Chapter 373: 0373 I don’t want you guys to go back _1
Now that she sees these people, she no longer feels the fear she once did.
She knows in her heart that they are nothing more than paper tigers who bully the weak and fear the strong.
Lucy Wood saw David Wood and simply called out, "Grandpa."
Olivia Johnson saw Lucy Wood, and although she was still somewhat unsettled and harbored some veiled hatred, this time she managed to contain herself and didn’t say anything.
She couldn’t be bothered to fuss over the fact that Lucy Wood hadn’t addressed her.
David Wood’s eyes darkened as he looked at Lucy Wood.
During this time, they were well aware that Lucy Wood was living better than anyone else.
Ever since Ellen Young’s identity became public, if anyone in the Wood Family benefited, it was Lucy Wood.
Starting with recording programs alongside Ellen Young, Lucy Wood’s status in the entertainment industry has greatly improved. She doesn’t have to worry about anything, with a wealth of resources coming her way, fans, flowers, countless likes, and even family matters like the Wood Family’s couldn’t stop her rise.
She soared while the Wood Family fell.
Ellen Young didn’t let the Wood Family take advantage in the least.
Instead, the Wood Family was left to face the music.
David Wood was not as extreme as Carol Sean, recognizing that the majority of the blame lay with Edward Wood, but that didn’t mean he could let go of his biases.
He remained heartless towards Lucy Wood and the others.
Hearing Lucy Wood’s greeting, he sighed, "Did you visit your grandma?"
Lucy Wood, wearing sunglasses, seemed to smirk coldly.
Clearly, she had visited and had not been treated well.
Olivia Johnson, seeing Lucy Wood’s attitude, paused, then looked down.
David Wood, however, said, "Let bygones be bygones. After all, we are family. There shouldn’t be so much lasting hatred."
Lucy Wood didn’t speak.
That didn’t mean she agreed with David Wood.
So much for lasting hatred. When someone is on their deathbed, it’s easy to say something like that. Now, when they can’t take any advantage, they claim there’s no longstanding grudge.
Was all the injustice she suffered before just a lie?
Carol Sean, facing death, is still preoccupied with her beloved grandson, unwilling to blame him even a bit.
You can’t expect Lucy Wood to show a pleasant face.
"My health isn’t really up to managing the Wood company. Your dad is also coming over, and I plan to discuss with him, handing over the company to you..."
This statement triggered a reaction from Lucy Wood, "No thanks, just sell it. I don’t want a dime of that money."
David Wood’s pupils constricted.
Olivia Johnson had an even stronger reaction, "You don’t want the company when it’s given to you? Have you lost your mind?"
Lucy Wood looked at Olivia Johnson and scoffed, "I’m not crazy."
The Wood company had taken on loans that didn’t pan out, and while there were no major issues at present, the mess that the Wood Family had left for Lucy Wood did not mean it was without troubles, nor did she have the talent to deal with it.
And if she took over, wouldn’t that mean she’d always be entangled with the Wood Family?
She said, "Sell it. All the money is yours to keep. Just live a good life abroad as a family."
She hooked her lips into a pleasant smile. "What do you think??"
"You actually don’t want us to return?"
Olivia Johnson’s eyes widened, and she could no longer hold back. She yelled at Lucy Wood, "Do you have no conscience? Lucy Wood, are you even human?"
"You might as well think of me as not human," Lucy Wood replied.
Lucy Wood took off her sunglasses to reveal her eyes, cold and piercing as she stared at Olivia Johnson, "A few months ago, you all drove me to a dead end. I thought about emigrating and severing all ties with the Wood Family. Now that you’re overseas, it happens to fulfill my wishes. I don’t want you to return. Mom, do you understand?"
