Chapter 539: Chapter 338: Decision to Upgrade the Atlas_2
"Let’s go, we still need to plan out our new house!"
They don’t need to worry about renovation and large appliances and furniture, as the new home already has everything.
They need to buy some daily necessities, like quilts and such.
For the master bedroom layout, Jiang Luoluo also had some thoughts of her own.
The couple went all out with household items, ensuring that all rooms were well stocked, so they wouldn’t be caught without bedding if guests came over.
Chu Mingcheng also took the opportunity to spend one hundred thousand Big Coins to build six top-of-the-line personal computers for home use.
One was placed in the study, while the rest were set up in the basement gaming room.
When it comes to gaming, no laptop, no matter how good, can compare to a desktop.
Of course, Chu Mingcheng didn’t forget to buy VR, PS4, and other gaming consoles.
Guys, after all, can’t be fickle players, but that doesn’t mean they can’t game during their downtime, right?
The two quickly purchased what they needed and had the stores deliver everything to their door.
Afterward, they hurried to the new house to register with the property management, then called several housekeepers to clean every nook and cranny of the house.
The villa was equipped with smart home devices, with several robotic vacuum cleaners taking care of the floors. Calling housekeeping twice a week was sufficient for anything else.
No way would they clean by themselves – cleaning such a big house is way too tiring!
By the time they returned to Jiang Luoluo’s apartment, it was already past eight in the evening.
Busy all day, both were a bit tired, now sitting on the couch to rest.
"When shall we throw the housewarming party?" Jiang Luoluo asked.
As Chu Mingcheng massaged her legs, he thought for a moment and said, "In a few days, we should at least ask my uncles and aunts, and also my parents, when they’re free, then we can set a date."
"Sure!" Jiang Luoluo naturally had no objections.
But as she lay there, she started to feel something was off – his hands went higher and higher while massaging.
She rolled her eyes coquettishly and sat up on Chu Mingcheng’s lap...
The next day, Jiang Luoluo went to the studio to work, there might be a business trip looming because of some recent matters.
Chu Mingcheng continued to the new house, waiting for the broadband installation workers to set up the internet.
China Telecom had a better signal, though it was a bit more expensive than China Mobile, the internet speed was indeed a lot faster.
He also bought a modem and ten routers to cover every room and the living area with Wi-Fi signal.
With a big house, it’s tough to say if a signal booster would be effective.
During the renovation, they had already planned for this and left a designated space for routers, so they didn’t need to be on display.
After getting the internet set up, Chu Mingcheng continued on to do some shopping.
Both of the built-in refrigerators at home were empty; one was for storing meat and vegetables, and the other was purely for keeping drinks chilled.
No sooner had he finished shopping and arrived home than Chen Yang and Zhang Wei, along with their girlfriends, came over. They had heard about Chu Mingcheng’s new house the day before and had each brought their girlfriends to take a look.
"Whoa, this is your new home?" Just by arriving at the community gate, Zhang Wei had anticipated the house would be luxurious.
But once inside, he immediately turned green with envy.
"How is it, not bad, right?" Chu Mingcheng couldn’t help but show off a little. After all, fishing out a rich and beautiful wife and a luxurious villa, he felt like a winner in life. It’s hard not to feel smug!
"Actually, it’s pretty amazing. How much did it cost?" As Chen Yang led Zhang Youning by the hand, inspecting the house from top to bottom, he asked thoughtfully.
"Thirty-two million, but since I saved the landlord’s life on a previous ocean trip, he probably gave me a hefty discount. I didn’t ask for the exact amount, though."
Chu Mingcheng had a ballpark figure in his mind. Even if Hu Xiangdong came up with various excuses, he knew he must have received a substantial discount.
But he genuinely liked and needed that house, so he didn’t bother about the discount.
"There was an incident like that?" Everyone was taken aback by the price, but they were somewhat surprised to learn about Chu Mingcheng’s life-saving deed for the landlord.
"Thirty-two million, how many years would I have to earn to afford that?" Zhang Wei was stunned. He’d considered buying a suitable house himself but was too strapped for cash.
As for Chen Yang, his family’s foundation was solid.
Though thirty-two million was a lot, with family support and a mortgage, it wasn’t impossible.
But the interest on such an expensive house was too much, making him hesitate to rush into buying a non-investment property.
Zhang Wei, however, simply couldn’t afford it, even if his girlfriend could contribute some; they couldn’t gather enough money in a short period.
But with Chu Mingcheng’s recent fishing catch of over ten million, his net profit was at least one million. Although part of the profit had to be shared, he still made quite a bit.
Even if future earnings weren’t as high and he had to expand and reinvest in the business, his annual income wouldn’t be small.
A few years of hard work and it was possible he could afford it.
But at such a pace of earning, it didn’t make sense to buy such an expensive house so soon - he was clear about that himself.
"Today’s the first day the kitchen in this house is being used. You guys should stay for dinner tonight; I’ll cook myself." It was already three in the afternoon, and Chu Mingcheng headed to the kitchen to start preparing dinner.
"Of course, we must! After buying such a nice house, it’s only right to enjoy a big meal at your expense," grumbled Zhang Wei, leading his girlfriend into the kitchen to lend a hand.
"Ah Cheng, when are you holding the housewarming party?"
They all followed into the kitchen, which was spacious enough to not feel crammed even with five people.
"November 19th. It’s a weekend, so most people should be free to come over," Chu Mingcheng replied.
