Chapter 88: Bet

Astri’s spouses are looking at her with desolated eyes, almost like they are about to break down.

"Saw that reaction? Imagine if I really get more males." Astri asks Elder Jin, who is also shocked.

"So, you’re not being serious?" Zin asks with hope in his voice.

"Do you think I would be this evil to play with others’ hearts? If I had more males that would be them. However, I’m not allowing anyone to pursue me because I respect and love you. Your happiness is my happiness too. I just hope you always do the same for me too. If it’s to accept more males, I want at least most of us to agree. If you don’t agree, it will be harder on me knowing you’re unhappy." She explains.

Their hearts are filled with warmth again. Koa and Beau are still spellbound, their faces blushed like they were peaches.

"Are you saying you’re interested in Leader Koa, milady?" Elder Jin asks happily.

"I would be lying if I said no. However, Koa is the leader of this tribe and has responsibilities here. Being who I am doesn’t allow me to simply stay somewhere forever. King Tyr is the same thing. I can’t live in his castle and I can’t be his Queen. Beau is the strongest of his army and he is the one his Kings most trust for the safety of their kingdom. I also can’t live there. I can’t be selfish and irresponsible becoming mates with them just because I like them and for our own pleasure. We might disturb a balance that is important."

"Now I understand. It makes sense. You’re wise, as expected." Jin softly says.

The way she said this made her spouses calmer and understand that she does get interested in other males, but she doesn’t act like other females and accepts males like they were nothing, because of them and because of the other males too.

Koa and Beau had a lot to think about after what they heard from her. They didn’t have any idea that she was also interested in them, but they’re not sure if they didn’t formally say they would pursue her because they like her enough to change all of their lives. It will be a great change for everyone.

The next day, the tribe was being cleaned and they were adding the sandboxes to each cabin like Astri taught them.

Astri takes the chance to train with her spear since she could rarely train on the ship. Since the ship moves her spouses were scared she getting hurt by accident. She does some exercises to get her body heated, then she calls Zin to spar with her.

"Spar with you? No. I don’t want to hurt you." Zin softly says.

She looks to her other mates and all of them don’t even look at her, knowing she will try calling them too.

"No one here has the courage to face me. Is that it? Galion?" She says and looks at Galion.

"Erm.. Claud will kill me if I touch you." Galion answers.

Astri sneers.

"Cowards." She says and walks to Shan. "Shan, you’re my friend and I know you would never think less of me."

Shan loses his voice and he blushes watching her with big puppy eyes.

"It’s just sparring. If you fall I win. If I fall you win. Simple. Come on. It will be fun." She says pulling Shan by his hand.

"Why him?" Lee asks annoyed.

"You have no right to give your opinion since you were given the chance. None of you can." Astri answers.

"If you hurt her, I’ll kill you." Cyprian says to Shan.

"And if you don’t shut up I will cut your balls off!!" She tells them and they get quiet.

Anyone who watches from outside can see that Astri is always calm, but her spouses most of the time are the ones that make her come to the edge.

"He has too many marks for sparring with you." Wayde softly says to Astri.

"Be quiet." Claud warns Wayde.

Astri smiles and moves her spear, getting ready as she watches Shan’s movements. When he tries to get closer, she slaps his ankle with her spear quickly, making him step back.

He watches her movements and now he can see she’s not a simple female at all. She pretends to go forward, and then when he prepares his feet to get her hit, she circles him and beats him behind his knee.

He stumbles and jumps away from her, impressed because he almost lost when he almost kneeled to her.

Now the Aquaterrans and her spouses are watching carefully. Koa appears and sees Astri fighting Shan from outside the coral fence, he goes inside quickly to find out what was happening.

Shan tries to take her spear since it’s what makes her have the advantage. When he pulls her, she jumps forward and puts the spear on his neck, she kicks his leg and then moves behind him and does a judo attack. He goes flying above her and falls with his back flat on the grass.

"Oh Goddess.. you’re amazing." Shan says, looking at her from the ground.

Shan is actually feeling honored, but also holding to not show on himself how excited he is.

"Don’t underestimate your opponents. Even if it’s a little pale female." She smiles and helps him stand. "I don’t want to hurt you, bla bla bla. He has too many marks, bla bla bla. Cowards!" Astri jokes, making a fun sneering voice.

"Hey!.. We were not underestimating you. We were just trying to prevent you from getting hurt." Wayde says.

"Keep saying that and I’ll believe it one day."

"Again! Let’s go again! Now let’s bet. If I win you will grant me a wish. If you win I’ll grant you a wish." Shan excitedly says.

"Oh. Exciting! Let’s do it."

"Astri, if he wins he will ask to be your male. He now knows what to expect from you." Lee says.

"None of you has the right to give opinions." She repeats.

"Lee, all of you rarely saw her training or her past like I did. She’s capable of fighting. Stop hurting her pride this way. Even if she loses she won’t do something she doesn’t want." Claud pulls Lee to sit on his side and whispers.

Zin is the one who most saw her training and he knows she’s very skilled, but she’s still his female and he worries.

When Shan attacks her, she moves back and that makes him go forward again. When he does that she pulls his ankle with one end of her spear, and then pushes him with the body of her spear, making him fall again.

Everyone had their mouth wide open. Her spouses knew she had a different style of fighting and that she takes advantage of other’s strength, but the Aquaterrans and Koa are amazed at her skills. She jumps happily, making a dance of victory.

"How’s that possible? You’re like an octopus." Shan says.

"Lesson number 1, my friend: Make your opponent look where you want them to look. I have one wish, right? I’ll think about what I want."

"I’m not worthy of protecting you."

"Don’t say that. If this was a life and death fight you would have more chances to win. In terms of strength, you will always be stronger than me." She says helping him stand up again.

"Can I try?" Beau asks.

Everyone looks at him.

"You want to spar with me?" Astri asks Beau.

"Yes. Betting too."

She smiles and nods. They take positions to start the duel, Astri can see in his eyes that he’s going for the win and that he’s watching all her movements. He’s concentrated.

This looks very unfair looking from outside. He is the same size as Cyprian, and she’s small in front of him. Not to mention his muscles. However, he doesn’t want to hurt her, he just wants to grab her and make her sit and that will be enough to win.

Seeing that he won’t make the first move, she moves from one side to the other slowly and when he moves his legs to follow her she goes forward quickly with her spear, poking his chest.

Remembering that she will take advantage if he walks back, he dodges to the side but then she jumps on him and locks her legs on his neck taking everyone by surprise. Since he can’t see where she will put her spear, she puts it to make him stumble and fall on his knee.

He holds her spear to hold him before kneeling on the ground. She makes a four with her legs and presses his neck even more, making him hold her leg to try to free his airway. She leaned her body back and that made him lose his balance even more.

He decides to use his head like she does and throws his body back. He doesn’t let her release her legs from his neck, so she moves and sits on his head and he falls with his back flat and she sits on his head.

"OOOOH!! THAT WAS SO CLOSE!!" The Aquaterrans cheers.

Beau sighs defeated and she giggles sitting on the grass now.

"You learn fast." She pokes his head.

"I want to try again." Beau says to her.

"After you grant my wish."

"It’s my turn now." Wayde speaks standing up and passing Yuki to Cyprian.

"Oh. Now you believe in me?" She says with crossed arms and with a defying smile.

"I always did. I want the same bet." Wayde speaks, helping her to stand up.

She stumbles forward and holds on to him, he holds her too and then she puts her leg behind his legs and makes him fall on his back with her on his chest.

"Ops. I won." She smiles mischievously, making everyone laugh.

Wayde laughs, poking her and making her have a laughter attack tickling her sides.

"I give up! You can have the wish!" She cries laughing.

From nowhere, a yellow shadow passes quickly and they see Zin slithering away quickly with her coiled on the tip of his tail.

"NO WAY!!" Claud, Cyprian, Wayde and Lee run after him.

Yuki laughs while running with Cyprian and the boys run after them thinking they are playing catch.

"I understand them. Until now, I’m holding myself. She’s too sexy." Shan says.

Beau and Koa agree but they would never admit out loud in front of them. Beau wanted to win. Now he wants to spar with her again until he wins and has his wish granted. Koa thought of sparring with her too, but it would be too much on her sparring with everyone there.
