Chapter 113: 0113 Public number for personal use_1
This professor was named Cecil Jack, a famed and significant figure.
He was also a remarkable genius, mainly involved in agricultural research.
He wasn’t in the same field as Ellen Young, but having met her, there were few in his life whom he had esteemed; Ellen Young was the only person he had openly admitted to admiring greatly, even though she was just a young girl.
In the realm of scientific research, age is no barrier if you have the capabilities.
Occasionally, Ellen Young would come over to see him, so the staff at the research institute all knew her.
Cecil Jack was usually stern and strict, but he would always crack a smile with Ellen Young, treating her as if she were his own child.
Seeing online comments about Ellen Young made him upset: "What’s our research institute’s public account? Who’s handling it? Bring it here to support her!"
The members were bewildered: "Professor, it’s not that we aren’t willing, but private use of the public account isn’t allowed, and since their side hasn’t taken action, it indicates that there’s no hurry. Even if we did support her publicly, what would we say? Her identity needs to remain a secret for now."
Without permission, who would dare to recklessly reveal Ellen Young’s identity?
Cecil Jack instantly frowned.
His stern look, which was typically fearsome, belied the fact that although Professor Jack dedicated his life to research and rarely paid attention to matters on the internet, he now followed the country’s call to keep up with the times. Considering Ellen Young worked in the internet sector, Cecil Jack wasn’t entirely old-fashioned. He suddenly said, "Register a Twitter account for me, don’t use my information."
The members were shocked: "What are you going to do?"
Cecil Jack declared loudly: "To argue with those troublemakers! Don’t worry, I won’t use my real information."
Members: "..."
And just like that, the professor became one with the internet’s army of debaters.
***
Ellen Young was just a person who appeared out of nowhere; she had merely joined a program with Lucy Wood’s younger sister. Now, with the tightening control of speech, Ellen Young hadn’t done anything significant, and even Lucy Wood’s haters didn’t dare to be too explicit.
They just directed their sarcasm at her, mocking her with their words.
There were naturally those who disliked her, but there were also many who liked her; most of Lucy Wood’s fans were quite fond of her younger sister. Right after the live broadcast of the program ended that week, the Ellen Young fan support brigade immediately emerged. It was a normal occurrence for fan clubs to appear, not surprising at all. Even some speculated whether Lucy Wood’s sister was planning to enter the entertainment industry—why else would Lucy Wood bring her on the program?
Her sister was beautiful; it wasn’t impossible for her to make a debut.
The incident occurred among the fan support group; these were fans who had converted from Lucy Wood’s base, led by a well-organized big fan. This fan promptly established a Twitter fanpage for Ellen Young, which wasn’t strange, right?
However, it became strange when someone among the fans had an online slip-up.
Just when the haters were rubbing their hands together, ready to start targeting Ellen Young too, and the marketing accounts were getting ready to enter the fray, an explosive piece of information was suddenly discovered.
The official accounts of "Andalu University Agricultural Research Institute" and "Hadton University," which were usually unrelated, had actually checked into Ellen Young’s Twitter fanpage.
Even though the fans quickly realized something was amiss and sent private messages to both official accounts asking what was going on, the evidence was already there. When the official accounts noticed the fans’ reactions were amiss, they each issued a statement, all pointing to one explanation: it was just a slip of the hand, a slip of the hand!
They certainly had no intention of misusing the public account—not at all!
——They had intended to use the public account all along.
