Chapter 1535: Chapter 1535: Huge Compensation 4
Peng Aihong, Zhou Fei’s mom, and Ding Min, Xu Cheng’s mom, both waved their hands. The two of them had a good relationship, and in the end, Ding Min was the one to speak. "No need, no need, Commander Ye. Our kids caused such big trouble, and the fact that you’re not holding them accountable for hitting Comrade Ye Yan already shows how generous you are. How could we let you compensate for the nutrition fees? Just going to the hospital and asking the doctor to handle it will be enough."
"Exactly, Commander Ye. Kids fight, don’t they? Fights are never one person’s fault. As long as there’s no injury to arms, legs, or heads, it’s a minor issue," Peng Aihong followed up, her face full of embarrassment. She then turned to Ye Yan. "I also need to apologize to you on Zhou Fei’s behalf. Comrade Ye Yan, I’m sorry!"
Ye Yan said nothing, just stood there coldly behind Ye Xiangqian.
Faced with someone like him, Peng Aihong felt a little awkward, and so did Ding Min, who was visibly uncomfortable. After entering the office, the first thing they had done was ask the kids about what happened. It was true that they had helped Shen Feng hit Ye Yan, and somehow the situation had devolved into a chaotic brawl. Both Shen Feng and Ye Yan had taken quite a few punches from their kids, and likewise, their kids hadn’t escaped unscathed from Shen Feng and Ye Yan’s punches.
Ye Xiangqian took all the blame upon himself and didn’t hold their sons accountable for fighting, which left them feeling deeply indebted.
"Ye Yan, what is with your attitude? Didn’t you hear what Auntie Zhou said?" Ye Xiangqian sternly scolded.
"I heard her. I accept it. Are you satisfied now? Why does all the blame have to fall on my dad?" Ye Yan retorted, his tone heavy with frustration. He shot a fierce glare at Zhou Fei and Xu Cheng before finally turning to Su Meixiang. "How much money do you want? Isn’t it all about the money for you? I’ll give you all the New Year money my grandparents gave me to compensate you!"
"What kind of way is that to talk!?" Su Meixiang responded, clearly displeased.
Ye Xiangqian felt a headache coming on immediately. "Ye Yan, shut your mouth! Comrade Su Meixiang, please don’t take what he said seriously. Children are children, after all. Naturally, the nutrition costs for the three kids are my responsibility as their father."
Only then did Su Meixiang’s expression relax.
From there, they moved on to take the kids to the hospital for their injuries. Since the incident started because of Fubao, Feng Qingxue took Fubao along with them.
Zhou Fei’s mom and Xu Cheng’s mom both said that applying some potion would suffice, but Su Meixiang was different. She made a fuss and demanded the doctor give Shen Feng a full-body examination. From head to limbs, liver to intestines, nothing was left unchecked—she only stopped short of plucking a strand of hair for testing.
Luckily, it was a military hospital, so all the procedures were free; otherwise, Ye Xiangqian would have faced a hefty bill.
Actually, Ye Xiangqian still ended up losing money—Su Meixiang outrageously demanded a hundred yuan for nutrition compensation.
"My son is so badly injured. He needs proper nourishment," she declared.
Before Ye Yan could erupt in anger, Ye Xiangqian hurriedly reached into his pocket, only to find he didn’t have a hundred yuan. Feng Qingxue quickly pulled out a hundred-yuan bill from her pocket and handed it to Ye Xiangqian, who in turn gave it to Su Meixiang.
Su Meixiang left satisfied, taking her son along with her. Meanwhile, Zhou Fei’s mom and Xu Cheng’s mom, both feeling embarrassed, quickly took their kids and said their goodbyes.
With everything that had happened, it was no longer necessary for Fubao to return to class.
Feng Qingxue informed the teacher, Ms. Zhao, who had accompanied them to the hospital, and then took Fubao home. Ye Xiangqian brought Ye Yan along to leave with them. On the way out of the hospital, Ye Xiangqian repeatedly apologized to Feng Qingxue and Fubao. "This trouble was all caused by my boy. I’m so sorry for involving Little Fubao in this. Fubao, how about I apologize to you on Ye Yan’s behalf, okay?"
Fubao shook his head and waved his little hands, saying, "Uncle Ye, you didn’t do anything wrong. You don’t need to apologize. Just make sure Ye Yan doesn’t fight anymore. Kids who fight aren’t good kids."
