Chapter 361: Chapter 361: Memory Restoration

Si Tiantian clasped her hands together in indecision, wanting to hear the rest of the story but also feeling a bit scared to sleep alone.

She admitted she was a bit of a scaredy-cat, but not finishing a story she had started would bother her endlessly.

With no other option, she lamented, "Daddy, you’re doing this on purpose, just because you don’t want me to listen. You well know that kids need a few days to adapt after hearing a scary story."

"So, you must have someone sleep with you after you finish listening, is that it?" Si Chenli had already figured out his daughter’s stubbornness; she wanted to listen but couldn’t sleep alone.

"Mhm, mhm, if we sleep together for a week, then I won’t be scared anymore!" Si Tiantian nodded vigorously.

Originally, she had planned to go to the company with Mommy today, but she decided to come with Daddy because of the unfinished story that was on her mind.

"Then go sleep with your grandma."

"Why? I want to sleep with Mommy."

"Then don’t listen to the story," Si Chenli said coldly and mercilessly, without offering his daughter an explanation.

Si Tiantian was extremely torn and ultimately couldn’t comprehend, "Daddy, you’re mean, I just want to sleep with Mommy."

"If you insist on sleeping with your mommy, that’s fine..." Si Chenli saw his daughter take the bait and began to speak to the point.

"I’ll sleep with Mommy. Daddy, just tell me, what do you want me to do?" Si Tiantian looked up with an extra happy smile.

"You have to let me sleep with you guys," Si Chenli shamelessly made his demand, feeling not the slightest bit uncomfortable in front of his child.

"Okay, okay." Si Tiantian nodded without a moment’s hesitation.

Other kids also sleep with their mom and dad, so she thought it perfectly normal!

"You need to actively pull me into your mommy’s room to sleep, insisting that all three of us sleep together, got it? That way, not only can you listen to scary stories when you come to the company, but at home as well," Si Chenli continued to tempt his daughter with the scary stories she was so interested in.

"Daddy, can you tell them too?" Si Tiantian’s eyes shone brightly, full of anticipation.

If she could sleep with Mommy and Daddy in the future, she wouldn’t be afraid even if she listened to scary stories every day!

"Of course."

"Then I’ll pull you into Mommy’s room to sleep tonight!"

"Good," Si Chenli nodded, his thin lips curving into a successful smile.

He had been carrying a matter on his mind for two days, and now that it was settled, his face was adorned with a smile even while he worked.

As for Si Tiantian, she ran off to find the aunties from the day before to tell her stories; now that she had her father’s permission, the employees confidently indulged her.

Si Tiantian was well looked after in the company, so Si Chenli could leave for work affairs with no worries.

He had just gone downstairs and reached the front door when he saw a man in a business suit standing outside.

Sang Siyang, aware the other man might not recognize him, spoke out, "Si Chenli, I’ve come looking for you."

Si Chenli stopped in his tracks, his dark eyes failing to recognize the man.

"I am Qiaoqiao’s fourth brother, even though she doesn’t acknowledge me, my intentions toward her and Tiantian are sincere. I want to take Tiantian out for a bit of fun and will have her back before you finish work, is that alright?" Sang Siyang purposely pulled out an old family registry that bore his and Qiaoqiao’s names. Although this registry was from a long time ago and their family had updated theirs already, and even though Qiao’s registration had been moved out, he had kept this old one, unable to throw it away since it still had proof that he and Qiaoqiao were once listed as a family.

"Qiaoqiao’s fourth brother..." Si Chenli shook his head, those words stirring a sense of familiarity.

With memories that were gradually returning day after day, on top of having met too many people from his past recently, his brain seemed to be stimulated, the pain unbearable.

"What’s wrong with you?" Sang Siyang watched as Si Chenli’s complexion grew increasingly pale, reaching out to steady him.

Si Chenli leaned against the wall behind him, gasping for breath. "It’s nothing."

"Do you need me to take you to the hospital?" Sang Siyang knew how important the other was to Qiaoqiao.

Right now, seeing Si Chenli like this, he truly couldn’t feel at ease.

Si Chenli hadn’t had the chance to respond before he fainted.

Sang Siyang immediately took out his phone to dial the emergency number, and at the same time, squatted down to check Si Chenli’s breathing. There was still breath, and he sighed with relief.

Before the ambulance arrived, he had the front desk bring Tiantian down as well.

Si Tiantian, looking at her uncle and her unconscious father, stood frozen, not daring to step forward.

"Uncle Siyang, did you...did you kill my dad?"

"No, he just fainted. I didn’t do anything." Sang Siyang hurriedly spoke up in his defense, worried that Tiantian might misunderstand him.

He had only prepared lots of snacks and gifts, hoping to take Tiantian to visit.

"Then why did dad faint?" Si Tiantian finally rushed over and grasped her father’s large hand, extremely anxious.

"I don’t know, let’s wait for the doctor to check." Sang Siyang patted Tiantian’s back, trying to soothe her.

"Mm."

Hospital Interior

After a series of examinations for Si Chenli, the doctor finally came out of the ward.

"The patient isn’t in any danger, he just fainted due to extreme fatigue. He’ll wake up soon."

"Okay, thank you." Sang Siyang nodded, and the doctor quickly left.

Si Tiantian stood up from the bench in the back, walked over to her uncle, tugged at his hand, and asked softly, "Is it because Dad works too much? I even got mad at him every day; is that why he’s so exhausted?"

"No, it’s because of your dad himself." Sang Siyang blurted out.

In his view, whatever the reason for Si Chenli’s sudden fainting, it certainly couldn’t be because of Tiantian.

"I see." Si Tiantian nodded, unsure whether she believed him or not, thinking to herself that she ought to treat her father better in the future and not upset him anymore.

Si Chenli was soon transferred to a regular ward.

When he regained consciousness, the first thing he saw was his daughter and Sang Siyang standing by his bed.

"Dad, are you all right?" Si Tiantian, seeing her father open his eyes, couldn’t wait to get closer and ask, her eyes filled with concern.

"I’m fine." Si Chenli’s deep, bottomless black eyes fixed on his daughter’s face.

His mind was no longer empty but had remembered everything.

His daughter looked almost exactly like Qiaoqiao; she had been raised well, was already so grown, and yet he had completely missed the hard time Qiaoqiao had while pregnant.

"Dad, what’s wrong?" Si Tiantian waved her hand in front of her father’s face.

She felt that her father, who had just woken up, seemed a bit strange.

"The doctor said you’re too exhausted and need to rest. Is the company very busy? Do you need me to send someone over to help?" Sang Siyang voiced his concern.

He didn’t want Si Chenli, who had just returned, to develop some physical illness, which would make Qiaoqiao suffer.

"No need, it isn’t about the company, personal reasons. I’m all right now." Si Chenli calmly explained. The fainting might have been due to the past few days of constantly forcing himself to remember the past, plus long hours of intense work without proper rest for his brain.
