Chapter 1508: Chapter 1508: Lu Family’s Great-Grandson 6
Xibao is still young, but his talent for learning surpasses even Feng Qingxue’s, and he has an exceptional memory, like an uncut jade waiting to be meticulously carved. Several professors from the foreign languages department are eager to keep Xibao close and teach him all they know.
It took quite an effort to escape from the professors’ home, and Xibao patted his chest.
"Mom, don’t bring me with you tomorrow. I’m afraid I won’t be able to leave at night." Those passionate looks were too intimidating.
Feng Qingxue couldn’t help but smile. Before this, she had taken the triplets and Fubao to visit the professors, but Xibao remained their favorite. Was it possible that he was truly born under a lucky star, loved by everyone he met?
Xibao tilted his face upward. "Mom, did you hear what I said?"
"I heard you. Tomorrow, we won’t go to Professor Ma’s house. Instead, we’ll visit Professor Xie’s. I’m facing some challenges with my medical thesis."
Xibao shook his head. "I won’t go to Grandpa Xie’s house either. I’ll stay home with Grandpa and practice calligraphy."
"Alright!" Faced with her son, who was about to turn ten, Feng Qingxue was more than willing to indulge him.
The year had turned, and before anyone realized it, April was here. Xibao’s birthday was just a little over a month away, but Jiang Xiaoyue gave birth first.
As her due date approached, Jiang Xiaoyue applied for maternity leave from the army. Originally, she had planned to stay at her parents’ home since it was closer to Lu Tianjun’s base. However, Feng Qingxue found this unsuitable. A married daughter staying with her natal family during confinement could invite gossip from outsiders, so she and Lu Tianzhi brought her to their home instead. After all, there was no shortage of rooms, and the rest of the family could squeeze together to accommodate her.
Moreover, with Feng Qingxue taking care of her, Jiang Xiaoyue looked glowing and radiant. Her brother and sister-in-law visited twice and saw how well she was doing, bringing large packages each time before leaving satisfied.
Feng Qingxue and Wang Cuilan had long prepared the maternity kit. On the seventh day after Jiang Xiaoyue returned home, she went into labor, and they immediately took her to the hospital.
The delivery lasted a bit longer—labor started one day and ended with the birth the next morning—but everything went smoothly.
"It’s a chubby baby boy!" The obstetrician at the Capital Hospital smiled. "Seven pounds and one ounce. Both mother and child are safe!"
Feng Qingxue took a few days off and hurriedly said, "Thank you, Dr. Cheng!"
She and Wang Cuilan went into the delivery room first, while Lu Father stayed outside watching over the five younger children. He was beaming with joy—this was the Lu Family’s fourth-generation great-grandchild, and being the eldest grandson of the main line, he symbolized the continuity of the Lu Family’s legacy.
"Ayu is at home making millet porridge and stewing carp soup. I’ll go back and bring it over for Sister-in-law!"
Lu Tianzhi jumped up in excitement. The crying, robust little baby was his eldest nephew.
Lu Father waved him off. "Go quickly. I’ll wait a bit longer before heading home."
Once everything inside was tidied up, he wanted to take a good look at his first little great-grandchild.
Before long, his wish was granted. Feng Qingxue poked her head out and said, "Dad, come in and take a look at the chubby boy Xiaoyue gave birth to. His features resemble Xibao’s baby face!"
"Coming, coming!" Resembling Xibao? That just meant he looked like Lu Tianjun!
Lu Father cradled his great-grandchild with a broad grin, teeth showing with joy. After saying a few words of appreciation to Jiang Xiaoyue, Xibao brought his siblings over to take a peek. "Grandpa, lower him, lower him so we can see the little baby. We’re officially uncles and aunts now!"
"Alright, alright!" Lu Father bent down with the baby.
Jiang Xiaoyue was strong and healthy. During her pregnancy, she hadn’t neglected her diet and even gained a bit of weight, but her energy and vitality were excellent. After giving birth, she remained spirited. "This rascal! Fubao guessed it right. Grandpa, give the baby a name so we can get a birth certificate from the hospital to buy milk powder."
"Xi, Lu Xi." He was born just as the sun rose, its rays glimmering brightly.
