Chapter 178: Chapter 178 Blindness

"Help!"

Christopher Weaver reluctantly gritted his teeth and spat out a word.

That evening, he took his wife, daughter, and Reese Renfrew to the psychiatric hospital in the suburbs.

Inside the hospital, the lights were dim, the hospital’s spacious courtyard was eerily quiet, with an inexplicable sense of gloom.

The hospital walls stood five meters high, surrounded by an electric fence, with armed military personnel guarding it outside.

Christopher Weaver frowned; this was more like a prison than a psychiatric hospital!

Reese Renfrew had been here twice and remained relatively calm. After handing over identification, she led Christopher Weaver and the others inside.

They had only taken a few steps when suddenly, several people leapt out from the flower bushes, frantically pouncing on them!

Ella Weaver screamed in fright, "Ghosts!"

Nurses and several soldiers rushed over, dragging the patients away. A doctor reassured them, "Don’t be afraid, they just look fierce, they don’t bite."

Ella Weaver, heart pounding, looked at her wrist, which had been scratched and was bleeding, thinking this doctor wasn’t quite normal either!

If she had known earlier, she wouldn’t have come!

Too terrifying!

As they followed the doctor up the hospital steps, suddenly a few more people emerged, crawling naked on the ground, baring their teeth and trying to bite their ankles.

The doctor quickly pulled out a few bone-shaped biscuits from his pocket and tossed them; the people were immediately lured away.

"It’s okay, they think they’re dogs, feeding them helps!"

Ella Weaver was already pale, trembling as she hid behind the equally pale Christopher Weaver.

So her cousin wasn’t the worst after all!

Inside the hospital, there were even more abnormal people, but most were locked up, not allowed to come out, otherwise the hospital would have a pile of corpses every day.

Alexander Parker was confined in the highest-level ward, for no other reason than his intelligence being too high; ordinary wards couldn’t hold him.

The door to the high-level ward wasn’t locked; the entire room was made of stainless steel, with a mechanical remote-control door that Alexander Parker couldn’t unlock.

Because Christopher Weaver had already made arrangements, the hospital opened the door and let them in.

Reese Renfrew burst into tears upon seeing her son, "Alexander!"

Alexander Parker, pale-faced, glanced at her, then turned his gaze back to the ceiling as if he didn’t recognize her.

Christopher Weaver nudged Ella Weaver, "Go talk to your cousin, persuade him to come home."

He believed that although this ward seemed impeccable, if Alexander Parker wanted to leave, with his exceptional intelligence, he could certainly do so.

Ella Weaver, with cold hands and feet, stepped forward, "Cousin, we’ve come to see you. Let’s go home!"

Due to her fear, her voice was not as sweet as usual and sounded somewhat like when Isabella spoke.

Alexander Parker suddenly stood up, grabbed Ella Weaver’s hand, and shouted, "Cousin!"

As soon as he spoke, Ella Weaver and the others realized he had mistaken her identity.

Except for Isabella, he would never treat anyone else with such gentleness and closeness.

Moreover, he always called Ella Weaver "Big Cousin," while "Cousin" was reserved for Isabella.

In the moment of everyone’s shock, Alexander Parker already shoved Ella Weaver’s fingers into his mouth, excitedly biting down.

"Ah!"

A scream suddenly erupted, echoing throughout the entire floor.

Those outside were hardly surprised; it’s extremely common here for patients to hit or bite people, some even hurt themselves fiercely!

Ella Weaver’s scream snapped Alexander Parker back to clarity; his excitement faded away, returning to a lifeless appearance: "You’re not Cousin."

Ella Weaver withdrew her bleeding hand, too shocked to look at the wound, she exclaimed, "Cousin, you can’t see?!"
