Chapter 31: Dao San Qian vs Yue Guang
Chapter 31: Dao San Qian vs Yue Guang
On the mountain slope, large rocks lay scattered beneath the shadows of ancient trees, which concealed the sky along with a tranquil space. But now, in this quiet place, two figures were preparing to shatter the calm.
Dao San Qian and Yue Guang were both rushing forward, though Dao San Qian’s movements were indeed a bit unsmooth. After all, it was no surprise since he had never truly fought before.
Instinctively, he threw a punch straight towards Yue Guang’s head, and she countered with a punch aimed at his head. However, she didn’t stand upright like him but ducked down at the moment of her strike.
"What? She dodged it." Dao San Qian thought, now somewhat flustered, not knowing what to do next.
His punch missed her, while his face met with her returning punch. Fortunately, his natural talent wasn’t bad, and in that instant, he tried to jump backward to minimize the damage.
Even so, he ended up crashing into a tree, causing it to shake violently. Yue Guang didn’t give him a chance to recover, understanding that this was a serious fight, not just a playful skirmish. She immediately charged at him and delivered a kick to his stomach.
"Damn, I feel dizzy now." Dao San Qian thought.
At this point, he was dizzy from the blow, his nose bleeding, and he felt a sharp pain—perhaps his nose was broken. But he didn’t have time to worry about this. This injury was still within the range he could endure. Trying to see through his dizziness, he barely saw her charging at him again and quickly fell to one side to dodge the attack.
Yue Guang’s kick hit the tree instead, breaking it. Dao San Qian rolled on the ground, trying to distance himself from her.
"Maybe it’s better to defend for now since I don’t know how to attack effectively." Dao San Qian thought, deciding on his strategy.
By now, his dizziness had somewhat subsided, and his eyes focused on Yue Guang, deciding to temporarily stick to defense since he didn’t know how to effectively attack.
Jun Wu Xiao, observing their fight, thought to himself:
"This guy reacts pretty well, he definitely has talent. It’s just that he’s not used to this type of combat, so he seems a bit clumsy."
Yue Guang missed and felt a bit surprised. She thought that Dao San Qian was stunned by her and wouldn’t be able to react in time.
But as a professional, she knew better than to allow any emotion but calmness in battle.
Yue Guang swiftly turned around and continued her onslaught, while Dao San Qian was now in a defensive posture. He steadied his breath, focusing intently on her movements.
Yue Guang raised her right arm and threw a punch straight at Dao San Qian’s face. However, his next move took both Yue Guang and Jun Wu Xiao by surprise. He extended his left hand and caught her punch with his palm, not stopping it completely but using the force to spin around and deliver an elbow strike towards Yue Guang’s jaw.
Although she was slightly shocked by this maneuver, she reacted quickly, raising her left arm to block. Her forearm cracked under the impact but did not break.
The attack did not succeed, but that was not the end. Taking advantage of the recoil acting on his elbow, Dao San Qian spun in the opposite direction. In that moment, he pulled back his left arm and launched a hook punch straight at Yue Guang’s face.
Due to the momentum of her own strike and the recoil she had just experienced, she couldn’t pull back in time to block. She was sent flying about five meters and landed on the ground then spitting blood.
"I can’t believe I was hit like that. But just that won’t be enough for him to defeat me." she thought.
Seizing the opportunity, Dao San Qian struck her down with his heel. Earlier it had been him who had to roll away to dodge, but now it was Yue Guang’s turn.
It took her a while to stabilize herself. But the gap in their realms was still a formidable barrier to overcome. Her physical strength, power, and speed were all superior to Dao San Qian. Even though he managed to hit her, the reaction force still injured him.
Jun Wu Xiao, who had been watching the fight from the start, found it quite interesting. He thought:
"The reactions and actions of that guy truly surprised me, but that’s good. Though it’s clear he’ll lose this time, he’s gained a lot from it. With such talent, he might have a chance to pursue his Path. Ha ha, none of my friends are ordinary, and certainly none are mediocre."
After several hours of relentless fighting, the outcome was as Jun Wu Xiao had predicted. Dao San Qian was knocked unconscious while Yue Guang also sustained injuries. Though her injuries were not minor, they were not severe either. She could still move normally, and she could continue fighting.
Their injuries this time were not as severe as the first time Yue Guang fought with Jun Wu Xiao, when his overconfidence and underestimation had led to him being hit many times. However the subsequent fights had outcomes similar to the one between Yue Guang and Dao San Qian.
Jun Wu Xiao walked over to where Yue Guang was resting, he said:
"You really didn’t get hurt much. The first time we fought, you beat me quite badly."
"Ha ha, didn’t I learn that from someone? Someone who was overconfident and underestimated his opponent then got seriously injured by a weaker person." Yue Guang laughed as she replied.
Hearing this, Jun Wu Xiao’s face darkened, but he couldn’t deny it because it was indeed his mistake at the time. He sighed:
"Haiz, that was indeed a mistake of mine. But could you please not talk about that to others in the future?"
Yue Guang looked at him, knowing he was just talking nonsense because even if she told the whole world, he wouldn’t really do anything to her. She smiled and said:
"Ha ha, that depends on how sincere you are."
Jun Wu Xiao was slightly surprised by her response, he asked:
"Oh, what can I do to show my sincerity?"
Yue Guang thought for a moment and then said:
"Ah, fighting has made me tired, I can’t walk anymore. How about you carry me back to the cave?"
A question mark appeared in Jun Wu Xiao’s mind – he couldn’t believe that she couldn’t walk. Given her current condition, she could probably defeat another Dao San Qian if needed. But if she wanted to play around, he was willing to play along:
"Alright, stay there, I’ll carry you back."
