Chapter 189: Frey Glacius

Cedric swiftly reacted to Alice’s terrifying assault that had just been launched.

Bang!

The light from the sparks of the collision illuminated a vast area. Even the spectators nearby were momentarily blinded by the sudden burst.

Nora unconsciously gulped and thought to himself:

"I didn’t expect the destructive power to be this overwhelming, especially when humanity’s combat strength is still so weak. I can’t even imagine how powerful our enemies will be in the distant future."

Even as he tried to remain calm, he couldn’t suppress the growing urgency inside him.

As the smoke and dust gradually dispersed, the two figures locked in battle began to reappear in the eyes of the spectators.

At this point, only a few lingering flames clung to Alice’s arm - it was no longer as terrifying as before. She stood still, eyes fixed on the nearly bisected metal ring.

Sweat beaded on Cedric’s forehead. The earlier strike had truly pushed him to his limits. Her attack didn’t feel like a mere sparring match at all.

He retracted the heavily damaged piece of metal, glanced at her, and spoke boldly:

"Strong attack—but unfortunately, it didn’t do much."

It was only now that the smoke had almost completely cleared, and the crowd gasped as they took in the sight of the battlefield.

The ground was sliced in a long, straight line, scorched black along its edges. Even a quick glance was enough to understand the terrifying power behind Alice’s strike.

"Am I seeing this right? Did she really cause that?" a man exclaimed in shock.

The others remained silent. In that moment, they all felt unusually small—like ants that could be crushed at any moment.

But Alice paid no attention to how they judged her. After all, the perspective of ordinary people was vastly different from hers.

She turned toward her opponent, her face full of disdain, and scoffed:

"Hmph, you think I was seriously trying to kill you just now? If I had been serious, you’d be far more injured by now."

Upon hearing that, Cedric immediately cursed in his mind:

"Damn it! That last attack could’ve sliced me clean in half! And she still dares to say she was holding back?"

Though that’s what he thought, his words said otherwise:

"Since you’ve attacked already, then watch as I go all out!"

With that, his figure shot forward like the wind. It was hard to believe someone with such a tall, bulky frame could move so fast.

Alice narrowed her eyes and charged toward him as well. Flames began to ignite under her feet with every step she took.

Cedric noticed it too. His eyes flicked downward, and he muttered:

"Iron Spike!"

Unlike before, this time he didn’t throw anything. Instead, several metal rods scattered at her feet suddenly transformed into sharp spikes and lunged at her.

Alice flinched slightly but quickly reacted. Flames engulfed her legs as she spun and delivered a powerful kick.

Her fiery kick created a burning arc around her, smashing the incoming spikes.

Crack!

The sharp spikes shattered under her kick. Without stopping, she pressed the attack.

"Fire Kick!"

Her flame-charged kick sliced through the wind as it hurled toward Cedric. He swiftly summoned metal to cover his entire body, forming a suit of armor.

Bang!

The fire exploded from her strike, engulfing his whole body. Cedric, now resembling a blazing fireball, was launched backward—straight toward the bank building behind him.

"Ahhh! Everyone, scatter!"

The hostages inside screamed and fled in panic as they saw the massive fireball hurtling straight toward them.

Boom!

Cedric, like a blazing fireball, crashed into the bank wall, blasting a massive hole through it.

Of course, this was because the construction team had only built a regular wall. If it had been a wall from the Hero Association, it would’ve easily withstood the impact.

From within the rubble, Cedric slowly stood up, coughing:

"Cough, cough..."

Aside from a few scorch marks, he wasn’t seriously injured.

Veins bulged on his forehead as he glared at Alice and cursed:

"Damn it! That hit was even harder than the last one—you’re seriously overdoing it!"

He was clearly pissed now. His palms opened, and several metal orbs appeared one after another, rotating around him.

Raising his hand to the sky, he guided the metal orbs as they soared into the air.

The orbs began to shift shape. Alice narrowed her eyes and muttered:

"What now? Planning to turn me into a porcupine?"

As she spoke, a fireball formed in her hand. She raised her arm, and the fireball continued to grow in size.

At the same time, Cedric’s metal orbs transformed into long, sharp rods—like giant arrows.

Facing a sky full of deadly projectiles, Alice held up what looked like a miniature sun—the massive fireball blazing in her palm.

The spectators nearby were starting to realize things were getting out of hand.

"Uhh... maybe we should back up a little?"

"Great idea! Let’s move, now!"

"Stop dawdling, or we’re not gonna make it!"

...

Prompted by the shouting, the crowd quickly began retreating further away from the battlefield.

Of course, Nora was no exception. With his heavily injured body, he wasn’t much different from an ordinary person at this point.

"Rain of Arrows!"

"Mini Sun!"

Two voices rang out softly, and the atmosphere instantly shifted. Two terrifying attacks, guided by their respective wielders, launched straight at each other.

But just then—something unexpected happened. Everyone suddenly felt as if a massive cloud had appeared above them.

"What’s going on? Clouds out of nowhere?"

"Doesn’t seem right... there’s no strong wind."

"Ah! Look up at the sky!"

...

As they turned their eyes skyward, they saw an enormous chunk of ice suspended in midair. And worse—it was plummeting toward the ground at an alarming speed.

"Ice Meteor!"

A soft voice echoed from the top of a nearby building.

Boom!

All three attacks collided at once, unleashing a thunderous explosion. Violent gusts of wind surged outward in all directions.

Shards of ice, fragments of metal, and waves of heat scattered everywhere.

Alice looked up at the building next to the bank and called out:

"Frey, what are you doing here?"

A figure appeared atop the rooftop. He descended smoothly along the wall and leapt down, landing amidst the stunned gazes of everyone nearby.
