Chapter 295 - 294: Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness

Chapter 295: 294: Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness

The Yama Realm was the first king realm to be established in the Northern Divine Region. Back then, the Yama Ancestors relied on the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness, located at the center of the Divine Region to establish their realm. Later, the other two king realms also chose to settle near the Bone Sea due to the incredibly dense darkness found there.

Flying behind the trio, Yun Wuji didn’t say a word. He looked straight ahead, completely uninterested in any of them.

Yan Tianxiao and Yan Wu also showed no interest in engaging with him. The only one who kept glancing at him from time to time was Yan Jie, as if he wanted to say something but was too afraid of his father.

The closer Yun Wuji got to the Yama Realm, the darker his surroundings grew.

"Royal Father, sending this man with us with no protection, what is Chi Wuyao thinking?" Yan Wu sent a sound transmission to her father, her brows tightly knit in a frown.

"I’m not sure. But what I am certain of is that this man’s soul has already fallen into that woman’s hands," Yan Tianxiao replied. From his earlier behavior and Chi Wuyao’s confidence, he felt fairly certain of his guess.

"Are we really going to let him enter the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness to meet the Venerable Ancestors, or do you plan to lock him up instead?" Yan Wu asked.

If they could obtain this man’s talent and use it to transform all their cultivators into ones completely compatible with darkness, they would no longer have anything to fear.

"Imprison him?" Yan Tianxiao scoffed. "What’s the point in that? This man is completely under that woman’s control! Even if we keep him in the Yama Realm, he won’t lift a finger without Chi Wuyao’s command. How could that woman possibly make such a low-level mistake?"

He knew Chi Wuyao better than anyone in this Divine Region. That woman’s ruthlessness and cruel methods could send chills down the spine of even the strongest God Emperor. Her ambition was only surpassed by her cunning.

She must have had a purpose for sending this man with them, but for now, he couldn’t figure out what it was. Could it be the Bone Sea? But what could he possibly do?

A person’s imagination is limited by their experience and common sense. Yan Tianxiao couldn’t think of anything remotely close to what was about to happen to them.

"Then are you planning to kill him?" Yan Wu narrowed her eyes and asked. Although she felt grateful to this man, if it was for the sake of the Yama Realm, she wouldn’t hesitate to kill him.

"That’s pointless, too. Chi Wuyao has already transformed all her combat forces and probably squeezed every bit of value from this pitiful man. I wouldn’t be surprised if she also learned the skill he used earlier. So even if we kill him, we won’t gain anything," Yan Tianxiao replied calmly. "On the contrary, we’ll only earn her enmity."

"But... I have a feeling this woman is plotting something. Her actions don’t match her character at all," Yan Wu said.

"We will take things step by step and keep a close eye on him," Yan Tianxiao said after a moment of silence.

Eight hours later, the group finally entered the star region of the Yama Realm.

The dark aura in this place was clearly thicker than that of the Soul Stealing Realm. This alone ensured that all dark profound practitioners who cultivated here had a natural advantage over those from the other two king realms.

A city appeared before them, shrouded in an invisible fog. Everywhere one looked, or checked with spiritual perception, a grayish smoke rose from the soil.

The city in front of them was none other than the capital of the Yama Devils, the infamous Yama Imperial District of the Northern Divine Region.

Because it was located within the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness, the Yama Imperial District had been bathed in the dark yin energy of the primordial devil bones since its inception. As a result of this, it was the best place in the Northern Divine Region to cultivate darkness profound energy. This was also the biggest reason for the Yama Realm’s dominance in the Northern Divine Region.

"Young Master Jiao, this way," Yan Tianxiao said as they landed in the Devil Palace of Eternal Darkness.

"..." Yun Wuji nodded lightly and followed silently.

"Your Majesty!" Along the way, servants and Yama Ghosts greeted them with respect.

Yan Tianxiao nodded casually and continued on his way, still quietly discussing with his daughter. Honestly, he was very disappointed with his son’s performance today, and even more disappointed that he was having this conversation with his daughter instead of his son, the crown prince.

He loved his daughter; she was his pride and joy, but Yan Jie was the crown prince. It was his job to handle these matters, not Yan Wu’s.

"Are you really going to let him meet the Venerable Ancestors?" Yan Wu asked once again. This was the third time she’d asked the same question.

"...Yes," Yan Tianxiao replied after a moment of silence. He was hesitant about this. On one hand, he wasn’t sure if Chi Wuyao was scheming something. On the other hand, he worried the Yama Ancestors might suddenly tear the man to shreds, which could cause conflict with her as well.

Right now, he really wanted to avoid any conflict with that woman.

The entrance to the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness lay at the center of the Devil Palace of Eternal Darkness.

A cold, dark wind brushed past Yun Wuji’s skin when he entered a huge, dark hall. The end of the hall was covered in dozens of darkness formations, and at the center of them was a black, bottomless pit where not even a ray of light could be seen.

Yun Wuji released his spiritual perception. The darkness energy flowing out of the open maw was so thick that it almost clung to the body. Occasionally, he could hear terrifying noises that sounded like the wails of devils or ghouls.

"This is the entrance to the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness."

Yan Tianxiao’s expression was serious and devout as he introduced the Bone Sea of Eternal Darkness to Yun Wuji.

"The three ancestors have been in seclusion for a very long time. If a stranger suddenly appeared and bragged, they might misunderstand and attack immediately," Yan Tianxiao explained. Then he turned to his son and ordered, "Jie’er, go and inform the Venerable Ancestors."

"Yes, Royal Father!" Yan Jie said before jumping straight into the abyss.

The trio stood still before the giant maw-like hole. Yun Wuji glanced down into the abyss silently.

Yan Wu stood to his right, stealing glances at him. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t curious. After all, this was the man Chi Wuyao said had created an unparalleled profound skill and that ridiculously powerful pill. She sighed inwardly. This man was blessed by heaven with incredible talent, but had fallen into the hands of that devilish woman.

After nearly half an hour, Yan Jie rushed out of the giant hole and said, "Royal Father, I have informed the Venerable Ancestors."

"Good. In that case, Young Master Jiao, you may go ahead," Yan Tianxiao said, turning to Yun Wuji. Then he added to his daughter, "Wu’er, follow him to ensure his ’safety.’"

There was no way he would foolishly let Yun Wuji go alone. On one hand, it was to keep watch over anything he might do; on the other, it was a precaution against the ancestors themselves. After all, the ancestors had lived in the Bone Sea for over 800,000 years, their souls and minds completely warped, developing many strange mental illnesses.

They had many strange and disgusting habits, like ripping people’s bodies apart and even eating them.

It wouldn’t be surprising if they suddenly tried to kill Yun Wuji just for fun.

"Yes, Royal Father," Yan Wu said, and the two walked to the edge of the hole and jumped.

Falling into the hole, Yun Wuji closed his eyes and took a deep breath, wind infused with yin energy roared past his ears. The deeper he fell, the more violent the yin energy became.

Grudge, hatred, death, killing intent... all kinds of negative emotions were blasting against his face with a repulsive stench. Any person in his situation would believe that they were falling toward the mythical purgatory.

The two of them accelerated their descent, but even then, it took several minutes before their feet finally slammed against the bottom of the abyss.

The particular area he landed in wasn’t completely covered in darkness. Countless devil bones were gleaming with phosphorescence. But instead of chasing away the terror, the tiny light only made the world of darkness even scarier and more oppressive than it already was.

The darkness profound energy here was so thick that it was practically solid. Yun Wuji almost felt like he was floating in the middle of a water current. Darkness profound energy roared into every corner of his body like miniature tempests without any intent from him at all.

Tap!

"Heh... hehe... hehehehe...

Suddenly, the sound of tumbling bones and a twisted laugh came from somewhere in the darkness. It made the black graveyard even scarier than before.

Turning toward the direction the sinister laughter came from, Yan Wu called out, "Venerable Ancestors!"
