Chapter 234: Chapter 110: Violent Kick-Off

"It kept grumbling ’It hurts so much,’ ’I want your hand,’ and the like, buzzing incessantly in Lin Yi’s ears like flies, making his cochlea tingle and anger gradually rise."

Soon, the irritation in his heart surged like a tide, and he subconsciously tightened his grip on the edge of the tray.

"Old Lin," Tian Bufan called out to him, "we’re just waiting for you."

Lin Yi was slightly taken aback, suddenly realizing that Tian Bufan and the others hadn’t set down their trays; they were all waiting for him.

Realizing this, the anger that had surged in his heart was instantly overwhelmed by rationality.

"I’m coming," he replied, quickly joining the others.

Only at this moment did he notice that Wei Shan’s body had been tense all along, and although Wei Shan wasn’t looking at the green Pocket Chef, his head was subtly tilted towards the side where the Pocket Chef was.

His lips slightly lifted, and a heavy breath faintly escaped between his teeth, as if a wild beast was alert for some unknown danger.

"You guys go ahead," Wei Shan said in a deep voice, "I’ll be the last to set down."

But Lin Yi said sternly, "Set down together, then run together."

Wei Shan spoke again, "You all set down together, Old Lin, this time, listen to me."

His deep voice seemed to roll with a roaring sound, giving a sense of pressure as if a sports car were revving its engine in place.

"Old rules, Wei Shan covers the rear," Tian Bufan patted Lin Yi on the shoulder, glanced at Kuai Hongji, "Ready."

Lin Yi wanted to say something, but he felt no resistance in his heart, as if things had always been this way...

"Huh, how strange?"

He murmured to himself, placing his tray at the tray return station but not letting go, so the tray was still hanging in the air, conceptually not yet fully set down.

Tian Bufan, Kuai Hongji, and Wei Liang all meticulously maintained this gesture.

Lin Yi instantly thought of the neatly synchronized tray-setting of the sports students from yesterday, wondering if this also came from them?

"Get ready to run," Tian Bufan made eye contact with the others, "Three, two, one... go!"

Everyone except Wei Shan put their trays down, then eyed the exit of the Student Cafeteria and sprinted out.

At the same time, the green Pocket Chef revealed a fierce look and lunged at Lin Yi.

And at that moment, a tray was positioned in front of the green Pocket Chef, perfectly blocking its path as it chased after Lin Yi.

Simultaneously, Wei Shan lifted his foot and kicked down hard on the tray.

Lin Yi didn’t know how strong that kick was, but it was likely not light as immediately following that, a heavy "thud" was heard, and the green Pocket Chef flew out, knocking over a group of non-human classmates who had gathered around.

As the Pocket Chef was kicked away, the tray spun a few rounds and was caught by Wei Shan.

This smooth combination of moves looked like Jackie Chan maneuvering with a stool in a furniture showroom.

Lin Yi was only stunned for a moment before he pushed himself to run out, but this brief moment of distraction meant he could only trail behind the others.

He noticed how fast Wei Liang was, although they all started together, but as Lin Yi picked up speed, he saw Wei Liang lifting the plastic air curtain...

Wei Shan also set down his tray neatly and hurried forward.

His somewhat hefty figure did not hinder his movement at all; instead, it gave him an agility unusual for someone of his size, his speed resembling that of a charging heavy tank, both fast and fierce.

"What the hell...?!"

As Lin Yi was shocked, he sharply caught the sound of a metal object falling to the ground from a dark corner.

"Is that from the No. 10 meal window?"

A glint flashed in Lin Yi’s eyes, knowing yet another routine chase by the green-hatted chef was underway.

Having experienced it twice, he was quite calm now, but his feet had their own ideas, charging out of the plastic air curtain like pedaling a death race bike.

The speed of the green Pocket Chef defied normal understanding; when they started to move, it seemed as though the entire shadowed area became a part of them, allowing them to glide quickly through the darkness.

In a few breaths’ time, a sinister and sharp oppressive force, accompanied by the chilling sound of tearing wind, closed in on Lin Yi’s back.

Simultaneously, the non-human classmates around them blocked his path like moving tombstones.

"Old Lin, don’t stop, just run!"

Wei Shan’s deep voice sounded behind him, suddenly like a broad phantom racing alongside the green Pocket Chef.

Then, Wei Shan pushed Lin Yi out of the plastic air curtain, wrapped his clothes around himself, curled up and, like a heavy-duty truck, charged through the last human wall out of the plastic air curtain.

As the non-human classmates were knocked out of the plastic air curtain, the morning light fell on them like a deadly weapon, causing them to emit large clouds of white mist as if they were vampires bathing in sunlight.

"Ah... ah—"

They could no longer bother to chase Lin Yi and his group and instead twisted and writhed frantically on the ground, then squirmed towards the plastic air curtain, attempting to crawl back into the Student Cafeteria.
