appeared on Vlad’s face as he heard the golem’s scream of pain and kept rising into the air. A tiny rune on his palm glowed, triggering the explosions.
"¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!"
Dozens of explosions echoed across the mountain, and a shocking sight unfolded the next second. The countless tons of coagulated blood snow began to tremble violently, then cascaded down the mountain in a massive avalanche.
Vlad had expertly used the corpses to trigger this devastating chain reaction, sending tons of coagulated blood, snow, and everything within it hurtling down the slopes.
Jormungandr, Freya, and Grey Hawk were sheltered inside a fortification of rocks and ice. Shock and awe filled the eyes of the vikings as they witnessed the terrifying spectacle. The layers of coagulated blood snow surged downhill, an unstoppable crimson tide.
The avalanche was a gruesome mix of dark red snow and the Snow Blood Golems. As the coagulated blood snow tumbled, it became thinner and thinner, gradually revealing the huge, grotesque bodies of the golems hiding within. The sight was both horrifying and mesmerizing, a testament to the sheer power of the triggered avalanche.
The layers of coagulated blood snow continued to go downhill, growing thinner and thinner until the trio saw that they no longer hid the huge bodies of the Snow Blood Golems.
Although they had been inside the avalanche and trusted from one side to the other, the massive Snow Blood Golem had not received much damage. Focus soon appeared in their eyes as they looked around them.
"¡BOOM!"
The next second, a fiery figure clashed on top of one of the Snow Blood Golems, blasting the creature to pieces in a fiery explosion.
Vlad was obviously responsible for the explosion. The crash made his bones tremble, but since this time he did not enhance the fall with Lightning Forged Charge or the explosive might with his rage, he was able to endure it.
Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he focused on the pieces of the Snow Blood Golem. They began to move on their own, gathering the coagulated blood snow in their path as they intended to regenerate themselves. Had this been before, it would have been very easy and they could have performed the process under the cover of the thick layers of snow, but things were different now.
Diminishing the thickness of the snow pushed the Snow Blood Golems into view, but it also hindered their regenerating abilities, allowing Vlad to truly kill them!
