Chapter 141: Severe Punishment!
Chapter 141: Severe Punishment!
Once Sawyer opened the metal door, his butler, Paul, greeted him.
"Sir, welcome home. Mr. Sterling is already waiting for you in your study," Paul said.
Sawyer nodded and proceeded down the stairs to the third floor. "What time did he arrive?" he asked.
"An hour ago," Paul replied, following him to the stairs.
Sawyer sighed quietly. They should have returned earlier, but after saying goodbye to his grandpa, they had been held up for another thirty minutes. His grandpa didn’t want them to go home.
Noticing his master’s concern, Paul added, "Ethan is there to keep him company and chat."
Sawyer said nothing as he hurried to his office, dismissing Paul.
Upon entering, he found Ethan and Rowan seated on the sofa, seriously discussing a topic that did not interest him.
He cleared his throat softly as he walked in, prompting them to stop and immediately rise from their seats when they noticed his presence.
"Gentlemen, please have a seat," Sawyer said. He took off his jacket and placed it on the nearby seat before settling into the single sofa and looking at them.
"Are you sure you want to discuss this now, sir? You look exhausted. We can easily reschedule our meeting for tomorrow morning," Ethan said, concerned about Sawyer’s tired appearance.
"I’m fine," Sawyer replied briefly to Ethan, turning his attention to Rowan. "What’s the status of that case involving that damn guy? Have we made any significant progress?" he asked.
Sawyer hadn’t gotten any update from Rowan about the case all day, partly because Abigail had been with him after finishing her medical checkup, and he had asked Rowan to contact him for emergency only.
Although Sawyer knew Kian had failed to harm Abigail, he still wanted the man to face the harshest punishment possible.
Since last night, he had asked Ethan to investigate Kian’s other crimes. He had found evidence to ensure a more severe penalty.
"Yes, sir. We have made significant progress since our last conversation," Rowan said excitedly. "The police conducted an investigation today using all the evidence Evan provided. This evidence pertains not only to Miss Abigail’s case but also to another investigation. Don’t worry; in the next few days, Kian Blake’s status will change from suspect to perpetrator."
Rowan Sterling explained in detail what he and the investigators had accomplished.
Ethan also occasionally helped explain the findings from his investigation into Kian Blake’s crimes to Sawyer.
"This piece of trash is the master of a con artist! Many of his victims are young, wealthy women out there. He seduces them with his looks and skill to sleep with him. He records every time they do that without their consent, and he blackmails all his victims with the sex video. If they don’t give him money, he will spread their video on the black market."
"This Kian Blake is a monster!" Rowan Sterling added.
"Indeed! I have never met someone as vile as him. I feel sorry for Miss Abigail because she met such a person." Ethan sighed deeply as he clenched his hands into a tight fist, suppressing the urge to punch Kian Blake’s face.
After hearing their report, Sawyer’s expression gradually darkened, his hatred for Kian Blake intensifying. However, he refrained from voicing his anger and continued to listen to the updates.
"Sir, we have already contacted several of Kian Blake’s victims, and some have agreed to sue him, as we promised to assist them. I received news that ten victims have decided to proceed this afternoon," Rowan explained.
"You work so hard, Mr. Rowan. You are the best lawyer and most efficient..." Ethan smiled and gave him a thumbs-up in praise.
"Ethan, where have you been?" Rowan chuckled when he noticed Ethan frowning, seeming confused. "You only know I’m the best in this industry?" he continued, making Ethan laugh.
"Hahaha, I didn’t realize you had a sense of humor too, Mr. Rowan. I thought you were a serious person."
"With you, Ethan, yes... I can joke from time to time. But with people like Kian Blake, I just can’t..." Rowan’s expression turned serious again as he glanced at Sawyer, who seemed lost in his own thoughts.
Sawyer, who heard how evil Kian Blake was, could only grit his teeth angrily. He wanted to rush to find Kian Blake and beat him because he dared to touch Abigail.
After struggling to calm his mind, Sawyer looked at Rowan again and asked him to continue.
"Sir, if the number of victims increases, he could be facing a long prison sentence..." Rowan declared confidently. "Anything you want me to do, sir?"
"Please make sure that man will never see the light of the day and let him rot in prison. I want him locked away from people and society forever!" Sawyer said coldly, making Ethan shudder when he heard it. He had never seen his boss this angry, wanting to punish someone.
"Yes, sir. I will make sure he gets the harshest punishment." Rowan promised.
Rowan agreed with Sawyer. A man as evil as Kian Blake did not deserve to be in society. His actions were intolerable; how could he treat a woman like that?
They continued to chat for a while about various topics before Sawyer finally asked them to return to their homes. He sensed they were all exhausted, just like him. He hadn’t slept since the previous day and only wanted to lie in bed.
Sawyer walked them to the elevator, but Ethan did not follow Rowan inside. Instead, he waved at Rowan before the elevator doors closed.
"Why are you still here, Ethan? Go home! I don’t have the energy to talk to you," Sawyer said, frowning at Ethan, who just grinned in response.
"Boss, I’ll stay overnight. I want to meet my sister-in-law tomorrow. Please, please don’t kick me out of your house," Ethan pleaded.
Sawyer let out a deep sigh. He didn’t say anything but simply nodded before heading to his room. He was too tired to argue with Ethan, knowing that he would find a way to meet Abigail regardless.
"Thank you, Boss Sawyer! You’re the best and the most kind boss in the world!" Ethan shouted excitedly and happily as he ran down the stairs to the second floor.
