Chapter 1216: Chapter 1235 Visitors
Huo Bei Jiang had left, and Huo Ke Wei pulled Ying Jiuming aside, whispering, "What on earth happened? Why did my little aunt suddenly faint?"
Ying Jiuming looked innocent, "I have no idea! Shouldn’t you be asking your little uncle about this?"
Huo Ke Wei glared at him, "If I could ask him, why would I be asking you?"
"I really don’t know."
"Then why did you come here?"
"Your little uncle sent me, saying it was because of the issue with Jiang Zhuanzhuan." Although Ying Jiuming didn’t know exactly what the issue was, he already had a guess. With that thought, he turned to glance at Jiang Yang.
The little guy was leaning against the wall, his small head drooping, looking utterly dejected.
This was the first time he had seen Jiang Yang so dejected. Usually, although the kid was also withdrawn and silent, it was because he looked down on these mere mortals and couldn’t be bothered to speak to them, giving the false impression of autism.
This silence was clearly different from before.
Ying Jiuming speculated it must have something to do with Jiang Yang, and Jiang Zhuanzhuan.
"How is Jiang Nanfei? Why do you all look so upset?" Ying Jiuming was both puzzled and concerned, his mind racing with wild thoughts. "It’s not a serious problem, is it? Is she hurt or sick?"
"Neither! None of that," Huo Ke Wei said irritably, "Why do you always assume something bad has happened to my little aunt?"
"Is it me who’s assuming?" Ying Jiuming was nearly laughing with frustration, "It’s obvious from all your faces looking like you’re mourning, one would think you’ve got some terminal illness!"
Ying Jiuming spoke without thinking, the words slipping out before he regretted them, wishing he could slap himself. He glanced around, everyone was staring at him, but he wasn’t afraid of the others. Fortunately, Bei Jiang wasn’t there; otherwise, he would have definitely wanted a showdown with Ying Jiuming for hearing those comments.
"Ptui ptui ptui... what an inauspicious thing to say," Fu Xin Wu made a shooing gesture.
Jiang Yang, with foggy eyes, looked at Ying Jiuming. Surprisingly, the usually reticent boy was the first to answer Ying Jiuming’s questions.
"My sister is fine," Jiang Yang’s voice was crisp, "The doctor said she fainted suddenly because the shock was too great, she was overwhelmed with grief and had received a stimulus."
"Ah? Stimulated by what?"
Jiang Yang blinked at Ying Jiuming. The rest of the group, taking the hint from his manner, all proposed to leave first, saying they would be informed if anything happened, and then they left. Huo Ke Wei and Fu Xin Wu didn’t forget to give Ying Jiuming a sideways glance before they left.
Fu Xin Wu: "Hmph! I never expected you to be so cunning." The little uncle is too biased, daring to tell Ying Jiuming something and not her.
Huo Ke Wei: "I really saw your true colors today." Taking the chance when he wasn’t paying attention, you sneakily raised your status so much.
After everyone had left, Jiang Yang finally said, "Do you remember the incident of me falling into the river last year?"
"Of course I remember!" That was a rare opportunity for Bei Jiang to play the hero. Without that chance, who knows where he would still be bacheloring now!
"It was my second sister who pushed me into the river," Jiang Yang said and then closed his eyes, the scene of falling into the river last year flashing before him.
He squatted by the river, lost in thought, while Jiang Zhuanzhuan spoke to him from behind with an undertone he had never heard before. She said he was superfluous, that she wished he had never existed, and that he brought pain to others even before he was born.
She expressed her hatred, despising his idiocy and his foolishness, and most of all, hating that he was born into this world. Without him, the Jiang family would have had a much better life, and so would she.
