Beastmen Love
Chapter 75: Setting Sails

Chapter 75: Setting Sails

With the pleasantries exchanged, they delved into the tasks at hand.

"Could you gather the wood I told you?" Astri asks Beau.

"Yes, G.. Yes, we did. Not sure if it is enough. We can get more if you want." Beau answers.

He led the group to a secluded spot on the beach and showed the many logs, enough for years.

"Amazing. Good job. Now, we need to bring all this to the boats. And everything we brought too. Most of things can’t get wet, do you have smaller boats that can be brought to land?" Astri asks.

"No. I apologize."

"No problem. We can bring it somehow. First, let’s bring everything we will have to stock. Then we organize the vegetable garden. After that personal things. How about that?" She says.

"Anything you want."

"Let’s do it, guys." Wayde says to his companions.

Wayde and Lee organize the teams to work on that, while Astri and Claud take care of the cubs. When they go back to the sand, they watch the majestic ships. Astri is scratching herself curious to check the ships.

"We can go there if you want, love. I don’t need even to read your mind to know you’re curious to go check it out." Claud smiles at her.

"Let’s go." She says excitedly.

Claud chuckles. She holds Yuki in her arms and opens her wings. Claud asks Galion to take him and the boys to the ship. He could float, but to prevent anyone to see that he preferred asking Galion.

They land on the deck and are shocked by the details of the ship.

Astri is stunned. Even Claud who had seen many things never saw something so complex and beautiful at the same time. Even if they saw in Beau’s memories the details of the ship, it’s very different from seeing it for real.

At first glance, the Aquaterran ship appears to be a vessel crafted by the hands of both skilled engineers and artistic visionaries. Its exterior boasts a stunning combination of functionality and aesthetic appeal, designed to seamlessly transition between the surface and the depths of the ocean.

Half up of the ship is dark blue and under it is white, like the camouflage of most fishes in the ocean, so they cannot be seen from under or above easily.

When on the surface, it resembles a sleek and elegant sailing vessel, complete with tall masts and billowing sails. The hull is a deep sea-blue, with white and silver accents that shimmer in the sunlight.

Upon closer inspection, one can notice intricate scale-like patterns etched along the sides of the hull. These designs not only add to the ship’s beauty but also serve as a testament to its aquatic capabilities.

The ship’s lines are smooth and graceful, almost resembling the contours of a sea creature. This design choice allows it to glide effortlessly through the water, minimizing resistance.

Stepping aboard, one is greeted by a spacious deck, perfect for gatherings or stargazing during the nights at sea. The deck is adorned with comfortable seating and is partially covered by a retractable canopy.

Descending to the below deck, the control room is a marvel of technology. A complex array of levers and buttons allows the crew to control the ship’s movements, both on the surface and underwater.

One of the ship’s most enchanting features is a series of large, transparent domes that offer breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean. These domes are strategically placed throughout the ship, allowing passengers to observe marine life and underwater landscapes with unparalleled clarity.

"It’s amazing. Aquaterrans are more advanced in terms of technology and engineer." Astri says.

"I wonder why and how they got so advanced." Claud wonders as they walk looking around.

"Remember that I told you that everything has life in some way?"

"Yes. You said that in the other world, people have studied cells within our body and how each has a meaning and carries energy. Even diseases have some sort of life."

"Exactly. And remember that I told you that water is the main source of life? Most of life in any world started in the water. It is not something that scares me to know that sea beastmen are more evolved since they’re in this world way longer."

"It’s true. It makes sense. But they also look delayed about culture, lifestyle and other sides that you brought to us. As I saw in Beau’s memories, they live pretty much the same way as land beastmen." Claud says and she sighs.

"Those are things that are hard to change because it’s hard to see that it might be dangerous. I noticed that Beastmen in general don’t think on the long term or in a wider perspective. And if it’s something that would remove them from their comfort zone, forcing them to learn something new, it’s even harder to evolve. However, with the right push, they will find reasons to evolve." She speaks and smiles at him.

He smiles at her too, they hold hands and keep touring in the boats until they meet Wayde and Cyprian on the upper deck. Astri and Claud organize their bedroom, Kai and Elias try to help somehow and Yuki plays by herself with the toys Astri built.

All of their group felt a little nauseous on the ship, it was something expected according to Astri and she makes tea for all of them so they don’t feel so nauseous until they get used to it.

Astri protects Yuki with cute clothes for the snowing season, it’s almost snowing and it is colder with the sea breeze. At night, it’s colder on the beach so Astri prefers staying in the ship already to keep the cubs warm.

Tyr also spends the night on the ship, wanting to know how his queen will be living. At least it is not a bad place even if it makes them nauseous.

——

In the middle of the night, Beau and his team are gathered in the upper deck.

"The Goddess is beautiful. I wonder if she would accept a sea beastman. Her mates don’t have as many marks as me." Shan, the oarfish, says.

"Know your place. The Goddess and her unicorn mate are powerful and they can get into your mind." Beau seriously speaks.

"Come on. I was just wondering. I would love to have such a beautiful female as my spouse."

"She indeed is beautiful and different. I wondered if she really was the Goddess because of her petite figure." Hawa, the shark, says.

"You two are blind. She’s smart and watches everything. In this little time that I watched her, I discovered that she projected all of these things they brought for their survival. She knows how to read, write, and even knows medicine. She’s not a common beast at all." Ferd, the shutome, speaks.

"Did you see her wings? They have a pure white color. It’s beautiful." Shan says daydreaming, making them chuckle and roll their eyes.

"We must be grateful that she is risking herself to save our queen. So we will travel faster than we ever did, and protect her no matter what." Beau’s voice was clear and decided, his team nodded in agreement.

"What did you tell her to convince to come?" Hawa asks.

"The truth. That the Queen would die and all of our Kingdom would probably die too without the guidance of the royal family."

"Aw! I thought you promised to be her spouse or something." Shan sneers.

"Can you stop? None of us here are worthy of a Goddess." Beau seriously says, shooing Shan away.

After a few moments, they hear footsteps and Astri appears in the upper deck. She looks at them and waves at them with a wide smile. They naturally smiled back. She’s a bit far from them and only walks away in the direction of the front of the boat.

They follow her and watch her sitting on the wood deck. She hugs herself with her warm clothes and watches the sea.

"Is everything all right?" Beau asks.

"Yes. I just slept too much during the travel and I’m not sleepy yet. Decided to come talk to the sea a little." She answers.

"Talk to the sea?"

"Yes."

"Well... We will leave you then. If you need anything we will be around." Beau says and pulls Shan who was ready to join her.

"You don’t have to. Join me if you want. It’s good to finally meet you all."

Shan releases himself from Beau and sits happily near Astri. The others sit around too and Beau sighs before sitting too. She’s glad they’re wearing long skirts, so she’s not seeing their jewels when they sit.

"Can I really call you Astri?" Shan asks.

"Sure. How should I call you all, the greatest guardians of Aquaterra? Shan, the Major General. Ferd, the Brigadier General. Hawa, Real Admiral. Ryan, the High Admiral." She says looking at each of them. "Beau, the Commander and Captain." She smiles looking at Beau too.

"How do you know..? I didn’t tell you our ranks." Beau asks impressed.

The others are also impressed. She chuckles.

"I’m sorry. When I connected to your mind, I saw through your eyes and received some of your memories. I didn’t see much more than that. Don’t worry." She answers.

"Oh... I see."

"Now, tell me about you. You start Beau." She says.

"Well... I’m the Commander of the army of Aquaterra."

"I know that. Now, who are you besides the Commander?" She asks. They’re in silence, not knowing what to answer. "Let me start. I’m Astri. I like to read, draw, and write. Also love gardening and building new things. I’m a bad liar, everyone knows when I’m lying. I ignore what I don’t want to do, hear or see. About my past, I didn’t have parents and I was raised in a bad place. I didn’t know I’m who I am, or that I was even a beast until I met my spouses." She says and they’re impressed. "Now you."
