Chapter 505: Snatching People

He never knew that his sister was so ambitious. Lu Yin had always been so sweet and caring in front of him that Lu Yu couldn’t even imagine her doing something so ruthless. To think that she actually tried to manipulate Lei Qian and called Bai Meiyue names.

When Lu Yin left, Lu Yu still thought of some excuses to ease her guilt, thinking that she was manipulated by Dacheng or that she did it because she had no choice, because she wanted to prove that she, too, could become something.

"I don’t think that I can apologise enough for what she has done," Lu Yu spoke in an apologetic tone. He bowed his head in front of Lei Qian and apologised gravely once again, "I am really sorry for her actions, Master Lei."

Lei Qian waved his hand and said to Lu Yu, "I didn’t tell you this because I wanted you to apologise. I relayed it to you because I want you to stop holding any hope towards Lu Yin. She might have been a kind child when she was young, but now Lu Yin was no longer the same person. So stay on your guard when dealing with her the next time."

"I understand, Master Lei," Lu Yu replied with a sigh. He indeed had some hopes when it came to Lu Yin; how could he not when she was his sister? His only family in this world. Lu Yu hoped that his sister would be able to see the truth and understand that he was only trying to help her and was always looking after her.

But it seemed like his prayers were doomed to dash, for his sister was too far gone.

With a sigh, he turned around on his feet and headed out of the penthouse. Even though Lu Yu accepted what Lei Qian told him was the truth, he still needed some air to clear his head. Running his fingers through his hair, he let out a sigh. Lu Yu climbed down the stairs and was about to head out to kill some zombies to take his anger out, but then he heard a sleazy voice talking to Shen Zhen.

"I think you will do better if you work for the base, Miss Shen."

He paused and slowly turned to look at the direction from where the sound came and sucked in a breath when he saw that it was none other than his own sister.

Lu Yin was standing in front of Shen Zhen. She was dressed in a uniform that looked way too mature for her and was smiling at Shen Zhen with a hint of flattery in her eyes. He then heard her say, "If you agree, then I assure you that you will be given the position of the chief doctor of the hospital and the conditions there will be much better. You don’t have to work in small rooms like these, and the salary that you will get will be higher than anything that Bai Meiyue could give you."

Shen Zhen stood where she was without saying anything. Her eyes dropped, and she looked at the documents that Lu Yin was holding, and even though she didn’t even accept it, Lu Yu saw that his sister was smirking as if she had already won.

Lu Yu couldn’t stay silent anymore; he stepped past the wall and snapped, "Just what do you think you are doing, Lu Yin!? Are you trying to snatch people from Miss Meiyue now?"

When Lu Yin heard her brother’s voice, she flinched. She turned around and looked at her brother, who was marching down to where she was standing, and gulped, but a second later, she straightened up her spine and she then said to her brother, "I am not snatching people, Brother. I am just trying to recruit someone."

"Recruit? You know that Miss Shen works for Miss Meiyue, and you are still offering her a new job. Is this not snatching? Then what else is this?" Lu Yu questioned. He wondered what had happened with Lu Yin and where he had gone while raising her. He was sure that he had taught her all the good things, so where did she learn these selfish and evil things?

Lu Yin pursed her lips and retorted, "There is nothing wrong with offering Miss Shen a job that is better than the one that she is doing." She then turned to look at Shen Zhen and said to her, "Miss Shen, think about it carefully. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and you will be able to earn not only crystal nuclei but also a job for your sisters."

Lu Yin brought up Jiang Haidai and Tong Huan in the hope that Shen Zhen would be tempted. After all, Lu Yin knew that the two sisters of Shen Zhen were neither well educated nor did they have any other skills other than taking care of others and cooking. They would never be able to awaken in their lifetime.

Thus, Shen Zhen was destined to take care of those two. But if the base gave Tong Huan and Jiang Haidai jobs, then Shen Zhen would definitely be tempted.

Just as she expected, Shen Zhen did raise her head and look at her with a hint of what looked like temptation.

Lu Yin smiled when she saw that Shen Zhen seemed to be pondering over the offer that she had given her and then turned to look at her brother, who seemed to be seething. She, however, didn’t care about Lu Yu.

Lu Yin hadn’t forgotten how Lu Yu went to protect the Lei family and completely forgot about her. He could have saved her during the tsunami, but he didn’t even look for her until a week later. Only Lu Yin knew how she had survived those seven days. If she were not lucky enough, then she too would have drowned and died!

Thus, in her eyes, Lu Yu was no better than Lei Yan and her rotten family. The only person who was good to her was Lei Qian and he too was snatched away by that bitch, Bai Meiyue!
