Beast God
Chapter 51: Mutated Tomb Lord

Everyone watched in stunned silence. Although Wang Lian's level wasn't high, her array of secret skills and unpredictable techniques made her nearly untouchable by ordinary mystical spirits of the same level.

Yet now, Wang Lian was being relentlessly beaten back by the mutated Shituo, appearing unable to hold out much longer. In both speed and strength, the mutated Shituo far surpassed Wang Lian. With its four arms and limbs, bizarre movements, grotesque attacks, and incredibly resilient body, along with two heads growing back-to-back that gave it near 360-degree awareness, the creature was virtually flawless in combat.

Wang Lian stood no chance. After just a few exchanges, she was already in mortal peril, constantly on the verge of death.

"What are you all standing around for? Attack together and kill it! If I die here, you'll all be stuck rotting in this place!" Wang Lian, now beyond caring about pride, shouted desperately at the group.

The crowd hesitated. No one wanted to perish here, but only Wang Lian knew the location of the teleportation station for leaving.

"Don't mind her. I'll personally take you to the teleportation station," Ji Nanhong declared while still engaged in battle with Qin Ziyu.

Hearing this, both the elite team and longer-term residents suppressed their restless thoughts.

"Are you listening to her nonsense? If she could really take you out, you wouldn't still be here now! Only I know the teleportation station's location. Without me leading you, no one will find it. The location I told them earlier was fake—they don't know the real spot. Without me, you'll all die here!" Wang Lian, now scrambling desperately, was nearing her limit.

Yet her words failed to move anyone.

"You think when I say I'll take them out, I mean searching for the teleportation station at your so-called location?" Ji Nanhong said coolly.

"Isn't that the case?" Wang Lian's face twisted in dismay as she realized that apart from some newcomers who'd recently teleported here, no one else showed any sign of wavering.

She couldn't comprehend Ji Nanhong's implication. Since Ji Nanhong had essentially admitted not knowing the real teleportation array's location, why wasn't anyone siding with her? Did these people not want to leave alive?

Wang Lian failed to understand the image Ji Nanhong had built among these people over the past year. Even someone like Old Bird, who would criticize Ji Nanhong's flaws, had never once said she was incompetent or doubted any of her promises.

Every word Ji Nanhong spoke and every promise she made had been fulfilled. She had consistently been both the rule-maker and enforcer. Those who'd spent a year with Ji Nanhong might harbor deep hatred toward her, even desiring to replace her, but none would ever question her promises.

If there was a teleportation station, and if Ji Nanhong promised to lead them out, then she would undoubtedly find a way. This trust wasn't built overnight nor through empty words—it was forged through countless life-and-death struggles, cemented with blood and vows. How could Wang Lian's mere words shake such conviction?

Seeing no help forthcoming, Wang Lian flipped backward and leaped toward the cliff's edge, preferring death over falling into Chen Guan's hands again.

"Thinking of dying... did you ask my permission?" Chen Guan, already prepared, flung his ox-tendon rope, ensnaring Wang Lian mid-air. With a powerful yank, he hauled her back from the cliff's brink.

As Wang Lian struggled to resist, the mutated Shituo pounced. Two of its arms twisted over its head to seize her wrists while the other pair grabbed her ankles, suspending her spread-eagled in the air. No matter how fiercely she fought, she remained firmly trapped in the creature's grasp.

"Qin Ziyu, Wang Lian's life is now in my hands. Cease your attack, and I'll spare her. A life for a life—what do you say?" Chen Guan proposed to Qin Ziyu.

Qin Ziyu sheathed his sword and stepped back, his expression complex as he gazed at the suspended Wang Lian.

"A life for a life. After this, Qin Ziyu owes you nothing. Agreed?" Chen Guan also looked at Wang Lian.

"Fine! A life for a life. Qin Ziyu, we're even after this," Wang Lian hastily agreed. Given the circumstances, Chen Guan's willingness to spare her exceeded her expectations—this outcome was better than she'd anticipated.

Qin Ziyu remained silent, his expression conflicted as he glanced at Chen Guan. While he'd repaid his debt to Wang Lian, did this mean he now owed Chen Guan?

"Release me now!" Wang Lian demanded, struggling.

Chen Guan smiled. "I promised to spare your life, not to set you free."

"You... shameless..." Enraged, Wang Lian turned to say something to Qin Ziyu.

"Rest assured, I'll keep my word not to kill you. Lead us to the teleportation array, and you'll have your freedom afterward," Chen Guan stated.

"Qin Ziyu..." Ignoring Chen Guan, Wang Lian gritted her teeth at Qin Ziyu.

But Qin Ziyu averted his gaze as if deaf to her plea. Seeing this, Wang Lian's last hope shattered, leaving her no choice but to agree to guide them.

On the way to the teleportation station, Chen Guan examined the fused mutated Shituo:

Mutated Tomb Lord (Unique): Level 8 Spirit Pet

Primordial Energy: 14.37

Growth Rate: 1.91

Innate Talent: Yin-Yang Bliss Body (Unique)

Secret Technique: Great Method of Yin-Yang Harmonization (Unique)

Secret Skill: Heart-Rending Claws (Rare)

Treasure: None

Yin-Yang Bliss Body: "Together in life, united in death—inseparable across both worlds, eternally dwelling in bliss."

Great Method of Yin-Yang Harmonization: "Yin and yang complement each other, blending seamlessly—spiritual union leads to the path of ultimate bliss."

After careful study, Chen Guan discovered the Yin-Yang Bliss Body made the Tomb Lord's physique far more resilient than typical unique creatures, significantly enhancing hidden attributes like strength and speed. The Great Method of Yin-Yang Harmonization granted exceptional Primordial Energy recovery, enabling continuous use of Heart-Rending Palms.

The secret skill was somewhat lacking—only rare quality—but Heart-Rending Claws could partially ignore defenses to deliver force directly to heart meridians, making it a vicious yet practical technique.

In other aspects, it resembled Rouge the rabbit before her evolution into a peerless being, though lacking a treasure put it a tier lower. Still, that two mutated Shituos could produce such a creature far exceeded Chen Guan's expectations.

This quality of mutated Tomb Lord held vastly greater value than mutated Shituos. The 1.91 growth rate marked it as exceptional even among uniques—most unique pets couldn't reach 1.9. Like Rouge, the Tomb Lord's growth rate was off the charts.
