Chapter 328: Chapter 327: Just Want to Know What You Like

Mianmian said so, and Gu Youyou gladly received the dolls, smiling and thanking Mianmian before handing the little rabbit doll to her mom.

After passing on the doll, Gu Youyou snuggled up to her mom and whispered in her ear, "Mom, I’ve wanted this doll for so long, and Mianmian gave it to me. I also want to give Mianmian a gift in return, is that okay?"

Liu Hui smiled and nodded when her daughter took the initiative to give a return gift. She leaned in to whisper back, "Of course, you can. Didn’t mom manage your New Year’s money for you? You can find out what your good friend likes and then give her a gift."

Liu Hui was actually thinking of letting her daughter naturally discover what her good friend liked during their interaction. But upon reflection, she felt that such a task might be too difficult for a four-year-old child, so she just let nature take its course.

Asking directly about what someone likes to plan a gift might seem un-surprising between adults, but when it comes to children, asking directly isn’t a big deal.

"Alright, the last activity for today is parent-child crafting. Parents, please work together with the children to create handprint paintings. We’ll display them in the showcase area at the back of the classroom. Later on, we’ll also add photos of all the parents and children to make our Class Three family even more complete."

Gu Youyou had intended to ask Mianmian directly what she liked, but upon hearing the teacher announce the next activity, she obediently followed the plan.

She moved her little chair over to sit next to Mianmian only to discover that Situ Zha had also moved his chair closer.

Gu Youyou glared at Situ Zha with round eyes and said in the fiercest tone she could muster, "The spot next to Mianmian is mine."

Situ Zha stared back at Gu Youyou.

Fearing that Situ Zha might be mean to her little friend again, Mianmian squeezed her head between them, turning to look at Situ Zha.

Situ Zha indeed wanted to be fierce with Gu Youyou, but just as he finished making his stern face, a little bald head popped up in front of him. He stared into the little bald head’s dark eyes for a few seconds, scoffed, then pulled his chair over to sit opposite Mianmian.

Everyone sat around the table as the teacher distributed art supplies and demonstrated how to print their fingers. To foster the children’s creativity, beyond the requirement to print the shape of their palms, the children were allowed to decorate their handprints however they liked.

Mianmian listened carefully to the instructions and, when finished, turned to ask Su Chenjin on her other side, "Did you understand, my big little nephew? If you didn’t understand, Little Auntie can teach you."

Su Chenjin picked up a sheet of white paper and replied, "Big little nephew understood."

Relieved, Mianmian let Su Chenjin first press his big palm onto the white paper, then she stamped her own little palm. With the prints ready, the rest of the painting was easy.

She assigned Su Chenjin the task of decorating the palms before grabbing a handful of shiny trinkets from a box and started sticking them onto the palms.

Liu Hui saw this and pointed it out to her daughter, "Youyou, look, Mianmian seems to really like shiny things."

Guided by Liu Hui, Gu Youyou began observing Mianmian.

Finding that Mianmian was indeed using a lot of blue shiny trinkets, she tilted her head and whispered to her mom, "Mom, help me remember, Mianmian likes blue shiny things."

Liu Hui took out her mobile phone and seriously noted down the words, showing her daughter, "Look, mom has written it down for you."

Gu Youyou was then reassured.

Mianmian overheard the conversation between Gu Youyou and Liu Hui.

She looked up and asked Gu Youyou, "Why do you want to note down that Mianmian likes blue shiny things?"

Gu Youyou immediately started to say, "Because, because I want to give you..."

She stopped mid-sentence, suddenly recalling how once her dad had prepared white shiny trinkets at home and told her not to tell mom, as it was a surprise gift that would lose the joy of unexpectedly receiving a present if mentioned.

That time, she kept dad’s secret, and mom was so happy when she saw the gift that she kissed dad several times!

If she didn’t tell Mianmian this time, would Mianmian also give her several kisses when receiving the gift?

Gu Youyou, contemplating this, stopped speaking halfway.

Mianmian just kept looking at Gu Youyou, waiting for her to finish talking.

"It’s nothing, I just wanted to know what you like." Set on not telling Mianmian, Gu Youyou’s face flushed red, and she picked out many blue shiny trinkets for Mianmian, "This way, Youyou can help you pick them, and they’re all for you."

"Thank you." Mianmian saved the shining decorations her good friend passed to her and also picked out some for Gu Youyou who was close by.

She noticed that Gu Youyou liked pink.

Situ Zha sat across from the two girls, glancing at their faces from time to time, picking out all the black decorations from the plate, and also taking a lot of black crayons.

Situ Zha’s mom looked at her son doing this with a somewhat helpless look in her eyes.

For some reason, her son really liked black, and the color he used the most in his drawings was black.

The preferences of children are free, but even a pitch-black drawing can indeed make people feel uncomfortable. Even as a mother, she had to admit that.

All she could do was respect her son’s preferences and not say anything else.

As Situ Zha’s mom thought about this, she began to paint some colors on her palm that matched well with black.

At one table, four adults sat, three of whom were dressing up their drawings with the children. Only Pan Li’s mom felt complicated. Her son’s palm was a mess from painting, and she wasn’t in the mood to care, her mind still on the words Mianmian had said.

Her child was born from her womb, how could he not look like her?

Why? Why couldn’t she find anything that resembled her in him?

As Pan Li’s mom pondered, she took out her mobile phone, brought up pictures of herself as a child and compared them side by side with her son’s.

Looking back and forth, she still felt no resemblance.

Pan Li’s mom started searching for information related to the Su Family’s Little Auntie again, confirming once more that everyone said Little Auntie’s fortune-telling was very accurate before finally making up her mind and plucking a strand of hair from her son’s head.

Pan Li was doodling on the paper, oblivious to his hair being pulled.

Su Chenjin glanced over at Pan Li’s mom and then bent down to continue helping Mianmian with her decorations.

Half an hour later, all the children’s palm paintings were decorated.

Teacher Liao stuck them on the wall in the order they were finished, with Mianmian’s right in the middle, right next to Gu Youyou and Situ Zha’s.

The kindergarten’s morning parent-child event came to an end, and the adults had to part with the children. They would come back at four-thirty in the afternoon to pick up their kids.

Su Chenjin squatted down to say goodbye to Mianmian.

"Little Auntie, your grand-nephew has to go to work now."

Mianmian nodded her head and suddenly wondered about getting home, so she asked, "Is Mianmian going home by herself tonight?"

Su Chenjin smiled, "No, my parents will come to pick you up."

"Okay then, goodbye grand-nephew~"

Little Bun waved her little paws.

Su Chenjin turned to leave and took out his mobile phone to check a message.

Just in time, a report from Jin Tai came in: "President Su, the Pan family’s company has been dealt with by the Management Bureau."

Su Chenjin raised an eyebrow and coolly replied, "Hmm, I will be back at the company immediately. Organize a meeting. I want it to start as soon as I arrive. The topic: how to welcome our partners."

The American partners he had promised to meet with Mianmian were coming to Dragon Country in three days, right on the weekend.

Once the plan was discussed, he, as a great grand-nephew, would have to report back to Little Auntie.
