Chapter 1231: Chapter 1250: Sudden Change

Wei Qin did not answer, and the veins on his hand holding the cup protruded faintly due to his grip.

"You’re a composed and restrained person, don’t act impulsively."

It was the first time in his life that he had been warned by the notoriously unreliable Huo Beijiang, which Wei Qin found both amusing and embarrassing.

"I know. Don’t worry, neither my father nor I will force Jiang Yang, nor will we bring any more trouble to him."

"What about the Lu Family? How come I heard that Lu Dongxin and Wei An are still staying in the clinic in the compound?" Huo Beijiang was a man who never went easy on his enemies and never left any loose ends. Otherwise, it would be harmful to others and oneself.

"I’ll handle it."

"Okay!" Huo Beijiang was genuinely frightened by Wei Qin’s pallid face. This was the childhood friend he’d grown up with, and among all his brothers, the only one he had never fought with. His long-lost conscience occasionally emerged with a bit of mercy.

"Don’t worry, I’ll help you," he said, winking at Wei Qin.

Wei Qin chuckled softly, "Cough cough... well, then I’ll thank you in advance."

"Why be polite among brothers? Just approve more of the new weapons for me. Let me trample the Owl Dragon Team and Lei Hao under my feet."

Wei Qin helplessly held his forehead, unsure of what to say.

"Right! I heard you’ve taken half a month’s leave, planning to take Jiang Nanfei and Jiang Yang back to your hometown?"

"Yeah!"

"It’s about time," Wei Qin muttered to himself, but eventually shook his head and said directly, "You can’t go back now. I guess Tu Cheng is already on the plane to Imperial City. Once he arrives, you’ll have to go with him."

Huo Beijiang was startled, "What happened?" Clearly, Wei Qin knew the news from the military in Imperial City faster.

"Your sworn brother is in trouble. The cruiser from the Southeast Military Region has already reached Tianjin Port Dock."

"My sworn brother?" Huo Beijiang cracked a mischievous smile, "You know, I have too many sworn brothers." Actually, he knew exactly who it was when he heard his sworn brother was in trouble! If someone else needed his help, they would just contact him privately.

Only that one from Kannaya could escalate to a military incident.

Back when he was on a rescue mission, he ended up trapped in a combat zone, and while others panicked and tried to contact headquarters to get back, he became sworn brothers with one of the local militia leaders and led an armed uprising with a few men. After fighting for over a year and successfully taking control, he returned openly.

Because of this, his rank was demoted four levels upon returning, assigned to guard the gate.

If Wei Qin wasn’t so patient, he would’ve kicked him already. It’s really baffling, how did he ever become good friends with such an infuriating person? Luckily, Bei Jiang hadn’t been in Imperial City these years, or Wei Qin would have been driven mad by now.

"Report!" Before Wei Qin could respond, Ning Di rushed over with fast steps, followed by a somewhat familiar person.

Upon closer inspection, it was Xi Liqun’s guard.

"Salute." The guard’s eyes lit up when he saw Huo Bei, "Major General Huo, it’s great that you haven’t left yet. The commander orders you to immediately return to the military headquarters. The car is waiting downstairs."

"I understand." Huo Bei’s expression turned a few degrees colder, and he hurriedly led the people downstairs.

His sworn brother was a born tyrant; if he caused trouble, it would shake the heavens—using guns and cannons was the least of it. Damn it! How dare he delay his wedding at a critical time like this?

Seeing that Major General Huo simply obeyed the order without a word, the guard’s high-suspended heart finally fell. The commander, treating Major General Huo as a troublesome figure, had sent him with a whole company of men.

If that didn’t work, they would have directly arrested him.

No wonder the army leaders had a love-hate relationship with Major General Huo; now, he understood.

There was a bit of commotion outside, and Nan Fei inside also heard it. She opened the door just as Bei Jiang was standing at the threshold. Before she could react, she was tightly embraced.
