Chapter 90: The End of the Monster Incident

Jun Wu Xiao and Yue Guang had now returned to the Kunlun mountains. He brought her to the cave and said:

"You should be fine now that you’re alone, right?"

Yue Guang nodded, she had no issues being alone. However, because the capital was quite cramped and damaging things there would be troublesome, she had returned to the Kunlun mountains.

"Of course, there’s no problem. Besides, except for monsters, there’s hardly anything that can pose a real danger to me. If you have things to do, just go ahead, don’t worry about me." she said.

Jun Wu Xiao asked just to be sure, but he already knew she would be fine. After all, they had fought alongside each other for so long that they understood each other’s abilities well.

"Alright, then I’ll go collect the monster cores now." Jun Wu Xiao said.

He then headed back to the capital. The journey didn’t take long, and there were still many monster cores left in the capital.

.....

At this time, Chu Wu and the others were in a secluded area near the capital to cultivate. Suddenly, Jun Wu Xiao’s arrival caught their attention. Chu Wu asked:

"Why are you here?"

Jun Wu Xiao nodded and said:

"Yes, Xia Ni asked me to have everyone split up to guard the coastline from the west, south, and east to prevent monsters from the three other continents from invading the mainland."

"Alright, it won’t interfere with my cultivation anyway." everyone nodded in agreement.

Seeing no objections, Jun Wu Xiao added:

"Remember to spread out. It won’t work if everyone stays in one place."

Chu Wu snorted at this:

"Hmph, do you think we’re children who wouldn’t know how to handle such a small matter?"

"Ah, I was just making sure. Just don’t let the monsters get deep inland. I think we only need to guard for about five years, then we can go wherever we want." Jun Wu Xiao said.

"Alright, no problem. Five years isn’t long, and it won’t hinder our cultivation." Sheng Yuan said.

"Good, then I’ll head off. You all can divide the positions among yourselves." Jun Wu Xiao said, then ran off to the storage place for the monster cores.

There was a large warehouse containing several hundred monster cores, and there were also guards outside to keep watch.

When Jun Wu Xiao arrived at the warehouse entrance, the soldiers immediately stepped aside to let him in. This was not surprising, as the warehouse was connected to him and his friends, so the guards naturally knew who they were.

"You don’t need to guard this place anymore. The emperor has instructed me to move all the monster cores here to a safe location. There’s a chance they could have a negative impact on civilians." Jun Wu Xiao said.

The guards did not object. They couldn’t do anything about it anyway, so they said:

"Alright, we’ll go do other tasks."

The soldiers then left, leaving Jun Wu Xiao alone. Looking at the pile of monster cores scattered around the warehouse, he thought:

"There are quite a lot. I probably can’t carry them all at once. But since the distance isn’t too far, it shouldn’t be a problem."

Actually, it’s not that it’s not too far, but because he now has a very fast running speed, that distance is no longer a problem.

There was a large net available, and he placed a bunch of monster cores in the net, then headed back to the Kunlun mountains.

After some time, he arrived and thought:

"Now, where should I store these monster cores?"

After thinking for a moment, he decided to go deep into the Kunlun mountains, a place difficult for people to reach, and stored all the monster cores in a cave there.

He then made several more trips back and forth until he had transported all the monster cores from the capital to the Kunlun mountains.

Once he had gathered all the cores from the capital, Jun Wu Xiao thought:

"Now that all the monster cores from the capital have been moved to the Kunlun mountains, where should I go next?"

He pondered for a moment and decided to head straight to the extreme north. He wasn’t wandering aimlessly, he wanted to clean up the extreme north first, while his friends guarded the west, south, and east.

He believed that after he arrived, there would likely be more cores from monsters coming from the three other continents.

For the next year, he wandered around looking for monster cores. By this time, he had cleaned up most of the areas.

Although monster cores are small in size, they are not impossible to detect. While ordinary people might not sense them, cultivators could always feel something unique about them, a negative uniqueness.

So when that feeling appeared, it meant there was a monster core in the area he was in.

"Now, only the coastal areas to the west, south, and east remain. Let’s move quickly." Jun Wu Xiao said.

He then immediately dashed towards the western coast. During this time, he didn’t neglect his cultivation. After all, running at high speed could be considered cultivation as well.

After some time, Jun Wu Xiao finally reached the western endpoint. He collected monster cores there until the net was full and then prepared to return.

While collecting, he spotted a familiar figure—his younger brother, Chen Wo Lun. Seeing him, Jun Wu Xiao ran over to greet him.

"Brother, everything going well?" he asked.

"Everything is fine. But the recent movements of the monsters have been a bit different. I haven’t seen any monsters for several months now," Chen Wo Lun replied.

Hearing this, Jun Wu Xiao pondered for a moment and said:

"Perhaps it’s because there are no more monsters in this area. Xia Ni once mentioned that the total population across the three other continents is only about a hundred million. Naturally, the number of monsters they face is less than what we deal with here."

Chen Wo Lun nodded. He wasn’t aware of the specifics of the other three continents, so he initially found it strange. But now that he understood, it made sense. Over time, he had come to understand the distribution of monsters.

Monsters were distributed based on the population and strength of each area. Where there were cultivators, there would be strong monsters accordingly, and places with larger populations would also have more monsters.

"So, should I continue staying here or do something else?" Chen Wo Lun asked.

Jun Wu Xiao thought for a moment, then shook his head and said:

"We can’t be sure yet. Stay here for another four years, then return to the Kunlun mountains with me. As for the exact location, just wander around and you’ll find me. I usually cultivate outdoors. Also, if you find any new monster cores, remember to gather them and bring them back to the Kunlun mountains."

Chen Wo Lun nodded, four more years wouldn’t be a problem. Besides, the situation was still uncertain.

"Alright, four years from now, I’ll head to the Kunlun mountains." he said.

"See you then." Jun Wu Xiao replied with a nod.

He then ran along the coastline towards the south. On his way, he encountered Sheng Yuan and Chu Wu. They chatted briefly before he continued on his way.

He continued his journey for several more months, eventually finding all the monster cores on the continent (at least for the time being, as he wasn’t sure if new cores would come from the other three continents).

Jun Wu Xiao was now in the Kunlun mountains, looking at the pile of monster cores before him. He thought:

"There are so many. But what can these be used for? These cores are incredibly hard. Even if I tried to break them, they wouldn’t crack. Other than being hard, they don’t seem to have any other use. Well, I’ll just leave them for now. Maybe in the future, I’ll find a way to use them."

He then left the area and began to cultivate. He rarely visited the place where he stored the monster cores. He didn’t guard it, thinking that in such a remote area, no one would come. Unless someone used a hot air balloon, there was no reason for anyone to land there.

But just to be sure, he brought a large stone to block the cave entrance. The cave wasn’t very large, so he could do this easily.

Time passed, and now it had been nine years since then. Five years ago, Chen Wo Lun and Feng Shuang had come to the Kunlun mountains, while Chu Wu and four others had returned to the capital.

They hadn’t brought any new monster cores, which meant that the monsters had been completely eradicated since Jun Wu Xiao’s journey along the coast.

They split into two groups for a reason—they wanted to stay close to each other so that if something similar to the monster invasion happened again, they could quickly meet to discuss and take action.

Moreover, the Kunlun mountains were centrally located, making it easy to travel to other places. The capital couldn’t be abandoned either, as it was the heart of the Human Kingdom, so it made sense for some to stay there.
