Chapter 73: Strange Dream Ends

The hero stepped into the throne room.

At the far end sat a towering black throne, veined with ominous red energy that pulsed like a beating heart — pure demonic grandeur.

And on it, lounging with one leg crossed over the other, was her — the Demon Queen, supreme ruler of the demon realm.

She was beautiful. Dangerously so.

Long, glossy black hair fell to her waist in waves, the strands shimmering as though lovingly shampooed daily with imported celestial oils.

She wore a sleek black dress with elegant silver trim, paired with thigh-high stockings that accentuated her flawless legs.

Her horns curved into a crown above her head — black obsidian edged with crimson glow, exuding regal menace and commanding presence.

Her body was tall, sculpted to perfection, the kind that made even archangels question their career choices. Her irises shimmered crimson-gold, and her smile carried a whisper of wicked charm.

A single nosebleed trickled from the hero’s nose.

"Sugoi pressure..." he whispered, clearly shaken — but not by fear.

(Heroic translation: "Amazing!")

"Nice to meet you, hero," the Demon Queen greeted smoothly, her voice low and teasing, like velvet laced with arsenic.

"It’s a pleasure to meet you too... Demon Queen," the hero replied, standing tall but internally wobbly.

"So, how are we doing this? You know my job is literally ’Demon Queen,’ right?" she said with a shrug.

"You don’t need to worry about that. I’m not jobless," the hero replied proudly, somehow that line felt very important to him.

"You see... my job is Tamer. And I now ride your former pet dragon to tour the continents. I didn’t slay him for that."

He stepped forward dramatically. "Defeating you would only destabilize the world further. So instead... I declare that I shall tame you!"

"...Excuse me?" the Demon Queen looked visibly confused.

"I have no choice," the hero said, acting as if fate itself had forced his hand.

She sighed. "I know you’re max level, and I’m... one level below max. So, realistically, I can only resort to a forbidden spell."

"Because your job is Demon Queen?" he guessed.

"Exactly."

She stood slowly from the throne, towering over most with commanding presence. The hero instinctively raised his sword.

"Activate Forbidden Spell."

The world froze.

Dark energy surged and then — BOOM — they were enclosed in a dome of pitch darkness, its walls humming with ancient demonic power.

Even the Demon Queen herself didn’t fully know what the spell did — only that it had been passed down by Demon Kings and Queens for generations to defeat the heroes... and never fully explained.

When light returned, they both opened their eyes.

And found themselves... in a room.

A small room.

A very small room.

At its center was a single, heart-shaped bed, with pink pillows and Kawaii plushies.

A floating sign hovered in the air with glowing instructions:

------------------------

[Unbreakable Room]

1. All powers are sealed.

2. No damage may be dealt to either party.

3. Exit will appear only after the fourth condition is satisfied.

4. Do snu-snu.

------------------------

The Demon Queen squinted. "What is... snu-snu?"

The hero was silent.

She turned to him, confused. "Do you know what that means?"

The hero took a breath, then approached her slowly. She tensed.

He stood just before her and narrowed his eyes.

"...You’re exactly 1.3657 cm taller than me," he muttered grimly.

"W-What?! H-Hero, what are you doing?!"

He said nothing. But inside, a storm brewed.

"Bakana...!", he said aloud in Japanese.

(Heroic translation: "Impossible!")

The hero clenched his fists. He had trained his willpower for years — but this was another level of hardship.

His gaze accidentally flicked down toward the black stockings.

He nearly lost his mind.

’Alas... I am truly defeated. This is a formidable foe indeed.’

But then — hope had arrived.

’Wait. My class is Tamer! That means I can still win!’

He paused. Then frowned.

’...But if I don’t get out of here, I won’t be able to marry the Seven Princesses and enjoy my slow life dream filled with...’, the last part was censored.

He looked back at the Demon Queen. Her flawless features. Her shimmering hair. The way her brows were pinched in confused frustration.

He decided being a hero, he would explain this to her.

He approached, placed both hands gently on her shoulders, and looked her in the eye.

"That was a really nasty spell," he said, giving her a serious look.

"W-What is it?" she blinked, nervous at his sudden shift in tone.

"We’ve lost our powers. But to get out of this hell-hole... we must combine our strength."

She turned her head, surveying the room again.

"...There’s only a heart-shaped bed."

"Exactly."

"And what does snu-snu mean?" she asked, eyes wide.

The hero sighed. Stared into her eyes. For a moment, they both forgot everything else.

He tightened his grip on her shoulders and said firmly, "Only you can help me now. Are you willing?"

The Demon Queen was stunned by his serious face and tone, her cheeks glowing faintly red, she looked away for a moment... then nodded slowly.

"I... I am" she said.

The hero closed his eyes, ready to break the news gently.

He sighed again. The hardest part was about to begin — explaining what "snu-snu" meant.

And when he opened his eyes to explain her, Yu Xuan suddenly woke up in bed.

He gasped, sat up, and shouted to the heavens:

"NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO—!!!"

In fact, his shout was so loud — so loud — that if he’d shouted like that in a market, even the most stubborn vendors would’ve handed him discounts on the spot.

Unfortunately, there were no merchants here.

Only birds.

And those birds, peacefully fluttering around the trees outside his small residence, made a collective decision: they would visit this place less often.

Loud places were for cities, not serene peaks.

Yu Xuan let out a long sigh and stared up at the ceiling with moist eyes.

"...Why can’t it ever end a little later?" he muttered, voice full of heartbreak.

Truly, the greatest enemies of men were not dragons, demons, wicked tyrants or evil spirits...

They were dreams.

Dreams that end just before the good part.
