Chapter 308: Chapter 281: Sky-Edge Speeding, Life and Death Are Fated (3rd update)

Yawning, she stepped through the front door.

Even before entering, she could hear voices inside.

Distinct from when Rowan was there.

The conversation inside was relaxed.

"Chloe, you’re back!"

Yvette, beaming, walked up to her and took the schoolbag from her hand.

Chloe Stephens looked at the three of them chatting away so cheerfully and took a seat on the sofa.

Adam and Alex were discussing company matters. Starting from today, Alex had begun to handle some of the company’s affairs.

Alex took Adam’s entrustment very seriously.

Alex glanced at Chloe, nodding slightly.

"Chloe, have any plans for Saturday?"

"Sleep."

"Young people should get out more, Alex, if you are free Saturday, why don’t you take your sister out?"

"Aunt Foster, there is a group of people who invited me to go airplane racing. If Chloe is interested, she could join us."

Plane racing?

Seeing Yvette’s puzzled expression, Alex explained: "It’s a kind of game, the young ancient martial artists love to play."

"Would it be dangerous?"

"Ancient martial artists aren’t so easily put in danger, Aunt Foster. You can rest assured."

"I’m somewhat interested," Chloe looked at Adam, "I’ll go out with him on Saturday."

"Alright, keep your mobile phone turned on. Don’t stay out too late."

Chloe nodded.

*

Saturday morning.

Mason Sullivan and others had agreed to meet up in the courtyard.

They called Chloe, but she was busy with her own things and didn’t go.

Unfortunately, as soon as they hung up, Len Hawthorne called in.

In the car.

Chloe glanced at Alex beside her who was driving.

Alex was already old enough to have a driving license and he had no problem driving normally outside.

The moment Chloe picked up the call, Alex looked over.

His intuition told him that this call was different.

"Do you have plans for Saturday, Little Chloe?"

"Plane racing."

"..."

"Is there a problem?"

"Since Little Chloe has her own things to do, let’s meet on Monday."

A team member walked in, "Team Hawthorne, the Winston Family are moving. Part of the group is heading towards Sheffield City."

Len Hawthorne nodded, said a word to the phone and hanged up.

Chloe pursed her lips.

The Winston Family members are coming?

They’re quite fast.

*

The entrance to Dark City.

Chloe received a mask and put it on.

"Follow me," Alex took Chloe towards another checkpoint at the Dark City entrance.

Unlike other entrances, this one was open-air and they used high technology to check identities.

Everything carried by the ancient martial artists was displayed on the projection screen.

Two checkpoints later, a vast field spread out ahead, disappearing into the distance.

On the helipads, were all modified helicopters.

Every helicopter had wings painted with a spray gun.

These wings were different from regular helicopters, they were made for direct rear acceleration.

Seeing this, Chloe finally understood what plane racing was.

Just like ordinary people race cars, they play an even more exciting version.

All other disciples of the Stephens family had arrived. Today they had booked the entire field.

Seeing Chloe arrive, they all gave weird looks.

"Alex, why did you bring Chloe?"

"She wanted to come take a look. " Alex stood in front of Chloe, warning: "You guys can challenge me, but if anyone dares to touch Chloe, they will not get off lightly."

Everyone smirked understandingly.

"It hasn’t been long, and you’re already protective."

"Yeah, he would be scolded if he didn’t protect her well."

"Stop it. We’re here to race planes, not our mouths."

Someone glanced at Chloe and shouted.

On the helicopters, numbers were sprayed.

Alex’s was No. 9.

Fifteen in total.

All fifteen of them climbed in. Chloe Stephens went to check the rules and they were similar to car racing.

The only difference was they were in the sky, with certain altitude requirements, total duration, and no liability for accidents.

That means if anyone wanted to play dirty during the game, they could potentially end someone’s life.

After all, the possibility of collisions was high.

Chloe looked at Alex’s No. 9 helicopter, he had already pulled the lever, glancing at Chloe on the ground, motioning her to relax.

Turning to look at the others, they all held hostility towards Alex.

Coming out into the open, Alex must have been out of any other choice.

Chloe backed away, watching as the fifteen helicopters soared into the clouds. Soon, they were lost in the cloud layers.

Airplane racing, it was a matter of life and death.
