Chapter 927: Chapter 429 Little Genius Returns_2
It was at this moment that Little Genius finally realized something, stiffly twisting its neck to look at Wei Shan.
But Wei Shan seemed to have anticipated this. Before it could turn fully, he directly reached out with his other hand and grabbed its head.
Though Wei Shan wasn’t as large as a bear-like Young Master Tian, he was still a hefty figure. The sense of oppression brought by his physique was strong, making Little Genius in his hand seem like an oversized toy doll.
Wei Shan gripped Little Genius’s shoulder with one hand, and with the other, he violently clutched its head as if he were grabbing a basketball. He dragged it from the Teacher’s Office doorway, along the corridor to the men’s bathroom.
Upon entering the bathroom, he headed straight for the squat toilet stalls, hooking the edge of a door with his foot to open it, while not stepping in himself.
"Mmm... Mmm... Mmm..." Dragged into the bathroom, Little Genius seemed to perceive something the moment the stall door opened. It began struggling frantically and mumbling incessantly, though restrained by Wei Shan’s grip, it could only emit muffled noises.
Wei Shan, however, started loosening the grip on its head.
Once freed, Little Genius immediately shouted: "Stop! Stop!"
"If you dare harm my puppet, I will never forgive you!"
"Stop, you... stop..."
Wei Shan suddenly changed his mind after loosening his grip. He grabbed its head again like a ball and released his hold on its shoulder, instead resting his hand on its neck.
Wei Shan grinned, revealing a dark and bloodthirsty smile: "Hehehe..."
With a forceful twist of both arms, he wrenched Little Genius’s head from its spine. Strangely, the joint didn’t ooze a single drop of blood but instead exuded some viscous, pure white substance—Extraordinary Material.
"Ahhh—ahhh—ahhh—" Little Genius roared with rage, seemingly infuriated.
It struggled to open its eyes, its sticky, fluid-covered eyeballs squirming desperately within Wei Shan’s fingers, trying to catch a glimpse of his face.
"I won’t let you go!"
"Your body will bear my mark, I will never let you go! Never!"
"Just you wait... just you grglgrgl... grglgrgl..."
Wei Shan shoved its detached head into the squat toilet stall pit, silencing it significantly.
"Such a nuisance," Wei Shan muttered with an evil grin as he looked at the remaining limbs of Little Genius. Like breaking lotus roots, he dismantled them piece by piece and discarded them into different toilets.
Wei Shan’s "dismemberment" complete, he assessed his handiwork, though not entirely satisfied. Still, he sneered, "Anyone could tell you’re not human at first glance... to use such clumsy tricks, truly brainless."
He looked at the slime coating his palm. The viscous substance seemed to spring to life like a symbiont, attempting to burrow into his skin, but his flesh was as hard as steel and impervious to the slime’s penetration.
Wei Shan clasped his hands together and rubbed vigorously, turning the slime into crust-like remnants, akin to smeared snot.
"Still as disgusting as Yin Bi’s mucus."
Wei Shan left the bathroom and walked to the faucet, turning it on to rinse his hands.
While washing, he muttered complaints under his breath.
"These pests keep multiplying..."
"If I had a bat, I wouldn’t have to dirty my hands..."
"That junk Old Lin cooked up, what the hell is it supposed to be? Nothing beats forging your own weapons..."
...
After Wei Shan left, the previously cracked stall door suddenly experienced an invisible force. This force pulled the door shut and locked it.
The next moment, under the dim bathroom lights, a rice cake-like writhing figure gradually emerged within the stall, transforming into the shape of a person.
This figure’s limbs were grotesquely uncoordinated, and it murmured, "I am Wei Liang, I am Wei Liang," while reaching out to retrieve Little Genius’s soaked head from the squat toilet.
Hearing voices, Little Genius’s head began muttering as well: "Wei Liang... is it called... Wei Liang? Alright, alright..."
But before it could rejoice overly, Pseudo-Human Wei Liang pulled the head close, opened its mouth wide, and started devouring it!
"Crunch! Crunch! Crunch..."
Pseudo-Human Wei Liang chomped down on the puppet Little Genius as if it were an oversized apple.
Little Genius screamed in terror as it was devoured: "You... you are...?! You are!! No... no... don’t... ahhh—ahhh—ahhh—"
Its cries were horrific, as if it had fallen into the depths of Hell.
...
May 10, X023, 9:33 AM, Teaching Building B, stairwell.
Having gained some experience and with daylight on their side, Lin Yi and Li Huiyuan ascended the stairs with surprising ease.
Even though they progressed cautiously, it only took them a few minutes to reach the fourth floor.
Ahead of Lin Yi, the staircase banister reached its end, but his intuition revealed that the layers beyond were teeming with Nocturnal species.
Of course, intuition wasn’t necessary—he had previously used Field of View Insight and verified this first-hand. Now, with a slight mental effort, he understood everything.
However, understanding didn’t mean he could recklessly proceed down that path.
He glanced at the banister’s end, then led Li Huiyuan out of the stairwell into the fourth-floor corridor area.
He planned to observe the cloud layers here. If he could predict the clouds would soon obscure the Teaching Building, he’d enter the stairwell. Otherwise, waiting blindly inside amidst that atmosphere could easily incite untimely Phantom Visions.
Phantom Visions weren’t necessarily detrimental, as they occasionally conveyed information—yet they could squander the window of opportunity for ascending floors, which would be disastrous.
Lin Yi leaned against the Corridor Bridge, gazing at the campus. In the morning air, a fresh fragrance lingered. This tranquil environment felt so pristine that it was hard to associate it with the terror of the Grey Mist Invasion.
This stark contrast suddenly struck Lin Yi—it might be the very reason those Experience Students became numb.
It’s like filming the same scene: an action movie wouldn’t evoke fear, but a zombie flick—even with the simplest camera angle—could instill subconscious tension.
He looked up at the sky and noticed considerable clouds floating today. The clouds moved swiftly too.
"Perhaps the cloud layers reflect fluctuations in the campus layers?" A thought emerged in Lin Yi’s mind.
Cloud cover and layer fluctuations might correspond with one another.
"Layer fluctuations may manifest in various forms—cloud surges being one, akin to the gymnasium fogging phenomenon?"
Of course, the latter scenario was far grimmer.
Lin Yi scrutinized several cloud layers, observing their shadows over the mountainous terrain, estimating when they’d drift over, and aimlessly scanning the fourth-floor corridor.
Occasionally, one or two students emerged to use the restroom, but besides that, he hardly saw others. It seemed the majority of the Experience Students were holed up in classrooms, either zoning out or occupying themselves with trivial tasks to pass time.
Yet Lin Yi thought about it—most people probably came here intending to survive for seven days and earn the three grand.
If that’s the case, the straightforward method of marking a routine path between Teaching Building, Cafeteria, and Dormitory was undoubtedly the simplest and most effective.
As Lin Yi observed the surroundings, Li Huiyuan idly watched him. She couldn’t help but admit, Lin Yi looked much more agreeable in a school uniform, unlike the irksome appearance he had in the Homeroom teacher’s clothes.
