Chapter 118: 0118 Let Wood Family Take Advantage for Free?_1
Ellen Young was dropped off at the Wanton Group building, where lights were still on across the entire building.
Ruffy Smith escorted Ellen to the parking lot below, allowing her to take a special elevator straight up to Clinton White’s office.
After Ellen got out of the car, Ruffy remained inside and waved at Ellen with a lazy lift of his eyebrows, "Goodbye, Teacher. Call me anytime, I’m available 24/7."
Ellen glanced over and casually said, "Goodbye," then headed toward the elevator.
Her departing figure was utterly heartless.
Clinton White had already received the message that she was coming, and when Ellen gave a precise time, he quickly put away the golf ball and club he was holding after receiving a call from his secretary, and scurried back to his desk pretending to be busy.
The elevator doors opened, and out walked Ellen, clad in an orange hoodie, black jeans, and her hair tied up in a simple bun.
If someone said she was a recent university graduate, people would believe it. Who would dare to think that she had already stepped down from the pinnacle of life and was now retired?
The whole floor was Clinton White’s territory, with every partition made of transparent glass. Normally, special gauze curtains could be drawn, allowing one to see straight through.
Except for Clinton White’s own office, which was now obscured.
Outside was Clinton White’s secretary’s office. The group was too large and responsible for many different projects, so there were several secretaries.
Seeing Ellen arrive, they all stood up in unison, and called out with neat and respectful voices: "Miss Young."
The company belonged to Ellen, but she was not involved in daily operations, focusing mainly on major collaborative projects. Those who had seen her were only Clinton White’s secretaries.
Ellen nodded slightly, and the head secretary stepped forward to knock on Clinton White’s office door. After hearing an "Enter," she opened the door for Ellen and gestured for her to go in with a "Please."
Ellen walked in, and the secretary then quietly closed the door behind her.
Among a few secretaries, only one was new, and upon seeing Ellen, she couldn’t contain her excitement, "Is she... is she the chairman?"
The mostly unseen chairman of Wanton was a subject of wild speculation outside, as so few had actually met her.
She had heard about Ellen upon arrival, and now seeing her for the first time, Ellen’s youthful appearance shattered the new secretary’s expectations.
The other secretaries nodded, and the head secretary waved her hand, "Work time, no discussions."
The excited young secretary immediately quieted down, retreated to her desk, but her mind was still filled with unstoppable imaginings about the legendary Ellen Young.
"Hey, look who’s here?"
Clinton White got up from his desk, looking handsome and impeccably dressed in a suit, with glasses resting on his nose, presenting a scholarly appearance. It was hard to imagine he managed such a massive group.
Ellen walked over without wasting any words, "I’ve already finished talking with Taylor Smith. They have set the product launch date for next year, with the latest product research and development ending by the end of this year. I need to go to the laboratory to work on the UXIN fusion technology reaction, which might take half a month."
"Yes, yes, everything has already been arranged," Clinton replied cheerfully.
He added, still smiling, "You’ve just come to Imperial City and went straight from the plane to see Taylor Smith, you must be tired. Why don’t you rest early and go back? Where are you staying tonight? You own a piece of real estate near the company, the password is your birthday."
Ellen said, "I’ll review some documents first, I’ll go there before midnight."
Clinton said, "Okay."
Glancing around, he added, "The matter with your sister has been arranged, the brand for the endorsement has agreed. But with the Frost Family contacting the Wood Family, if we don’t let out a little wind, what if the Wood Family takes advantage of you because of it?"
So many people wanted to curry favor with Ellen, and if they connected with the Wood Family as a result, wouldn’t that mean the other side would reap unearned benefits?
