Be Careful, Scum Dad! Mommy Is Back!
Chapter 425: Godfather and Godmother Like You

Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Godfather and Godmother Like You

In the warm, four-season climate of Country C, even the winds carry a touch of gentleness.

Little Dumpling wore a white, adorable peter-pan collared shirt, layered with sunny yellow overalls — gifts chosen and bought by her godmother, Ming Yuan.

Lu Nuonuo ran as she shouted, "Mommy, you’re back~"

Her two tiny pigtails swayed with her movements, adorned with butterfly hairpins on each side, her eyes gleaming with starlit excitement at the sight of her mother.

Lu Xining crouched down to catch her in an embrace, planting a kiss on her cheek, smoothing out her hair on both sides, and said with a warm smile, "My sweet darling."

"Nuonuo, aren’t you going to give your godmother a kiss too?" Ming Yuan feigned a hurt expression, instantly earning a blown kiss from the Little Dumpling.

Lu Nuonuo called out sweetly, "Pretty Godmother~ Nuonuo missed you sooo much, I missed you so much I could only finish half my milk powder."

Hearing her daughter’s familiar playful words, Lu Xining chuckled helplessly.

Ming Yuan wasted no time and enthusiastically took Little Dumpling from Lu Xining’s arms, leaning in to plant a kiss on her soft, rosy cheeks. "Sweet darling, Godmother missed you so much too!"

Lu Xining asked her daughter, "Nuonuo, where are your two brothers?"

"Big brothers are learning archery with Uncle Fu." As she spoke, she even mimicked an archery stance, and it looked surprisingly standard.

Afraid that Little Dumpling might feel left out while Ji Chao and Ji Ze were learning, Fu Junhang had specially prepared a mini version of the same plastic bow and arrows for her, complete with a tiny target. The arrows had suction cup tips, and the little set was satisfyingly realistic.

But she lost interest after playing with it just twice.

Lu Nuonuo nestled in her godmother’s arms, pointing to the nearby garden as she smiled, "Big brothers are over there. Uncle Fu said they need more practice."

She curiously glanced at the handsome uncle standing next to Ming Yuan. Her mischievous little eyes darted around before she beamed a bright and friendly smile at him.

An Cheng couldn’t help but smile back, feeling an instinctive fondness for this adorable little girl.

Putting her hands into a megaphone shape around her mouth, Lu Nuonuo leaned close to Ming Yuan’s ear and whispered inquisitively, "Godmother, is this doll-like uncle going to be my godfather in the future?"

Though she tried to speak softly, her words were anything but quiet.

An Cheng heard her clearly and turned his tender gaze toward Ming Yuan, quietly anticipating her response.

Since being with him, Ming Yuan had finally understood what being loved truly felt like. She’d learned what a normal, healthy romantic relationship meant. She was genuinely moved by his actions and felt real affection for him now.

"Nuonuo, do you want him to be your godfather?"

Little Dumpling didn’t answer immediately. She carefully studied An Cheng, noticed him proactively holding her godmother’s bag, then blinked her curious eyes and said, "If Godmother likes him, then Nuonuo likes him."

The unspoken message was clear: if Godmother likes him, then he’s my godfather; it all depends on Ming Yuan’s opinion.

Ming Yuan was utterly charmed by Lu Nuonuo’s words.

She kissed Little Dumpling’s fair cheek and didn’t feel any hesitation admitting her feelings for An Cheng.

She looked An Cheng straight in the eyes and said, "I like him. Godmother likes him very much."

Seeing their interaction, Lu Nuonuo covered her mouth to stifle her giggles. She then turned to An Cheng with a playful smile and called out, "Godfather, Godmother likes you~"

"Mm, Godfather knows," An Cheng replied, gazing at Ming Yuan with affectionate indulgence, his eyes brimming with love.

He had prepared many gifts for Lu Nuonuo.

All of them were tailored to the preferences of children, based on details he’d gathered from Ming Yuan herself.

Compared to the egotistical and flashy Su Ting, in Lu Nuonuo’s eyes, An Cheng was the most suitable boyfriend candidate at present.

After all, there could be many godfathers, but mothers only came in pairs.

Having not seen her mother in a long time, Lu Nuonuo was particularly clingy with Lu Xining. After snuggling with Ming Yuan for a bit, she soon returned to her mother’s embrace.

Lu Xining looked at her daughter, who had wrapped her small arms tightly around her neck, resting her head on her shoulder. The reliance and longing in her eyes made her heart melt into blissful softness.

"Let’s go find your brothers."

Within the estate’s old castle, Ming Yuan had lived there for several months and was very familiar with its layout. She offered to show An Cheng around while letting Lu Xining go check on the children first.

"Nuonuo, want to come play with Godmother?"

Little Dumpling shook her head. "Godmother, you go play with Godfather first. Nuonuo wants to spend time with Mommy."

Ming Yuan understood the child’s longing after being apart from her mother for several days. She nodded and walked hand-in-hand with An Cheng to another part of the garden for a leisurely stroll.

Lu Xining, meanwhile, carried her daughter to the small garden where her sons were practicing archery.

When they arrived, she discovered that Fu Junhang had set up a small-scale archery range here. The setup, from the equipment to the arrangements, had been meticulously designed to professional standards. Everything looked incredibly detailed and precise.

Ji Chao and Ji Ze wore protective gear for their archery training. Both of them practiced diligently.

Even though the bows they used were heavy and their arms tired from holding them up for long periods, they persisted nonetheless.

Lu Xining gestured to her daughter with a "shushing" motion, and the two stood at the corner of the small garden, quietly watching Ji Chao and Ji Ze practice archery.

The boys hadn’t noticed them yet.

But Fu Junhang had already spotted Lu Xining from the moment she arrived.

He nodded toward her and continued correcting the boys’ posture with a ruler in hand, pointing out their mistakes bit by bit.

Ji Chao’s interest in archery had been sparked after watching a video where Fu Junhang shot an eagle mid-flight. The sheer force of the arrow breaking through the air had captivated him, igniting a deep fascination.

As for Ji Ze, he had always followed his brother’s lead — whatever his brother learned, he wanted to learn too.

The two boys had made up their minds and approached Fu Junhang to request archery lessons.

Initially, the man hadn’t expected the boys to be so interested, nor could he fathom how they even knew he could shoot.

It wasn’t until he saw the tablet in Little Dumpling’s hands that he remembered recording demonstration videos on archery techniques for Lu Xining while teaching her.

The skills boys could gain from archery could undoubtedly hold practical value.

So, Fu Junhang eventually agreed.

In his opinion, even girls learning such skills could develop self-defense abilities, which was why he’d considered teaching all three of the children together.

However, he clearly underestimated the fact that Lu Nuonuo was just a two-year-old and had no real interest in such power-driven activities, leaving her bored after only two sessions.

Lu Nuonuo: I may only be two years old, but the adults seem to think I can learn a lot.

After finishing their archery practice for the day, Ji Chao and Ji Ze put away their bows and removed their gear. Turning around to find their sister, they immediately spotted Lu Xining and Lu Nuonuo.

"Mommy!" Ji Chao’s eyes lit up, and he dashed straight toward her.

Ji Ze followed close behind.

Little Dumpling had already climbed down from Lu Xining’s arms. As her mother embraced her two brothers, she dove right in as well. "Mommy, Brothers, Nuonuo wants a hug too!"

Lu Xining held all three of her children in her arms. The part of her heart that had been floating weightlessly finally settled back into its place.

When her eyes lifted, she met Fu Junhang’s gaze. Though their eye contact lasted for only the briefest moment, she still caught a glimpse of something that shouldn’t have been there.

... It seemed like it had been a long time since he called her "Sister Ning."
