Chapter 358: Chapter 358: Daughter insists on looking for her mother, Si Chenli: Is there such a thing?
"No, you’ll have to compensate me for this money first, or don’t even think about leaving!"
The female boss was not about to let him go easily and immediately stretched out her hand to block his way.
"And just how filthy your restaurant’s hygiene is, the chef picks his nose and never washes his hands—you want that to get out, go ahead and make a fuss."
At Sang Nanfeng’s words, the color drained from the female boss’s face. Even if this simple worker who only knew how to move stock had no evidence, having worked in her restaurant, customers would inevitably have their concerns.
Just thinking about her currently booming business, she knew such a scandal was something she absolutely couldn’t afford to have leaked.
"I’m warning you, you better not go around talking nonsense, or you’re going to regret it!"
"Settle my wages, and I won’t talk, since there’s no benefit in it for me."
Sang Nanfeng’s expression was calm. He wasn’t trying to extort more money; he simply wanted what was rightfully his.
"I’ll have the finance department sort it out and transfer it to you, now scram!" The female boss waved him off indifferently. It was just a matter of a thousand yuan—might as well just give it to him.
Better that than have him cause complications later on. Although this man seemed honest enough, there was no telling what he might do if pushed too far.
Sang Nanfeng turned and walked out, and as soon as he was out the door, he sent the photos he had taken over time to the relevant authorities to report the restaurant.
After doing all that, he put away his phone and, looking at the clouds in the sky, couldn’t help but sigh—out of a job again!

Si Group
Since Mr. Si Chenli had ordered them not to tell his little princess any horror stories, the office workers didn’t dare to say a word.
"Aunties, why aren’t you telling the story from yesterday? I haven’t heard the end of it."
Si Tiantian found the stories a few aunts were telling rather dull. She much preferred the kind from yesterday, even if it was a bit scary.
"Those kinds of stories aren’t really suitable for kids."
"I’m not a little kid anymore, I’m a big friend who can listen."
Si Tiantian wasn’t about to be dissuaded by their words. She wasn’t a fool anymore; she could clearly sense the change in the aunts.
Just yesterday, there was no "not suitable for children," and they were quite enthusiastic. But today, they suddenly refused to continue. Coupled with her father’s abnormal behavior that morning, she quickly guessed the reason.
"Is it my dad who told you not to tell me those stories?"
The several women were startled by how quickly Mr. Si’s child guessed the truth, and they felt a tingling on their scalps, worried Mr. Si might think they’d been the ones talking.
"No, you’re overthinking it. Tiantian, how about we tell you another story that’s even more interesting?"
"No thanks, I’m going to find my dad. Don’t worry, aunties, I won’t confront him."
Si Tiantian stood up huffily.
But she still remembered to consider the feelings of the aunts. Her dad was nothing like the father in her imagination—humph!
The words of Si Tiantian still didn’t reassure the women, who couldn’t help but marvel at how incredibly sharp this child was to have figured out the reason so quickly.
Si Chenli’s office
Si Tiantian burst straight in, as the door had never been closed to allow her to come and go, considering she was too small to push it open or even to knock loudly.
"Dad!"
"What is it?" Mr. Si Chenli didn’t look up; he simply continued with the paperwork in his hands.
"I’m bored. When are you finishing work? I don’t want to stay here anymore. I want to go find mom." Si Tiantian spoke petulantly.
She thought, if only dad pacifies her and she waits a bit longer, she could casually suggest wanting to hear a horror story, and he would probably agree for the sake of work.
Si Tiantian felt she was immensely clever, having learned this tactic from other children, though she hadn’t tried it on adults before.
Mr. Si Chenli’s pen paused at her words, and he glanced at her. "Are you sure?"
"Yes! I just don’t want to stay at your company anymore. You never play with me, unless..."
"Alright, I get it, just wait." Mr. Si Chenli didn’t let the little one finish, grabbing his phone from the desk and dialing Sang Qiao’s number.
The call connected quickly, and Mr. Si Chenli went straight to the point: "Qiaoqiao, are you at the company? Tiantian’s making a fuss about finding you. I’m about done with the contract here, so I’ll bring her over, and we can go home together."
From the screen, Sang Qiao’s voice held a hint of confusion, "I’m at the office. Are you sure Tiantian is making a fuss to find me?"
"Yeah, she said she doesn’t want to stay here anymore, asking me to take her to you."
"How about you hand her the phone, so I can ask her what’s up? She’s never made a fuss like this before—she’s usually very good."
"She’s fussing right now, and somebody is already coddling her; she might not be able to talk on the phone. She’s about to run out the door already. I’ll bring her over."
"Okay, then bring her here."
Mr. Si Chenli hung up the phone and couldn’t help but slightly curl his lips.
Si Tiantian witnessed her father’s deceit and her eyes widened, "I wasn’t fussing like you said. You’re slandering me."
"Didn’t you want to find your mom? Without exaggerating a little, how could I convince her?"
Mr. Si Chenli chuckled, not feeling the least uncomfortable about his fib. He gathered his documents from the desk, grabbed his phone and walked around to Tiantian.
Extending his hand, he signaled his daughter to grab it. "Come on, let’s go find Qiaoqiao."
Si Tiantian could only clasp her father’s hand, feeling things hadn’t gone as she had imagined. How could her father give in so easily?
But she had started the fuss, and now it didn’t seem right to back down.
They had just left the elevator when they bumped into the assistant who was about to head upstairs. "Mr. Si, where are you going? A collaborator is set to arrive soon; it was prearranged. Isn’t it inappropriate for you to leave just like this?"
"Delay that, or reschedule it for tomorrow; I have an emergency and need to leave now."
Mr. Si Chenli slightly frowned, not understanding why there was always so much to handle in the company all day every day.
"But it was prearranged; you can’t just cancel. If you stand them up, it might affect the Si Family’s reputation."
The assistant wanted to persuade him further, especially since the visitor belonged to the Shangguan Family. They had come from far away, and standing them up would likely cause an uproar.
Ever since Mr. Si had returned to the company facing down others, he seemed increasingly negligent of business matters.
"Dad, I won’t make a fuss anymore. You handle your meeting first. It’s wrong to stand someone up," Si Tiantian looked up at her father and gently coaxed him.
Her little milky voice was sweet, and she spoke with the earnestness of an adult soothing a child.
The assistant on the side inwardly marveled; this little girl was even more "sensible" than Mr. Si!
"Yeah, Mr. Si, you can just wait. They’ll be here in five minutes. The conversation won’t last more than half an hour; it won’t delay you much."
