Chapter 308: Can 0308 really be saved?_1
David Wood received the news of his grandson’s incident and was furiously enraged.
His first reaction was disbelief, yet the police in America had made everything crystal clear.
In fact, they had already investigated and determined that the main culprit wasn’t Edward Wood.
However, the rich kid’s family had reacted faster, bribing the local lawyers, and expended a huge amount of manpower and financial resources, hell-bent on pinning the crime on Edward Wood.
Regardless of whether the American police were fair or not, upon hearing his grandson’s heart-wrenching sobs over the phone, claiming his innocence, David Wood was shocked and furious, but also tinged with a hint of doubt and bewilderment. Together with an equally frightened Daniel Wood, he rushed overseas.
Naturally, Olivia Johnson and Daisy Wood went as well.
By this time, Carol Sean had already arrived ahead of them, but completely unaware of the situation, she only understood the gravity after her entourage explained that her grandson was in trouble.
She was livid with shock and anger, and having grown accustomed to throwing her weight around back home, she did something unbelievable.
She went to the police station to bail out Edward Wood, knowing that in America, it’s indeed possible to bail someone out before they’re found guilty, with the requirement that the accused stays in the country and awaits trial.
The issue was the excessively high bail amount—1 million dollars, a figure seldom seen. The Woods had the means, but Carol Sean did not.
She even asked if it could be less, but naturally, they did not agree, so she threw a tantrum at the police station.
She had done something similar back in her home country.
She collected people whenever Edward Wood got into a fight.
Back then, the local police station dreaded her, finding it hard to deal with an old woman and wanted to resolve the matter quickly.
This time, however, as she repeated her old tactics abroad, she had no idea how different the police forces were from one country to another.
When she threw her tantrum, she startled the foreign police so much, they almost drew their guns to subdue her.
Fortunately, she reacted just in time.
This was a police station, after all!
Carol Sean had absolutely no conception of how foreign police operate.
Here, they wouldn’t put up with her antics; they simply arrested her and locked her up inside.
For causing a disturbance in the police station, she would face multiple charges.
In other words, it was possible for Edward Wood to be released, but she might end up in more trouble than she could handle.
She was nothing but trouble for the Wood Family.
As soon as David Wood got off the plane and heard about this, he was so angry he almost collapsed on the spot, "That damned old hag, I should have killed her when I had the chance!"
Quivering with fury, Daniel Wood hadn’t expected such an incident either and was dumbstruck.
Yet, it was indeed something Carol Sean would do.
Olivia Johnson couldn’t care less about that wretched old woman; she’d rather the other just died in jail.
Now, her whole heart and mind were preoccupied with her son; she had cried throughout the plane journey and was still crying after disembarking, crying to the point of nearly collapsing.
Seeing her like this, David Wood refrained from slapping her, considering they were on foreign soil, and only growled ominously, "Crying, is crying going to help? If crying could save your son, you useless thing, apart from crying you’re good for nothing."
Olivia Johnson turned deathly pale, barely managing to stand even with Daisy’s support.
Daniel Wood also glanced at her coldly before swiftly following the grim-faced David Wood.
After calming down for a moment, Olivia Johnson’s anger resurfaced, and she clenched her teeth, "Once my son is rescued, I’ll definitely get a divorce!"
But Daisy wasn’t so optimistic.
She was just full of anxiety, wondering if her brother could truly be saved.
