After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain -
Chapter 289: Two Personalities
Bo Jingmo thought he might be going crazy.
Just one glance at that girl had bewitched him, leaving him unable to forget her.
Sitting at his desk, his medical records lay open for several minutes without him reading a single word.
Before he realized it, he was already in the elevator, his finger hovering over the button for the third floor.
He thought, maybe just one more look.
That should be enough to end this inexplicable obsession.
But when he saw her again, Bo Jingmo realized how wrong he was.
His greedy desire became a bottomless pit - no longer satisfied with just "one look," he craved physical closeness.
The girl stood before a familiar patient's room. Even from behind, Bo Jingmo recognized her instantly.
That patient's condition had worsened today, their mental state unstable.Without thinking, Bo Jingmo strode over and covered the girl's eyes with his hands.
The gesture was completely unnecessary, but he couldn't think of a better excuse to get close.
Like someone with skin hunger, he desperately needed contact.
The moment he approached, Bo Jingmo clearly caught her unique fragrance - like lily-of-the-valley glistening with morning dew, a delicate sweetness intertwined with rich rose notes that intoxicated the senses. The scent made him dizzy, his dry lips parting unconsciously.
So fragrant...
He wanted to lean in and taste it.
Realizing what he was doing, Bo Jingmo froze mid-motion.
His breathing hitched as he jerked his hand back, disgusted by his own perverse thoughts, his expression darkening.
"Director?"
The girl's surprised voice snapped him back. Bo Jingmo lowered his gaze, casually slipping his hands into his pockets with a quiet "Hmm."
Yet that alluring fragrance still teased his senses. His Adam's apple bobbed as dark eyes grew deeper. His fingers curled, craving to relive that softness.
"Haven't gone to eat yet?"
His voice lacked its usual coolness, carrying a barely perceptible roughness.
Yu Li smiled, eyes curving: "Not yet. I wanted to familiarize myself with the work environment first. Director Bo hasn't eaten either?"
"No." His gaze drifted from her face to the room. "Need to recheck this patient's condition. He might need transferring to the fourth floor."
"How responsible of you, Director." Her light laugh came with a sidelong glance, the upward tilt of her eyes like a bewitching hook.
For a moment, Bo Jingmo's heartbeat stuttered.
"Just doing my job," he replied stiffly.
[Just~doing~my~job~]
[Don't think we didn't see what you were about to do when you leaned in~]
[LMAO classic Bo Jingmo behavior]
[Yu Li definitely recognized him but played along, what expert fishing]
[Fishing? More like this man throwing himself at her the moment she crooked a finger. She wasn't even startled when he covered her eyes from behind - definitely some ulterior motives there]
[Wait did he lose memories again? Didn't turn into a ghost this time?]
[Whatever, he'll fall for her anyway]
[Preach]
[So this dungeon is just couple flirting hours? LOVE IT]
[No wonder last dungeon disabled screenshots - saving the good stuff for here! System I take back everything bad I said!]
[Pretty sure checking patients was just an excuse to see his wife]
If even the comments could see through him, how could Yu Li not notice? But she played along, smiling at Bo Jingmo.
"I've finished looking around. Will Director be staying longer?"
"No, I'm done too." Falling into step beside her, Bo Jingmo opened his mouth to invite her to lunch, then remembered they'd just met today.
He didn't even know her name.
The realization stunned him. Wiping his damp palms, he forced calm into his voice.
"First day here? Don't recall seeing you before."
"I'm today's new intern." Removing her white coat and mask, she smiled easily. "Director, want to get lunch together?"
"Ah... yes." Bo Jingmo's pulse jumped at what he mistook for an invitation.
Logically, this stranger who affected him so strongly should make him wary, or prompt him to transfer her away.
Yet his body kept seeking closeness.
His mind felt split between two personalities - one clinging to reason, the other already surrendered.
The thought made Bo Jingmo freeze mid-step.
His expression darkened, eyes flashing dangerously as his pocketed hand clenched.
Unaware, Yu Li checked her phone. "Shall we go down together? I was heading to the cafeteria."
"Alright," he answered reflexively.
At the elevator, the display showed it stopping on the fourth floor.
Seeing the number reminded Yu Li of Dai Liu's story. "Director, about the fourth floor—"
Ding! The arriving elevator interrupted her.
Inside stood Yu Yu. "Sister Yu, good afternoon," Yu Li greeted cheerfully.
Yu Yu nodded in surprise at seeing company. "Afternoon." Her eyes widened noticing Bo Jingmo. "Director? You're on the third floor?"
"...Checking on a patient."
Yu Yu blinked. Checking again? Hadn't he just been there? Were the records wrong?
But Bo Jingmo's expression revealed nothing. "...I see. You two heading down together?"
"Director and I are going to the cafeteria," Yu Li entered casually. "You too, Sister Yu?"
"Yes." Yu Yu's eyes kept darting to Bo Jingmo.
Since when did the Director eat cafeteria food?
"Director... you're eating at the cafeteria?"
Bo Jingmo simply nodded. "Trying something different."
Yu Yu: "..."
Really? Last time you called it unsanitary.
Our Director - the only hospital head who trash-talks his own cafeteria.
As Yu Li checked her phone, Yu Yu offered: "Since it's your first day, let me treat you. Though fair warning, the food's not great."
Yu Li smiled up. "Thanks, Sister Yu."
"Don't mention it."
Beside them, Bo Jingmo's expression shifted slightly.
So her name was Yu Li.
When the elevator reached the first floor, as the doors opened, he suddenly spoke:
"Let me treat you both."
