Chapter 356: Chapter 356: Li Lingyang’s Major Social Humiliation Scene, Lost Face Inside and Out
Mo Baiyou decided to send someone to investigate later.
The two continued walking forward, unaware that their encounter with Doctor Antony had quietly been captured on camera...
...
Private hospital.
After a period of recuperation, Li Lingyang was officially out of danger and had been transferred from the ICU to a regular hospital room.
In the luxurious single room, Li Lingyang was alone.
Ever since he "lost his temper" in the bathroom, Ning Yichu hadn’t visited him again. Even when he deliberately used tricks to send her messages, she pretended not to see them!
Even Chen Bao and Ningning, those two little rascals, were nowhere to be found.
Li Lingyang felt an instant wave of irritation.
And then he thought about his physical condition...
His already heavy mood worsened.
The gunshot wound on his leg had started to scab, but that particular aspect of recovery showed no progress—he even felt lethargic in the mornings.
Adding insult to injury, those doctors kept telling him to "be patient and wait."
If this goes on, his wife was going to be stolen away by Mo Baiyou...
Li Lingyang grew even more restless and impulsively picked up his phone to search online.
He wanted to find people with similar symptoms to his and see how they recovered.
After typing in a few keywords, a myriad of webpages popped up quickly...
Ignoring the heap of fake advertisements at the front, he actually found a large discussion forum with some local fame in Reykjavik.
The comments section had all sorts of answers, and honestly, it seemed pretty legit!
With a "might as well give it a shot" mindset—
Li Lingyang posted a thread.
"What should I do if I’ve lost function after a thigh injury?"
There was a large crowd gathered on this forum.
Not long after the post went up, replies flooded in.
"A thigh injury? Well, no wonder... OP, my condolences!"
"Could it be that OP wasn’t great to begin with and is using this accident as an excuse? Haha."
"Too much sewing?"
"OP, are you quick or just short? Come on, reply!"
"I bet it’s no reaction at all. OP, come on, be honest. If you open up, maybe we can brainstorm solutions for you!"
"Haha, no one really believes this stuff, right? Maybe the guy was sick to start with and is just making excuses."
"Pfft, seriously though, I’ve heard that people who are ’not functional’ often have distorted mindsets and come to forums seeking comfort."
"..."
The more Li Lingyang read, the darker his expression became, until his face resembled the bottom of a pot.
Hands on the keyboard, he coldly replied, "@xxx Sorry, before I was injured, my wife was very satisfied—I scored twins in one shot!"
"..."
"Whoa, that’s impressive! What are you waiting for—go ask the doctor about fixes instead of looking for validation here."
"Fishing for attention confirmed!"
"Everyone stop replying; don’t give clout to people like this..."
"If it’s really bad, just go see a doctor—no one will laugh at you."
...
The comments inexplicably started spiraling off-topic and turned into attacks on Li Lingyang by the end.
At first, Li Lingyang had been relatively composed, but the more he read, the angrier he grew. His chest felt tight with frustration, so he asked Special Assistant Xu to send him a laptop. With a quick move, he hacked and disabled a slew of trash accounts on the forum.
The very next second.
A new comment popped up.
"OP, I think your issue might be a lack of stimulation. Worst-case scenario, maybe try watching some videos?"
Li Lingyang froze, his brows furrowing sharply.
But, given his current situation, there really wasn’t a better option.
He tapped twice on the keyboard.
A categorized webpage quickly appeared on the screen.
Disgust flickered across Li Lingyang’s eyes.
Bracing himself, he clicked on a random video, his scowl deepening as his discomfort grew.
Not only did he feel no reaction–but he found it outright nauseating...
Clearly, this method was useless for him!!
"Li Lingyang, the doctor said you refused to get your IV tonight. What’s going on?"
Just as Li Lingyang was about to close the webpage, the hospital room door suddenly opened.
Ning Yichu had received a call from the doctor and, feeling annoyed to the point of exasperation, came to the hospital to find out what was going on. Despite Li Lingyang’s dramatic tendencies, she couldn’t truly ignore him.
However, the moment she stepped into the room...
A series of unspeakable sounds echoed through the hospital room.
Li Lingyang, holding the laptop, was glued to the screen as if thoroughly engrossed.
"...!!!"
The frame froze abruptly.
Ning Yichu’s words died in her throat.
So refusing the IV was to watch this kind of thing??
Their eyes met, and Li Lingyang experienced what it truly meant to die of embarrassment.
With a loud "clap," the man slammed the laptop shut, hastily explaining with some fluster.
"It’s not what you think! Special Assistant Xu downloaded these videos, and the laptop belongs to him. When I opened it, these pages popped up automatically..."
"I find such content nauseating."
"Someone of my status wouldn’t have any need to watch such things!"
Not explaining would’ve been better—his explanation only made it worse.
The excuse he gave was painfully obvious!
Ning Yichu’s brows arched sharply. "Oh, yes. Someone like President Li, even lying in a hospital bed, can simply wave a hand, and women would willingly line up to serve you."
"Chu Chu, I didn’t mean it like that..."
"Alright, we’re all adults here. Whether Special Assistant Xu was watching or you were watching—I just advise that you take care of yourself."
Li Lingyang: "..." A feeling of misplace humiliation—a "damned if you do, damned if you don’t" and a deep sense of frustration—washed over him.
Ning Yichu’s patience was practically threadbare as she ground her teeth, saying, "And besides, the doctor told me you refused treatment for tonight. Videos can always wait, but getting your IV tonight is non-negotiable."
"..." Li Lingyang was speechless, his face as dark as a storm cloud. "Chu Chu, I don’t want the IV tonight because I think my wounds can heal with just daily dressing changes now."
Ning Yichu sneered and wore a clearly skeptical expression.
"That’s for the doctor to decide!" She then muttered in an irritated aside, "Caught red-handed, and still refusing to admit to it..."
"I really didn’t!"
The corner of Li Lingyang’s forehead twitched visibly in agitation. "I’ve never watched such things before!"
"So I walked in on nothing, huh?" Ning Yichu immediately countered.
Li Lingyang abruptly choked on his own words.
His pride and ego wouldn’t allow him to openly admit he was sick!!
Ning Yichu couldn’t help but silently lambast him in her own head.
Men, especially adult men watching such things—wasn’t anything strange.
But the point was...
Why couldn’t he own up instead of lying through his teeth?
