After considering for a moment, Ellen Young clicked her tongue.

The corners of her lips curbed into a faint arc, as if she found it somewhat amusing.

She was sitting in her study, next to a large floor-to-ceiling window.

She lived in a high-rise, and with just a slight tilt of the head, she could see the cityscape outside.

Only Blackie was running around beside her; in the quiet room, even the smallest sound was especially clear.

She then opened her laptop, as working on it would be more convenient.

After accepting Ruffy Smith’s friend request, Ellen Young continued to respond to other people’s WhatsApp messages.

Ruffy Smith must have noticed that she had accepted the request, as he quickly sent Ellen Young a message.

Ruffy: [Teacher]

Just the simple word "Teacher," it was almost possible to imagine him saying it with lowered eyebrows on the other side.

Seeing her response, Ruffy Smith couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

He was lying on the bed, with one hand holding the cellphone, and the other hand propped behind his head, smiling as he typed with one hand.

Ruffy: [Teacher, even your replies are succinct. I should at least thank you for not rejecting my friend request]

As Ellen Young was about to reply to this message, Blackie barked, jumped onto a small glass coffee table beside her which had a little cup on it. When Blackie jumped up, it knocked over the cup, shattering it with a crisp, breaking sound, making Ellen Young immediately turn her head.

Apparently realizing it had done something wrong, Blackie quickly hopped off the coffee table, crouching there with its tail tucked and head lowered, glancing at Ellen Young, seemingly a bit scared.

Ellen Young went over to clean up the cup and sighed, "You’re a dog, not a cat, what are you jumping on the coffee table for?"

She fetched the cleaning tools and quickly cleaned up the broken glass.

Then she lifted Blackie’s dog paw to check it, to ensure it hadn’t been cut by the shards.

After seeing there were no wounds on Blackie’s paws, Ellen Young still scolded it a bit, "Don’t jump around like this, if it happens again, I’ll have to deal with you."

After speaking, she smiled again.

Grabbing Blackie’s dog paw, she had it stand up and gave it a shake.

Seeing that Ellen Young wasn’t angry, Blackie’s tail wagged even more cheerfully.

On the other side, Ruffy Smith had been waiting for a while without a reply from Ellen Young to his message; he thought maybe she was too busy, or perhaps she did not want to reply to him.
