Chapter 289: 0289 He would rather Ellen Young be a superficial person_1

Honestly, Ruffy Smith was still somewhat unhappy.

Who would be happy when their messages go unanswered?

In the past, he was always the one people sent messages to and he would not reply; he never expected the tables to turn and for it to happen to him.

Ellen Young glanced at Blackie and finally responded upon seeing Ruffy Smith’s message.

Ellen Young: [Hmm, it’s not necessary.]

It’s just adding a friend.

When Ruffy Smith saw her response, he could almost imagine her indifferent expression on the other side of the cellphone, which made him chuckle in annoyance.

Ruffy: [You’re going to be in Imperial City for the next few days? Great, there’s something I want to tell you.]

Ellen Young: [?]

Ruffy: [Image]

Ruffy: [Do you remember when you got drunk last time, you gave me a problem to solve? Persistence pays off, I spent some time but I managed to solve it—with a little help from Professor Bruno.]

He still remembered that incident; the problem Ellen Young gave him was truly complicated.

Not to mention he wasn’t a math major, so it really took him some effort to solve the problem.

Of course, he went straight to Bruno who gave him some hints, and that person also found the problem quite intriguing.

Otherwise, if he had sought help from someone else, he might not have been able to solve it in this lifetime.

Ellen Young was fuzzy about everything that night she got drunk, Damien Frost had mentioned it, and she remembered that she had given Ruffy Smith a problem, but she never expected it to be that problem.

So much so, that upon seeing the image Ruffy Smith sent, she could nearly picture him racking his brains out over the problem.

However, at least he was able to turn to Bruno for help, allowing him to come up with the solution so quickly.

After looking at the solution, Ellen Young had more to say in her response.

Ellen Young: [I can tell you did some reasoning on your own, the initial steps probably had some tips from Bruno; however, there are a few unnecessary steps toward the end, and the theorems you cited made it somewhat overly complicated—nonetheless, getting the right answer is still pretty good.]

Ruffy Smith found her words even more amusing.

Who cares if the theorems are complex or simple, wasn’t he just trying to find an excuse to talk more with Ellen Young?

To communicate with her, he went through quite some trouble.

Too bad this woman is really impervious to flattery or persuasion.

Thinking about it, Ruffy Smith felt a bit annoyed.

He recalled how, back in the day, so many women were after his looks, his physique, his money; some even resorted to drugging him to get into his bed, but Ruffy Smith never took the bait.

When he was younger, Ruffy had a bit of an elitist attitude, feeling that others were too superficial, only able to see his external shell and not appreciating him as a person.

Although he didn’t care much for their appreciation anyway.

So meeting Ellen Young, he felt as if she was the one who truly suited his taste.

Now it seemed like karma had caught up with him, and he wished Ellen Young would just appreciate his looks and who he was as a person.

He would rather Ellen Young be just a shallow person!

Ruffy Smith had no regrets about the bold moves he made, but he felt a pang of regret that his plans hadn’t succeeded.

Dealing with a woman who wasn’t after his looks, physique, or family background, especially one who was immensely intelligent, was truly a colossal challenge.

So, how to conquer her, Ruffy Smith was racking his brain for strategies.

Even if Ellen Young doesn’t like him now, it’s fine as long as she’s not married and has no one she likes; he would still be the most hopeful one.

And what if she’s married? There’s still divorce, isn’t there?

Ruffy Smith curled his lips and continued the conversation on this topic.
