Chapter 65: Chapter 65- Actions And Consequences
SIMON~
I watched with a vacant smile as the building erupted in a sea of heat and light. How could beauty be found in something so immensely destructive?
"This is going to get a reaction." Leo warned from beside me, the sound of wood cracking and crashing filling the air around us.
"That’s the point," I responded calmly as we walked back to the car and entered it. This was meant as a message, warning everyone that I wasn’t one to be fucked with.
"Don’t you think it’s a little careless to burn the home of the people you are supposed to lead?" Leo said with his eyes fixed on the road.
"Of course it is."
"Then why did you do it?"
"Like I said, it’s a message," I replied.
"He went back on a deal we made, I couldn’t let that slide."
"You’ve never been one to hold a grudge over something as minor as one person’s dishonest word."
"True, but I’m about to unite the entire werewolf sector I can’t have people thinking they can act without consequences," I explained as the car slowed down in front of a hospital, we stepped out and walked to the trunk of the car. Leo opened it, revealing the unconscious man we had stuffed inside.
"This will get an even bigger reaction," Leo said.
"I’m betting on it," I said with a smile as I carried him out from the trunk and gently placed him in front of the hospital’s signboard. As I looked at the state I had left him an exhausted sigh escaped my lips and Leo knew why.
"You should have let me do it." He said softly
"Why would I let you stain your hands, they mess with me so I pass the judgement, that’s the way it should always be."
"I’m here though, I’m here to serve."
"And would you still be here if I made you do all my dirty work?" He wanted to answer but he was speechless, he knew I was right, he was here because I always did what needed to be done.
"Plus I need him to tell Jermaine I did this to him." I continued as I stood up and dusted off my palms.
"By the way. What’s the point of this?" Leo asked.
"To make him angry of course, agitated men make stupid decisions, and stupid decisions come with bad consequences," I explained as I walked back to the open car door, it would be a couple of minutes before someone found him and took him in so we left the scene.
——
5 hours had passed since we dropped off Spark at the hospital, and I sat at my desk reading through the reports the alpha’s under me had sent in, thorough, no doubt every single one of them had worked like crazy to get to the position they were at but that mattered little to me, as far as they did what they were told and did it well I had no problems with them, they would continue running their respective packs with the only downside being they now reported to me.
The quiet allowed my hearing to function more accurately, making it possible for me to hear the grunts of the men getting beat up as an unknown assailant ran towards my office, I knew this would happen, which was the exact reason why I sent Leo away, If he was to be here the person wouldn’t get very far before they were snuffed out. The pants got louder as the person got closer and closer to my door till he eventually got to it but instead of just pushing it open, he burst through it, slamming his full weight through the weak metal doors.
"Can we be a little bit more civilized?" I joked as I set my eyes on Jermaine.
"Motherfucker!" He cursed as he stood straight and began stalking toward me, his eyes glowing and his nails extending to a dangerous length.
"You don’t want to do that," I warned but my tone held no animosity, he paused where he stood, realizing I wasn’t surprised to see him.
"You knew I’d come." He growled angrily
"Of course I did."
"So you did it why? you burnt it down why?" He growled, the glow in his eyes Intensifying.
"Easy answer, I like the scenery of a building engulfed in flames, Real answer, what the fuck did you think was gonna happen?"
"You—"
"You thought you planned for every possibility, I’m sure you had sort of an idea that I’d attack him, Didn’t you?", He didn’t answer but by the way his jaw tightened, I knew I was right. Silence fell over the room as our eyes remained glued to each other, the tension in the air was almost breathable.
"You put my man in the hospital." He said.
"I put your man in the hospital," I smirked.
"You burnt down my crib."
"I set it ablaze." I mocked
"You fucking with me right?"
"No, quite the contrary actually." I said as I stood up from my seat, walked past my desk, and stood a meter away from him "You fucked with me."
"You asked for the pack, I gave it to you!"
"No! I asked for your allegiance and you gave me a bunch of sheep without a Sheppard." I said as I took a step forward.
"You gonna regret."
"You’re not the first man that has told me that and you won’t be the last, but guess what none of you will ever be right," I said with my face barely inches away from his. His breathing was heavy, no doubt he wanted to attack me right now, the look in his eyes told tales of his thoughts but he knew better, he knew that any move he made on me would only make matters worse for him. He faked a smile and stepped back, turning around and without another word left the building.
