Back at home, Feng Qingxue first takes them to wash their hands and faces, and changes their clothes which are covered in mud and dust.

The soup is accompanied by cracked corn mixed with brown rice, paired with a simple dish of stir-fried radish shreds.

Shen Qing’s salary is decent, totaling around 200 yuan per month including allowances. For Su Meixiang to add a couple of new outfits or shoes every year wouldn’t be an issue—even buying a wristwatch would be reasonable, and no one would criticize her for it.
