Chapter 325: Chapter 324: It’s Normal for Children to be Mischievous

When Mianmian heard Gu Youyou muttering, she knew Gu Youyou was likely talking about Wang Ze, who initially wanted to bully them but then stopped and started playing with them instead.

But Mianmian couldn’t understand why Gu Youyou mentioned Zhazha.

She looked curiously at her best friend, who was whispering to herself, and after a few moments, turned to look at Situ Zha.

Coincidentally, Situ Zha was also looking at her and suddenly made a fierce grimace with bared teeth.

Mianmian furrowed her tiny eyebrows and immediately pulled a face at Situ Zha, scrunching her eyebrows and baring her teeth in return.

Situ Zha seemed taken aback that she had responded with a grimace. After a brief pause, he pulled his eyelids down with his hand, making a new grimace.

Mianmian used her fingers too, stretching her mouth wide to show a row of tiny white teeth, defiantly responding.

The two kids, from a distance, provoked each other with faces, each one more exaggerated than the last.

They were so focused on their competition that they forgot they were spinning around and nearly bumped into the other children who had stopped.

Teacher Liao said helplessly, "Su Mianmian, Situ Zha, you were making faces instead of following the rules of the game, so the teacher is going to have to ask you to sit in the time-out corner now."

It was only then that Mianmian snapped back to reality, and said apologetically, "I’m sorry, Teacher. Mianmian was wrong, Mianmian shouldn’t have broken the rules of the game."

She admitted her mistake very quickly, but seeing Situ Zha across from her making a new grimace, she couldn’t help but make another one in return.

That really irritated Teacher Liao!

"Su Mianmian, you apologized and then made another face. You’re not really sorry. Go sit in the time-out corner. And you, Situ Zha, aren’t you going to apologize?"

Situ Zha stood with his hands in his pockets, an indifferent look on his face, "It was just a bit of fun, why should I apologize?"

His attitude gave Teacher Liao a bit of a headache.

Since Situ Zha was a new student and seemed to have a bit of an attitude, admitting no wrong even when he made a mistake, she could only say, "Then please go to the time-out corner and think about the consequences of your actions."

Though the parents were present, rules were rules and could not be broken, and it couldn’t be said that children who broke them should go without any kind of punishment.

Otherwise, what was the point of going to school?

"Tsk, fine, I’ll go. It’s not like I want to play this boring game anyway," Situ Zha said nonchalantly as he walked to the time-out corner.

The time-out corner was in the classroom corner, facing the wall, with three little chairs placed there specifically for the kids to sit and think calmly. The wall had a rule chart stuck to it which, through pictures, told the children to think seriously and remain silent while sitting there.

Under Teacher Liao’s direction, Liu Anan walked over to the time-out corner to accompany the two little rule-breakers.

She didn’t say a word, just stood to one side and looked at Mianmian with an expression full of disbelief.

These two kids, who seemed like they could face demons without batting an eye and even punch them to death, very impressive, even more so than the adults!

But as it turned out, kids were still kids and could still make mistakes, ending up punished in the corner, facing the wall to reflect on their actions.

Liu Anan’s look didn’t escape Situ Zha’s notice.

He pursed his lips and suddenly gestured for Liu Anan to come closer with a beckon of his finger, "Come here."

As Liu Anan approached, she heard Situ Zha ask, "Can you see them too?"

Liu Anan was startled, "See what?"

Situ Zha just smiled, then glanced at Mianmian again.

Mianmian was also looking at Situ Zha.

She knew what Situ Zha was asking, whether she could see the demons or not. But now that she was already being punished and sitting there, talking might once again anger Teacher Liao, so she quickly covered her mouth, trying to keep quiet.

It was because she hadn’t kept quiet earlier, getting a bit angry at Situ Zha’s grimace, that she had ended up making faces with him.

"If you behave, you won’t be punished!"

Thinking of her great-nephew still filming her, Mianmian worriedly looked towards Su Chenjin and indeed found the great-nephew still pointing the mobile phone at her.

This was even worse, as the misbehaving little auntie would definitely be posted to the group for everyone to see.

Mianmian quickly covered her face and turned towards the wall, not daring to look back, as if this would prevent her family from knowing it was her who had made a mistake.

Su Chenjin was amused by the little auntie’s reaction and heard the voice of Situ Zha’s mother, "I’m sorry, Mr. Su, my child is quite mischievous, and it’s caused your Mianmian to make a mistake as well."

"It’s alright." Su Chenjin looked at the little auntie who had curled up into a ball and felt that this was even better, so he added, "It’s normal for children to be mischievous, and adults make mistakes too."

Weren’t Su Chaoyu and Su Chaoyang mischievous as well?

It is natural for children of this age to do things that defy logic - that accounts for a complete childhood. Always being restrained and involved in "big things" that adults should do would be tiring for the little auntie too.

Situ Zha’s mother, relieved to hear that Su Chenjin truly didn’t mind, sighed and added, "As a mother, I actually see my child through rose-tinted glasses, I think he is good in every way. But at his previous kindergarten, he was often criticized by teachers for not fitting in, having a strange personality, and not liking to talk. I’m usually busy and always leave him with the nanny."

"Even when I have the time to take him out to play, he doesn’t interact with other children."

"Just now, seeing him make faces at your Mianmian, I felt quite happy, inappropriate as that may sound, as it was the first time I saw him actively playing with another child like that."

Su Chenjin became interested in Situ Zha when he learned that Situ Zha could disperse ghosts with a single punch.

Now, hearing about Situ Zha from his mother, he said, "Hmm, go on."

Situ Zha’s mother was taken aback by Su Chenjin’s reaction.

She had only started talking about her son because she had been eager to share her thoughts. Why did Su Chenjin suddenly seem like he was conducting a serious meeting, even asking her to continue?

"You, you want to hear about my son?" Situ Zha’s mother asked tentatively.

Su Chenjin nodded slightly.

He would listen first, then investigate.

Having heard it in person and then integrating the information after an investigation might reveal more issues.

His affirmative answer surprised Situ Zha’s mother.

She couldn’t help but take another look at Mianmian in the corner.

The little girl was sitting against the wall, her bald head still reflecting light.

Transforming a well-known cold and merciless CEO of North City into a fatherly figure who was also willing to understand other children must surely be because of love, right?

The Su Family’s home atmosphere was truly wonderful, with girls receiving fair treatment as well.

Situ Zha’s mother smiled and began talking about her son again, "Rest assured, my Zhazha may have a bit of an odd temper, and well, he’s naturally quite strong, even bending spoons and such."

"But he doesn’t use his strength for bad things, never bullies or hits anyone, he just isn’t very sociable, that’s all."

"If you investigate at his previous kindergarten, you might hear other parents say that he loves to bully other children. But I know my son, and he’s not the type to bully the weak."

"So rest assured, if he makes friends with your Mianmian, he won’t do anything terrible."

Su Chenjin knew as soon as he heard it that Situ Zha’s mother had misunderstood him.

He didn’t inquire about Situ Zha to find out whether he bullied other children. More precisely, he had never worried that his little auntie would be bullied by anyone.

"Other than being strong, what else?" Su Chenjin proactively steered the conversation towards what he wanted to know, "What does he usually do, who does he come in contact with?"

Yang Xian had been contacted by Hu Yaoyao, and after being bewitched, he intended to harm the little auntie.

It was possible that Situ Zha might be the same.
