Chapter 112: 0112 First week live broadcast conclusion_1

Ellen Young spent the entire afternoon picking herbs.

Ruffy Smith followed her around all afternoon.

He wasn’t just following her; they occasionally chatted.

As Ellen picked herbs, perhaps out of boredom, she occasionally responded to him.

The herbs she was collecting were not ordinary, but rather the kind that could be chopped up and squeezed for their juice to add flavor.

This was relatively rare and a seasoning method her grandfather had taught her.

By the time Ellen had finished and came down the mountain, Ruffy Smith was nowhere to be seen.

Ellen had a live broadcast show to do; he couldn’t possibly appear the entire time.

When she got home, Lucy Wood had no idea Ellen hadn’t been live streaming that afternoon. With nothing better to do, Lucy finally experienced what the fans felt when they saw her gaining weight. She did a yoga workout in the courtyard and live streamed it. Plenty of fans followed along, which at least kept things from being too boring.

Seeing the herbs on Ellen’s back, Lucy was somewhat surprised, "What did you pick all this for?"

Ellen replied, "For seasoning."

Lucy: "..."

Herbs can be used for seasoning?

In the following days, the live broadcast resumed a more normal routine, and Lucy Wood and Ellen Young got through their unremarkable first week.

Ruffy Smith appeared occasionally during normal times, but he didn’t interfere with the show’s filming.

Felicia Frost vaguely learned a bit about Ellen’s identity, but most of the time Ellen spent with Lucy, so it wasn’t easy for her to ask directly.

As soon as the week’s live broadcast ended, she took Lucy to sign the contract with the producer.

With this month’s live broadcasts over, the content would go through editing to be shown in the evening. Of course, if anyone was interested, they could search for re-runs to watch. However, with over ten hours per day, the edited version was certainly easier to digest.

Of course, there was a huge discussion on the Internet about this pioneering variety show.

Almost every participant became a trending topic on Twitter at some point.

Lucy was trending, and naturally, so was Ellen.

The news that she had joined the program couldn’t be hidden, although the domestic variety show hadn’t yet impacted overseas. While netizens were actively discussing gossip, a portion of the scientific community had a significant reaction.

In a certain research laboratory team.

The day they finally managed to leave the lab, they suddenly received news from the adjacent laboratory.

"What? The professor joined a variety show?????"

"Living in the countryside, only knowing how to peel radishes, clueless about everything else—who are they talking about? Who is this about?!!"

The team members were almost spitting blood.

At that moment, the science team’s boss, a scientist who would make headlines just by stepping out, walked out with a stern face, "What are you all arguing about? If you’re done with work and want to rest, go home and argue there, don’t make a fuss here."

The other members quickly explained, "No, no, Professor, it’s just that Professor Young is in the news... She went home and joined a live broadcast show with her sister..."

Before they could finish, the boss snatched the cellphone from one of the team members.

The boss, already well into his fifties and quite mature and composed, nearly blacked out when he saw the trending topic on Twitter: "What are they saying? Do they even know who she is? This is just ridiculous, how can the country... "

Someone cautiously offered, "I heard Professor Young volunteered to participate. During the filming of the program, it’s difficult for the country to manage these statements, right?"

After all, everyone was discussing it, and even though some comments were derogatory, they couldn’t just be banned outright—if too many were censored, wouldn’t everyone think something was amiss?

Moreover, there were some malicious individuals on the Internet stirring up trouble, and then there would have been public rumors about the lack of human rights.
