Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Si Chenli Deceives His Daughter

"Mm," Shangguan Lin retracted his gaze from the window, slowly rolled up the car window, and closed off his heart as well.

This was his second time coming to the city where his beloved lived, and, if all went as expected, it was also going to be the last time.

Si Mansion

Si Chenli had been mentally rehearsing the words he had thought of yesterday during dinner, planning to move back home today.

However, before he had a chance to speak to Qiaoqiao, he heard his daughter’s voice.

"Mom, I still want to sleep with you tonight, I’m still a bit scared."

"Of course, didn’t we say that those were all fake? Why are you still scared?"

"Because my brain always uncontrollably starts thinking about it, I think I need some time to fade it away," Si Tiantian explained earnestly.

In her heart, she was truly a bit scared, but more than that, she wanted to sleep with her mom.

She really liked how her mom was after dad returned, always smiling so tenderly and showing so much patience with her.

"Alright, then stay with mom for a while," Sang Qiao said with a light laugh, reaching out to stroke her daughter’s head.

"Mm-hmm," Si Tiantian smiled hugely, "I’m going to bring my teddy bear to the room too."

"Okay."

Si Chenli had just put down his chopsticks, not even having the chance to voice his thoughts about moving back, his brow furrowed, slightly suspecting that his daughter was doing this on purpose.

Even though she had hardly slept with Qiaoqiao before, now she had been clinging to her for two consecutive days.

He had not yet gotten a chance to go upstairs when suddenly there came the sound of footsteps from outside; Mrs. Si hurried in, "Chenli, why are you here alone?"

"They went back to their rooms," Si Chenli explained calmly, his voice hinting at a trace of complaint.

Mrs. Si faintly sensed something was wrong, "Are you not happy? What happened?"

"I’m not unhappy, you heard wrong," Si Chenli still appeared nonchalant, though his expression was not as he claimed, feeling rather helpless inside.

"That’s good, I came back with some great news, your brother is cured! Now he can finally get married and have children, it’s really wonderful."

Mrs. Si’s face was full of joy, the issue that had troubled their family for so many years was finally resolved.

This time, they owed much to that doctor, or else they wouldn’t have known what to do with Jing in the future.

"Quite good," Si Chenli nodded, genuinely glad for his brother, although he didn’t feel too much about it personally since he had only met his brother on the first day.

For him, who had not fully regained his memory, that brother still felt a bit like a stranger.

"Chenli, how have things been recently, have you remembered anything?" Mrs. Si eagerly looked at her eldest son, now just hoping for him to regain his memory and for her younger son to get married and have children, then she would have nothing to worry about.

"Some, but not much," Si Chenli moved his lips and replied, fragments of memories surfacing from time to time.

But these fragments, compared to his twenty-something years of life, were still too scarce.

"It’s okay, having some is enough, just take your time," Mrs. Si comforted warmly.

The fact that her eldest son had come back safely was already beyond her expectations and a wonderful surprise for their entire family.

Especially since she had just passed by the Bai Mansion and seen that it was in tears, Bai Yiweng’s grave had also been dug up and taken back for a reorganized funeral.

She could understand that kind of agony; it was a feeling they had truly experienced.

"Hmm, I’m going upstairs to rest now."

"Okay."

Mrs. Si also followed upstairs to rest, when she saw Si Tiantian running toward Sang Qiao’s room with a teddy bear in her arms.

"Tiantian, are you going to your mom’s room?"

"Grandma, you’re back! I want to sleep with Mom," Si Tiantian turned back in response when called.

"Oh, is that so? Then, you aren’t sleeping with your dad?" Mrs. Si squinted her eyes, seemingly understanding why her son had initially been full of grievances.

Could it be because Tiantian was blocking her son’s wish to move back to his room?

"No, Daddy is too tall, it’s too cramped sleeping with him!" Si Tiantian firmly shook her head; she actually wasn’t used to sleeping with her dad, but she was afraid of hurting his feelings by saying that.

"...The bed is big," Si Chenli looked down at his daughter, who disapproved of him, feeling for the first time that she was a bit of a nuisance.

"Then I don’t want to sleep with you either; I want to sleep with Mom!" Si Tiantian spoke earnestly.

"Whatever," Si Chenli responded indifferently, his lips parting slightly. He didn’t really want to sleep with his daughter either.

Si Tiantian dashed away, carelessly closing the room door behind her.

Mrs. Si looked meaningfully at her son, "Winning back your wife involves not just wooing her but also pampering your daughter. If your daughter insists you sleep together too, moving back to the room simply makes sense."

Hearing this, Si Chenli’s face darkened, feeling uncomfortable as if exposed, "Mom, don’t speculate; I currently have no intention of moving back."

"Is that so? That’s best." Mrs. Si didn’t argue further and turned to head back to her room to rest.

She had realized that her two sons were stubborn; getting them to admit their true feelings was harder than reaching the sky.

Si Chenli felt uneasy under his mother’s gaze, as if his deepest thoughts had been laid bare.

Today, moving back to his room was clearly not an option, so he had to return to the guest room to rest, planning to find a suitable occasion to bring it up next time.

Inside Sang Qiao’s room,

Si Tiantian lay in her mom’s fragrant, soft bedding feeling very happy; she no longer wanted to sleep alone and thought about sleeping with her mom every day.

"Lie down; I’m turning off the light." Sang Qiao turned off the light and lay beside her daughter.

"Okay." Si Tiantian watched the room darken, lit only by a small lamp.

The next day, at sunrise, Si Tiantian still opted to go to the company with her dad.

Si Chenli didn’t evade it any longer. His mind even recalled his mother’s words from yesterday – to pamper his daughter and make her want to sleep with him, her dad, so he could naturally move back into Qiaoqiao’s room.

"Dad, can those aunties continue telling me the story from the day before yesterday?" Si Tiantian held her dad’s hand, earnestly pleading.

She was truly curious about the ending of the story she hadn’t yet heard.

"No, you’ll get scared; kids who get scared too often can become timid," Si Chenli looked down at his daughter, his tone serious.

"No, I’m not that scared, I’ll forget about it in a few days!" Si Tiantian patted her chest, promising.

"You’ve been sleeping with your mom for two nights, and you call that not very scared?" Si Chenli raised his eyebrows slightly and chuckled, then, stimulating his child’s desire to prove herself, he continued:

"Unless you can hear out the story and sleep on your own, only then can you prove you’re not very scared."
