Chapter 320: Wang Chunfeng

Wang Chunfeng actually knew she was already dead.

How could she not know, reduced to such a state? But she simply couldn’t bring herself to believe it, she refused to believe it.

They had clearly agreed to face everything together; it wasn’t the end yet, so why was she the only one left?

Why was it just her now?

Wang Chunfeng couldn’t cry anymore, her tears had run dry.

She had cried too much and couldn’t cry anymore.

Now, all she could do was howl.

Her voice was hoarse and unpleasant to hear.

Lin Murong stood there watching for a while before silently walking away.

He knew that at this time, he shouldn’t stay.

When Lin Murong returned, he was somewhat absent-minded, so much so that he forgot about the stones he had picked up.

Only when he got back to the supermarket did he realize.

"Damn. My stones." He had picked stones for so long and hadn’t brought back a single one.

"What stones?" Su Yinhe asked.

"The stones I picked up," Lin Murong said, somewhat annoyed as he ruffled his hair.

"There are so many outside, go out and pick some up," Su Yinhe gestured for him to go outside to collect stones; there were plenty outside.

Due to the supermarket’s defense mechanism, when it rained stones, they would all be repelled, and over time, a thick layer of stones had formed around the supermarket.

So many stones.

"You don’t understand, those were just the leftovers," Lin Murong shook his head and sighed. It seemed he and those stones were not meant to be together.

Su Yinhe: "..."

Didn’t understand.

Really didn’t understand.

She couldn’t comprehend what was going on in Lin Murong’s head; maybe she’d have to dig it out to find out what was inside.

Suddenly, Lin Murong felt a chill on his head.

Strange.

What was going on?

Perhaps he should wear a hat?

Lin Murong touched his head.

He could never have imagined that, at some point, Su Yinhe had the thought of prying open his skull to see what was inside.

Fortunately, he didn’t know, otherwise, there definitely would have been a ruckus.

Lin Murong thought that woman was just someone he’d met in passing.

But unexpectedly, just a few days later, he saw Wang Chunfeng again.

Wang Chunfeng came alone.

Lin Murong didn’t recognize her at first glance.

She was all dirty that day, looking like a madwoman, although she was probably close to madness at the time.

But the woman he saw again was quite different.

At least she was clean.

And not as crazy as on that day.

Wang Chunfeng recognized Lin Murong as well, but she didn’t say anything, just glanced at him.

Then, like any ordinary customer, she exchanged her Crystal Cores and went in to shop.

But she was not like other customers, who bought various staples; almost everything she purchased was candy.

All kinds of candy.

It had been a very long time since anyone had bought candy in the supermarket.

It seemed the last time someone bought that much candy, it was a group of kids.

However, Lin Murong couldn’t quite remember who had bought a lot of candy in the supermarket.

He felt like they had been to many places.

Met many people.

He and Chi Yan were different from others now.

Probably no longer needing to dodge disasters as before, life seemed to pass quickly, and he had experienced a lot, but some memories were becoming unclear.

"Did you exchange all that Crystal Core money just to buy candy?" Lin Murong looked at the bag of candy she was carrying and couldn’t help asking.

"She liked candy," Wang Chunfeng paused in her steps and replied.

After responding, she didn’t wait for Lin Murong’s reply and continued walking on.

"What a pity, the one who loved candy is no longer here. How will all this candy be used up?" Lin Murong murmured to himself as he watched Wang Chunfeng’s retreating figure.

"What are you talking about?" Su Yinhe always found him a bit odd.

"Nothing, just reflecting a bit," Lin Murong changed his posture.

"Wow, our Lin Murong has grown up. You’ve learned to be melancholic," Su Yinhe whistled at him.

Lin Murong: "???"

What the heck.

"Galaxy, what kind of talk is that, making me sound like your son." Lin Murong felt like he had inexplicably dropped several generations.

"What are you talking about. I’m just moved, you know. Speaking from the heart. I’m praising you."

"Save that praise for Chi Yan. See if he wants it." Anyway, he didn’t want it.

"Not happy to be complimented? Boring." Su Yinhe shook her head.

Chi Yan was somewhat more interesting.

She just liked the interesting types like Chi Yan.

"You go find Chi Yan then. Chi Yan is interesting." Just don’t bother him. "Right, isn’t that guy Chi Yan all over you every day? Where is he now?"

"Oh, he’s mending my clothes for me."

"What?" What the heck?

Mending clothes?

"Galaxy, you’re short on clothes?" That’s unscientific. If anyone is short on clothes, it couldn’t possibly be Galaxy.

"Well, not exactly. But there is only one of those shirts, and I really like it. It just so happens he knows how to mend. So I let him do it." He volunteered, oh.

It wasn’t like she forced him.

She’s a gentle and cute girlfriend, definitely not the type to force a man to mend clothes for her.

It was all Chi Yan’s voluntary decision.

Right.

Correct.

He volunteered.

Their little quirks, Lin Murong couldn’t understand, nor did he want to.

He sighed, picked up another basket, and went out to pick stones.

Stones are so much better anyway.

Way better than these two.

He likes stones.

...

Wang Chunfeng walked along, carrying a big bag of candy, aimlessly.

She didn’t know where she was going.

She just wanted to walk.

As she walked, Wang Chunfeng found herself entering Happiness Base.

Happiness Base was still clearing the stones that had fallen from the sky, stones in abundance that couldn’t all possibly be cleared away.

They were just clearing the stones in the middle of the road.

Wang Chunfeng stood by the side of the road, silently watching them clear the stones.

There were many people doing the clearing, old and young, men and women...

All sorts.

If Xiaxia were still alive, she would probably be pulling her along to help clear the stones right now.

What a pity.

Xiaxia was no longer here.

Wang Chunfeng’s tears plopped down suddenly.

She touched her cheek, looked down at the tear in her palm.

Turns out, she still had tears.

In the past few days, she hadn’t been able to cry, thinking she had run out of tears.

Unexpectedly, they were still there.

Wang Chunfeng, no longer able to hold herself together, put the bag of candy on the ground and sat down, her hands trembling as she unwrapped a piece of candy and put it in her mouth.

The candy should taste sweet.

But why couldn’t she taste anything?

Why was there no flavor at all?

Xiaxia, you liar.

The candy isn’t sweet at all.

As Wang Chunfeng ate the candy, tears streamed down her face.

"Sister, what’s wrong?" A child seeing her came over to ask.

Wang Chunfeng didn’t answer; she couldn’t hear any sound right now.

The child didn’t leave, but started to clear the stones nearby instead.

After Wang Chunfeng finished crying, she realized that a small child had appeared beside her.

The child was still diligently moving stones.
