Chapter 526: The Dancing Leaves

Gastone watched the leaves dancing from its branches as sunlight hit his eyes. "What beautiful scenery!" he whispered, smiling softly.

It has been a week since Gastone stayed in the Werewolf realm and did nothing but procrastinate. The plants he was tending to has finally bloomed their colorful flowers.

However, no matter how peaceful Gastone felt, he was never at ease. His mind kept thinking about Lucia and what was happening to her around that time.

"Lucia," Gastone whispered unconsciously. He was emotionless at first but realized what he had said. He sat up and looked at his hands, remembering touching Lucia’s cheeks. "Ugh! Why am I thinking about her?"

"Maybe you still want her," a voice spoke nearby.

Gastone immediately looked to the side and saw Rosina. "You..."

"Did I surprise you?" Rosina grinned. She sat beside Gastone and stared at the tree as well. "This place always gives me peace, don’t you think?"

"What are you doing here?" Gastone asked curiously. He was worried something might have happened for Rosina to visit him without warning.

"Why? Am I not allowed to visit you?" Rosina teased, causing Gastone to be flustered.

"No-no... I’m just surprised," Gastone explained, looking down.

Rosina smiled. "You must be thinking why I’m here without a notice first."

Gastone flinched but didn’t say anything since what Rosina said was true.

"I came here because I want to talk to you... Personally, this is my own schedule, and Draco has nothing to do with it," Rosina sighed, picking at the grass on the side.

"Draco... how is he?" Gastone asked timidly. He didn’t want to show, but he was concerned since Draco was unstable the last time he saw him.

"Well, he seems normal. Acting like himself as usual, but that’s what he wants others to know," Rosina gritted her teeth. "He’s been hiding it, but I know he wants to see his mother.

Gastone nodded in understanding. "I see," he paused for a couple of seconds. But if I were in his place, I would do the same."

"Hah, that’s cute. So that means you want to know your real father?" Rosina raised her brow. She could help Gastone find the information he needed if he wanted her help.

"No, I think of him as a dead man," Gastone replied sternly, showing no emotion.

Rosina stared at Gastone intently to know if he was telling the truth. "I understand."

After Rosina replied, Gastone remained silent, and the two of them listened to the sound of leaves clashing with each other. It had been a few minutes, but Rosina stayed quiet as well.

Gastone glanced at Rosina, seeing the trouble face she had. "Tell me. Why are you here?"

"Ah, you’re still an impatient man," Rosina giggled while shaking her head.

"Hmm," Gastone turned his head to the side. Even though Rosina wasn’t his true mate, there was a time when he had feelings for her, and he couldn’t deny that Rosina was still attractive in a seductive way.

"Alright, I won’t waste more time," Rosina said, taking a deep breath as she prepared herself. "I’m planning to go to the human realm... again."

"HAH!?" Gastone was taken aback. He snapped and looked at Rosina with wide eyes. "Don’t tell me you plan to find Giselle!"

"You’re correct," Rosina nodded, tilting her head to the side. She found it funny how her revelation shattered Gastone’s composed figure.

"What were you thinking!? I just told you she’s no ordinary human there. She has connections and dangerous power. You can’t just approach her and drag her back to this realm!" Gastone’s voice rose. He didn’t care if he was shouting at the Queen.

"Calm down. I’m not that aggressive," Rosina placed both of her hands in front, gesturing for Gastone to stop being emotional.

"How can I calm down when you’re placing yourself in danger? Of all people, you should know that!" Gastone continued shouting, disagreeing with Rosina about going to the human realm.

Gastone knew Giselle was not someone they could toy with. Aside from being a werewolf, she could have dangerous men kill them without a heartbeat. He knew Rosina’s wolf was strong, but shifting into the human realm was a dangerous move.

"Okay, I understand what you’re talking about. I’m not that stupid," Rosina rolled her eyes but smiled. "You still cared for me, Gastone."

Gastone’s rage vanished after hearing Rosina’s words. He settled down and looked at his hands. "You already have a pup to take care of. You don’t need to burden yourself with this."

Rosina’s eyes softened. "Ah, yes. He’s a good pup," she replied.

"That’s why you can’t put yourself in danger. Have Draco deal with it. If he can overthrow the last Monarch, he can take his mother back... if she’s really his own mother," Gastone rubbed his face in frustration. He felt guilty for telling Draco what he knew.

However, Rosina laughed out loud. Her laughter echoed in the entire area, causing Gastone to be stunned. She was amused since she knew Draco wasn’t the powerful one who overthrew the last Monarch; she was.

Rosina only used Draco to cover up her real powers.

"Huh? Did I say something wrong?" Gastone asked in confusion. He watched as Rosina wiped the tears from her eyes while continuing to laugh.

"Ah, sorry about that," Rosina paused, catching her breath. "It’s just... you always know how to complicate things in your head, Gastone. You think too much about consequences, and while I respect that, sometimes action is needed over analysis."

Gastone frowned, not amused by her laughter. "This isn’t a joke, Rosina. You’re risking your life."

Rosina’s expression shifted into something softer yet resolute. "I already made up my mind."

As Rosina stood up, Gastone grabbed her hand and stopped her from leaving.

"I’ll do it," Gastone whispered. He closed his eyes intently while regaining the strength to say those words out loud.

"Huh? What are you saying?" Rosina’s eyes widened. She knew what Gastone meant but needed to confirm if she was hearing it correctly.

"I said... I’ll do it. I’ll take Giselle back here in this realm. So please, don’t leave your pup," Gastone’s voice was soft as he looked up to Rosina. His eyes were practically begging her to agree.
