Chapter 555: Chapter 345 This Dolphin is Not Right
It was already evening, and Chu Mingcheng only managed to find two Butter Crabs before it got completely dark.
Even though Green Crabs are more likely to crawl out of their burrows at night, he didn’t have night vision. Besides, he only wanted to catch a couple to taste, so he handed the Green Crabs to Jiang Luoluo and headed straight into the water to swim.
The water at the Pearl River Estuary was mostly muddy yellow, turning a bit greener farther out. In any case, the water was quite turbid.
But Chu Mingcheng, who had just crawled through the muddy ground, didn’t mind the dirt and washed off the sea mud from his legs after swimming into the water, then swam back to the Hei Yao.
Jiang Luoluo had returned to the yacht first using the dinghy, which she drove directly onto the extended platform at the stern.
She then moved her stuff onto the yacht and pressed a button, causing the platform with the dinghy on it to retract automatically into the stern.
Not only that, but the compartment for the dinghy, like a dishwasher, would rinse the dinghy with clean water and then blow-dry it with cool air.
By the time Chu Mingcheng climbed back onto the yacht, he had stripped down to his boxer shorts.
He then went to the side of the yacht and pulled out a hose to rinse off.
After a little while, Jiang Luoluo handed him a towel.
Chu Mingcheng roughly dried off his body, then joined her in entering the cabin.
Bathing outside with shampoo and body wash would lead to pollution, as they’d flow into the ocean with the deck water. Therefore, after returning to the cabin, he went straight to the bathroom, while Jiang Luoluo started preparing dinner with the Butter Crabs.
That evening, when she tasted the Butter Crabs, Jiang Luoluo, like Chu Mingcheng, was immediately astounded by their deliciousness.
First-time experiences with good food always leave a deep impression, but the second time isn’t usually as remarkable.
At least that was the case for Chu Mingcheng; after tasting Butter Crab for the first time, he kept thinking about it, even going through the trouble to catch some in the tidal flats.
But after eating it today, he wouldn’t be as keen to look for more.
"Do you like them? If you do, I’ll catch a few more for you tomorrow," he said.
Of course, there were exceptions. If his wife liked them, he wouldn’t mind the trouble.
Jiang Luoluo felt a bit conflicted, but ultimately shook her head. "Let’s not. We’ll leave it as a memory for next year. Besides, our yacht is too close to the shore, and if we stay here tomorrow, we might attract an audience."
What she mentioned, being surrounded by onlookers, had happened more than once.
Just the appearance of the Hei Yao alone looked incredibly stylish. When they returned and docked at the port, they often found themselves the center of attention.
Of course, being watched was one thing, but what was troublesome were those without manners, who would take photos and even try to board the yacht or flirt with the captain.
As the captain’s wife, how could Jiang Luoluo stand it?
She immediately displayed the demeanor of a true wealthy beauty, letting those women know their place.
"Alright, then we’ll leave after a while," said Chu Mingcheng, who also remembered those incidents. With a bittersweet smile, he readily agreed.
After dinner, the couple washed the dishes together.
Then, moving from the living room to the cockpit, they started the Hei Yao and set off.
The yacht first stopped near a small island they had found on the way, called out the Killer Whales playing there, and then continued heading south.
It wasn’t until around midnight that Chu Mingcheng anchored near a group of rocks and went back to sleep.
Little did he know, the random spot he had picked to stop was actually a treasure trove.
It was only the next morning, when he came up on deck to exercise, that he discovered the exposed rocks nearby were covered with a large number of Pacific Oysters.
There are many species of oysters, but the Pacific Oyster is common in China, which is the kind you’d find at a barbecue stall, growing up to twenty centimeters long.
Oysters, the milk of the sea. And at the point where the rocks met the seawater, he could occasionally see a couple of exceptionally large ones as the water receded.
Chu Mingcheng guessed there must be many large ones underwater.
They happened to have two big buckets of delicious secret garlic sauce on the yacht, perfect for grilling oysters. Since they had come across such an ideal batch, they certainly couldn’t pass it up.
Chu Mingcheng found Jiang Luoluo, who had already gotten up and was washing her face. "Luoluo, I found some nice-looking oysters on the rocks nearby. I’m going to pry some off to bring back."
"Oysters? That’s great, we can grill them for lunch."
"Sure, you prepare breakfast after you’re done, and I’ll change into my diving suit to go get some," he replied.
"Alright, I’ll join you in the afternoon."
Chu Mingcheng smiled at her words, casually agreeing before he went to change into his diving suit, took a large net bag and an oyster prying tool, and jumped into the water from the deck.
With his speed, he estimated that it would only take a short while in the morning to collect a large bucketful, more than enough for their meal. They would definitely set sail again in the afternoon.
As he approached the rocks, Chu Mingcheng was surprised to find the ecosystem there was incredibly well-preserved.
In front of him, schools of fish swam about leisurely.
Even plenty of colorful fish darted through the crevices of the rocks.
This place was about seventy to eighty nautical miles from the coast, which was beyond the reach of regular nearshore fishing boats.
Larger fishing vessels were busy catching big schools of fish and didn’t take much interest in these small gatherings.
Chu Mingcheng then moved closer to the oysters and along the way, spotted some pufferfish.
He hadn’t fished for this kind of fish before and felt a little itchy to try.
However, looking at the tools in his hand, which were only for prying oysters, he decided to let it go.
After all, pufferfish aren’t a rare species, and there was a good chance they would encounter more on their journey, so there was no need to rush.
Swimming to the surface, Chu Mingcheng reached a rock covered with oysters and then realized that there were quite a few pry marks on the oysters around the rocks.
