Chapter 453: 0453 Exhalation_1
She thought Ellen Young would at least try to cover it up.
But to her surprise, Ellen was just as direct.
Then again, what was there to hide? After all, it was just two people dating, nothing disgraceful about that.
Besides, Ruffy Smith was indeed quite a catch.
Lucy Wood sincerely wished her well, "I wish you happiness, as long as you’re happy, that’s what matters."
Ellen "mhm-ed" in response and casually asked, "How are you feeling now?"
Lucy fell from the live broadcast and returned to Imperial City to recuperate. Ellen knew about her concussion, but wasn’t sure how Lucy’s own health was faring.
Lucy immediately replied, "I’m fine, my body has almost fully recovered, and I’m not dizzy anymore."
But the doctor insisted it wasn’t safe yet and recommended she continued to rest.
Her rest was uneventful, and she called the crew; the director plainly told her to rest until she was completely well, especially since the boss funding them wasn’t in a hurry, so why should he, the director, be?
When the female lead had an accident, of course, the priority was to accommodate her.
Ellen: "That’s good to hear."
Lucy laughed, then suddenly remembered something, "Do you know Clyde Wilson had an accident?"
Ellen replied, "Clyde Wilson? Oh, what happened to him?"
She wasn’t really concerned about him; it was just that when Lucy got into trouble a while back, some fans stirred up trouble and dragged Clyde into it. The whole thing blew up, but whether it was resolved or not, Ellen didn’t care. After all, he was just a stranger with no connection to her.
Lucy whispered, "All his dirty laundry has been aired out, and it seems someone beat him up too. He’s in the hospital now, no clue who did it."
She said this to gauge Ellen’s reaction because the fans online were attacking Lucy viciously, using all sorts of abusive language. Though Lucy’s fans weren’t much better, the ensuing public fracas was ugly.
At first, Lucy thought it was Ellen who had sorted Clyde out. Sensing the implication in her words, Ellen said, "I don’t know anything about that."
"I see."
Lucy felt subtly perplexed. She had thought Ellen couldn’t stand by and had someone deal with Clyde...
Now that she thought about it, it did seem rather presumptuous.
After hanging up, Lucy sighed, "I had thought it was Ellen who had helped vent my anger."
Felicia Frost rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed, "With your IQ," she said, "I think that no matter what, Ellen would never resort to such measures. From what I’ve heard, Clyde was beaten by the husband of a female star he got involved with. He had it coming. You see how his fans are still attacking you online? They’re clueless about the current state of things."
Lucy asked, "All that dirt on him got exposed?"
Felicia confirmed, "Of course it’s all come out. Several female stars were behind it. We don’t have to muddy the waters; just watching from the sidelines is enough. Those revelations are sufficient to bury him."
Even with others’ dark secrets, it was possible to spin things around, but with Clyde, it was a case of kicking a man while he was down, everyone eager to hammer the final nails in his coffin.
No matter how you looked at it, taking resources to climb the ladder and then kicking aside those who helped you was taking things too far.
Unless one was completely irrational, any fan with a shred of logic would unfollow in a heartbeat.
Clyde’s side was in total chaos, with the scandal alienating the fans of several female stars. Those that had hyped up CPs with him were now desperate to distance themselves the minute they learned of Clyde’s true character. Forget about the program compensating him; he was now struggling to hold on to the resources he had left.
