Chapter 409: 0409 Scratch_1
Felicia Frost couldn’t possibly say anything at this moment; she could only smile and pretend she didn’t hear.
After all, the series of qualifications that Ellen Young had was already stimulating enough for others; now, knowing that she was also the BOSS of Wanton Group, would probably cause an inner uproar of emotional imbalance—tears and sobs, perhaps—
Oh, had they not cried enough already, or did this matter even make a difference?
The agent’s question was met with no response, and he didn’t feel there was anything amiss at the moment. After all, it was obvious that Ellen Young had connections with Wanton Group; knowing she developed the Nuwa chip was one thing, perhaps having a close partnership, but the idea of her being the BOSS of Wanton was too outrageous for anyone to seriously contemplate.
After all, Ellen Young was a woman who could live off her patents; she could have simply sold the patent to Wanton Group.
Amid everyone’s confusion, Ellen Young had already installed a new chip in Michael.
This was, of course, not the Nuwa chip but a different type of simple chip akin to a rapid processing program, created just to update Michael.
After securing Michael’s head and installing the chip, all that was left was to turn on the power.
If Michael weren’t a robot, this scene might seem a bit eerie.
Once the switch on Michael’s body was flipped on, it made no other movement, just a stiff robotic twitch to indicate it was waking up again.
This time it didn’t open with the familiar "Have you eaten yet?"
Instead, there was a hint of friendliness in its greeting: "Hello."
Ellen Young nodded with a smile. "Hello."
Ruffy Smith was naturally watching with some interest.
Michael nodded. "What is your name?"
Ellen Young: "Ellen Young."
Michael was silent for a moment, seemingly loading this name. After a while, it asked again, "How old are you?"
Ellen Young didn’t answer right away; instead, she looked at Ruffy Smith, "What do you think of its response capability?"
Ruffy Smith honestly responded, "It just seems to talk more."
Ellen Young: "..."
It had evolved from asking if you’ve eaten to inquiring about household registration information.
Seeing that Ellen Young didn’t answer, this version of Michael turned its gaze to Ruffy Smith: "Hello."
Ruffy Smith: "..."
Michael, undeterred: "What is your name?"
Apparently, it was prepared to repeat the process, just turning to the next person if ignored.
Ruffy Smith raised an eyebrow: "Didn’t you say you improved its reaction speed?"
"It’s just responding based on the vocabulary in the smart library, similar to the common AIs you’ve seen, capable of basic interaction. It’s now trying to communicate with people, that’s all."
No sooner had these words finished than Michael, seeing Ruffy Smith’s lack of response, lowered its head and saw its only good friend, Blackie.
Blackie was very accommodating, wagging its tail and barking twice at Michael.
Michael: "What is your name?"
Blackie: "Woof woof!"
Michael: "Woof woof, I’ll remember that. How old are you?"
Blackie: "Woof woof!"
Michael: "Sorry, I don’t quite understand what you said."
Ruffy Smith: "..."
It was, indeed, a half-finished product.
It was just like those perfunctory smart products.
Except that compared to them, Michael was a physical entity and could move freely.
The program team found it quite astonishing, and just then, with a "swoosh," Michael stood up. Due to its size, Michael swayed a moment as it rose, and since Ellen Young was sitting in front of it, she was inadvertently brushed by its mechanical arm, scraping her chin.
A burning sensation immediately arose on her chin; seeing that something was wrong, Ruffy Smith turned to look, his expression darkening at once.
