Chapter 714: First Meeting or Reunion

Yarin's POV:

Spil was omnipresent; he said he wouldn't appear before others but would watch me from afar to prevent any danger.

I found that this nature's child was sometimes too straightforward and simple. Helplessly, I said, "Don't be so nervous, buddy. Aunt Carolyn is a good person and is less dangerous than Maxine when she hasn't had lunch."

"I can hear you." Maxine, lying on the sofa pretending to doze off, lazily swayed her silver tail.

It wasn't even noon yet, but Cynthia hurriedly dragged Heller and me to the garden. We sat on the lush green grass, and Cynthia was busy crafting with fresh flowers and long grass while we became her tools for picking flowers.

Heller's vision was gradually recovering, and he could vaguely see the colors of things, but he still couldn't accurately make out the shape of a flower or a blade of grass.

So, after he mistook a fifth blade of grass for a hibiscus, Cynthia finally couldn't take it anymore and said, "Sit down, you little blind guy. Next time, I'll find another way to bring you out to enjoy the sun."

Heller sat down, grumbling, "You make it sound nice, but you're actually here to wait for Aunt Carolyn, aren't you..."

"Both things aren't contradictory. We're just killing time, right?" Cynthia playfully tossed a necklace made of African daisies and delphinium around, and it gracefully landed on Heller's slightly sweaty neck, like a game of ring-toss at an amusement park.

After finishing the flower necklace, Cynthia stopped and picked up steaming hot cocoa. She didn't like the cold season, saying, "It makes my structure stiff."

Don't ask how fresh flowers were still in the garden in the dead of winter; the answer is magic altering life.

We spent the entire morning doing nothing, and when we heard the sound of car wheels crushing the asphalt in the distance, we got excited and jumped up, running toward the gate. "Be careful, the snow is slippery!" Grandma's voice came from behind.

A young woman stepped out of the black car, dressed in a tank top and hot pants. She had a head of gorgeous platinum blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail with a pure white silk ribbon, and she was wearing a pair of completely transparent high heels, showcasing the dazzling gem anklet on her slender ankle.

She was the only daughter of the Southern Duke, Carolyn.

Taking off the green-to-gradient sunglasses on her face, Carolyn smiled and opened her arms, bending down to say cheerfully, "Good afternoon, children. Have you missed me?"

Cynthia cheered and rushed into Aunt Carolyn's embrace ahead of everyone else.

"Aunt Carolyn, I missed you so much! You look so beautiful today!"

"Thank you, my little princess." Aunt Carolyn kissed each of Cynthia's cheeks, held her up and waved at us. "Yarin, Heller, you both have grown into handsome young men; it's really gratifying."

Heller and I were no longer little children, so even though we were excited, we didn't rashly throw ourselves into a lady's arms.

"Welcome back, Aunt Carolyn." I hugged her gently, and then it was Heller's turn.

Aunt Carolyn soon noticed that something was wrong with Heller, and when she learned that he was temporarily blind for some reason, she felt sorry for him and hugged him, patting his head.

She led us into the courtyard, where my family was already waiting. Aunt Carolyn elegantly bowed and slyly said, "Greetings, esteemed members of the royal family, please forgive this country bumpkin for intruding uninvited."

"Oh, come on, Carolyn. If the Southern Pack is considered a country bumpkin place, then I guess there's no more prosperous city in the world," my mom playfully scolded her, pulling her into a warm embrace. "Welcome back, dear. I hope you had a smooth journey outside."

"Of course, everything went incredibly smoothly. The human world is amazing; sometimes, it feels like one day changes three times, making me miss life at home. So, I decided to come back."

"Of course, the hometown will always welcome a returning wanderer," my mom said joyfully. The happiest one was my grandma, who, like all elderly elders, had an unconditional fondness for the younger generation. She hugged Carolyn for a long time and said, "I wish Lennon could come a little later. Otherwise, I might have to return someone's daughter!"

The courtyard was peaceful, and I noticed an undisguised gaze not far away, finding that it was Spil hiding in the woods.

Strangely, ever since he came to this world, he had appeared to people in his wolf form. But now, he had turned back into that handsome young man, his clear eyes holding a tender look. His lips moved, and I carefully deciphered it, seemingly saying - my love.

My love?

Whose? Did I see it wrong? Or was Spil referring to someone among this group of people? Following his gaze, I secretly looked over.

Under the sunlight, Aunt Carolyn was smiling brightly.
