Chapter 429: 0429 Mr. James Moore_1

The circle had no shortage of celebrities who despised Clyde Wilson’s fans.

Most of them were female stars, an inherently awkward position. If their status wasn’t strong enough and they got involved with Clyde Wilson, and wanted to hype up a couple pairing, well, sorry, that would depend on whether his fans agreed or not.

Even without hyping things up, if post-collaboration, any photo or interaction emerged, ill-intentioned people could cause Clyde Wilson’s fans to come after you, cursing your entire family.

To them, Clyde Wilson was the light of their hearts, the idol of the universe—who was worthy to date their beloved brother?

Any association was seen as an insult.

Those in the circle with no intention of stirring up drama would still get scolded just for collaborating, so when Clyde Wilson’s fans experienced backlash this time, getting into trouble with the much more prominent Lucy Wood, and looking completely outmatched, it was quite a sight for the spiteful.

There were even those who thought the fans’ commotion wasn’t big enough, so they dredged up the old gossip about Clyde Wilson cheating on his girlfriend back in the day, and his leveraging of her to climb the social ladder, muddying the waters even further.

Even after so many years, there were always people who remembered those days.

Whatever the truth in the revelations, they definitely stirred the pot.

Lucy Wood was transferred to Imperial City on the second day and immediately received the online news. Clyde Wilson had just settled compensation matters with the program team when this major incident unfolded. Now, overwhelmed with troubles, it was doubtful that even the full mobilization of the PR team could settle this matter smoothly.

Especially now that Lucy Wood had Ellen Young’s backing. Not to mention if Ellen Young didn’t know, even Clinton White would probably help to take care of it if she saw it.

Ellen Young, having returned home the day before, hadn’t paid much attention to the online turmoil, and no one else would bother her with it either.

Knowing that Lucy Wood had returned to Imperial City, Ellen continued her research in the countryside.

After replacing Michael’s chip, he became much more agile.

Now he could search for various terms from Wanton’s smart library to answer the questions posed by Ellen. Sometimes he could engage in simple Q&A with her, and, as a mechanical robot, there were moments when he seemed no different from an ordinary person.

His response capability was about that of a small child, albeit some of his answers still came across as stiff.

Despite this, Ellen felt quite satisfied with the progress.

Given enough time, she was certain to make breakthroughs in AI technology.

Ruffy Smith was absent today, unusually so. Ellen didn’t ask, but Damien Frost approached her and explained that Ruffy had been called away in the middle of the previous night, apparently due to some matter in Imperial City; his father had required him to return immediately.

Ellen wasn’t particularly concerned, but noticing her lack of reaction, Damien added, "It seems related to the girl you met at the hospital yesterday, her name is Roxanne Moore."

Ellen looked curiously at Damien, "Related to that girl? She’s from Imperial City?"

He nodded, "I only received the news this morning. You may not be familiar with Roxanne Moore, but you should know Mr. James Moore."

James Moore was a common name, but the Mr. James Moore that Damien specifically mentioned was truly noteworthy.

His brothers had been soldiers who had made significant contributions to the country. Mr. James Moore, in his youth, was a businessman who had provided significant help to some of Imperial City’s elite, so his status was anything but ordinary.

Ellen knew of him because she had once attended his birthday banquet with Sidney Addison.

With this in mind, her expression showed rare surprise, "Could it be that she’s Mr. James Moore’s granddaughter?"
