Chapter 123: Fly Back To Solhaven
"Son, where’s your mom?" Walter asked, ignoring his son’s displeased expression.
"In her room," Sawyer replied, pointing to the master bedroom. "She’s probably sleeping. She has been through so many medical tests today, Dad. Don’t try to wake her; she must be exhausted."
Walter Jones paused before the door and turned to look at Sawyer. He felt grateful that his son was there to keep his mother company when he couldn’t be. He gently tapped Sawyer’s shoulder and said, "Thank you for being here for her."
Sawyer didn’t respond, but he reacted with just a brief shrug.
"Oh, right! You’ll invite me to your wedding now I’m here, right?" Walter’s smile widened, pleased that his son hadn’t taken his name off the guest list.
Sawyer took a deep breath and clenched his hand tightly around his phone, thoughts of Abigail flooding back to him. A few more minutes passed, but Brody hadn’t given him any news, which deepened his worry.
"Dad, is your jet still at the airport, or has it returned to Solhaven?" Sawyer asked. He needed to rush back to check on Abigail; otherwise, he might go crazy if he stayed here without knowing what happened to her.
"They’re going to wait until we get back. Why?" Walter Jones raised an eyebrow slightly.
Sawyer felt a wave of relief wash over him at the thought of using his father’s private jet. His own Gulfstream jet was not ready, and he thought he had no time to waste. His father’s jet was still at the airport, and he believed the crew was still there. It was the perfect opportunity for him to hurry back and check on Abigail.
"Can you please ask them to fly me back to Solhaven now? I need to see Abby. Something happened to her," Sawyer replied, his voice filled with worry. This was the first time he was asking his father for help.
Walter was taken aback by Sawyer’s request for help and surprised to hear the girl’s name. Although he was confused and curious about what had happened to his future daughter-in-law, he postponed his questions and turned to his butler, Allen.
"Please call them and have everything prepared. My son needs to fly there immediately," Walter instructed hurriedly.
"I will do that now, sir," Allen replied, nodding slightly, before leaving the room after placing a suitcase near the master bedroom.
"So, my future daughter-in-law’s name is Abby?" Walter asked happily as he led Sawyer to sit on the sofa.
Sawyer was surprised by his father’s question. He didn’t expect to mention Abigail’s name to his father.
Concerned that his father might uncover Abigail’s true identity, Sawyer quickly made an excuse to avoid further discussion. "I can’t just sit here, Dad. I need to pack my things... I have to rush to the airport!"
"There’s no need for that, my son. I will ask Allen to pack for you, and I will bring your suitcase later," Walter replied, amused by his son’s apparent attempts to avoid him.
Sawyer nodded. He couldn’t refute his father’s words. Still, sitting with him was not an option.
"I need to ask Mom for permission," Sawyer said before quickly leaving his father and walking to his mother’s bedroom. He knocked lightly on the door and asked, "Mom, are you still awake? Can we talk?"
Not long after, the bedroom door opened. Hannah Walker, already dressed in her violet evening silky gown, looked at her gloomy son with confusion. Her heart raced with worry, fearing that something might be wrong.
"What is it, son? Did something terrible happen to you?" Hannah’s voice trailed off when she noticed her husband had arrived.
"Walter, you’re coming! Why didn’t you call me first? If you had, I could have prepared the foods you like." She smiled as she fit herself into his warm embrace.
"My dear wife, I wanted to call you, but our son scolded me along the way," Walter replied, tightening his embrace.
"Scold you?" Hannah asked, looking up to meet her husband’s gaze before turning to their son. She smiled at him and asked, "Sawyer, why did you scold your father? Did he disregard your advice again? Is that why you scolded him?" She found it amusing; her son never seemed to have a peaceful conversation with his father.
"No, Mom..." Sawyer sighed faintly. He didn’t have time to witness the sweet exchange between his father and mother; he needed to leave now. "Mom, I need to return to Solhaven. Something has happened to my girlfriend—"
Sawyer continued to explain that something was wrong with Abigail, although he wasn’t exactly sure what. That’s why he needed to fly back immediately to check on her. He also expressed that he couldn’t remain calm in this place, waiting for news.
Hannah Walker was shocked to hear that. She no longer held her son back but instead urged him to go. She was genuinely worried that something terrible had happened to her future daughter-in-law.

Once Sawyer’s car arrived at the airport, he called Brody, but the response he received only heightened his anxiety.
"Sir, we still can’t find Miss Abigail," Brody said.
"Continue what you’re doing now; I’ll call Ethan!" Sawyer replied before ending the call. He then contacted Ethan and asked him to check the CCTV footage near the café.
Before the jet departed, Ethan called back to inform Sawyer that Abigail had been arrested by the police, of which Brody was unaware. This was why Brody hadn’t seen when Abigail left the café.
A wave of dread hit Sawyer upon hearing the news of Abigail’s arrest. He quickly instructed the cabin crew to inform the pilot to delay their departure for a few minutes, as he needed to discuss an important matter with Ethan.
"Sir, I will access all the CCTV inside and around the café now," Ethan said.
"Yeah, go ahead. But Ethan, you need to be careful. Crimson Leaf Café is not a small company." Sawyer expressed his concern. "They might have capable people to guard their company and might trace you back."
"Sir, did you forget, or do you not know?" Ethan replied with a chuckle.
"Forget what?" Sawyer asked, feeling confused.
"Sir, Crimson Leaf Café is part of the Silverstone Group. It falls under their Food and Beverage division," Ethan explained.
"Really?" Sawyer was surprised to hear that. He needs to read more business news.
"Yes, sir! I have unlimited access to their CCTV servers, and I can access them right now. There’s no need to worry; they’re my responsibility," Ethan assured him.
"Good! I will fly back to Solhaven and may not have internet access because this is my father’s jet. Please arrange everything with Brody and call Rowan as well. Make sure he takes care of Abby during my absence. I’ll arrive in three hours!" Sawyer instructed.
"Sure, sir! No need to worry. I’ll handle everything here," Ethan replied.
"And call Vincent back to the capital. I need him later to guard Abby!" Sawyer commanded before he hung up and turned off his cell phone.
Sawyer wants to prevent Abigail from experiencing another incident like this. He needs Vincent, his confidant, to accompany her when he cannot be with her.
