Chapter 60: fuck buddies

The game hunt soon began and each and everyone was assigned a partner. Unfortunately, Patricia didn’t get to see her best friend before the hunt started, but Syres told her she was partnered with the Orlandos’ first son. Prior to the game hunt, Roman gave her an update of the names of the families on board. They included: The Blackthorns, The Carters, The Orlandos, The Graymoors, The Thornwells, and the Iron Hart.

Having to memorize their names one by one was beyond her, but if she remembered clearly, the first son of the Orlandos looked like a decent man.

"She would be fine," Syres assured, jolting her out of her thoughts as he stretched out his hands for her to retrieve.

Looking down at his hands, she shook her head and helped herself cross over a fallen tree, ignoring him like he wasn’t with her.

"For how long will you ignore me?" Syres asked, smiling as he picked up her pace.

"For as long as we are on that yacht. If you won’t stay away, I will stay away myself," Patricia responded, not even as much as glancing back at him. Syres held her back by grabbing her wrist, and she struggled to free herself from him, but he was too strong for her, so she turned to face him with a glare.

"Do you really think Roman loves you just because he is acting like it now?" Syres inquired, and though she was curious as to what he meant, she decided not to fall for Syres’s words. She knew she could not trust Roman, but if not trusting Roman meant she had to trust Syres, then she would rather not trust both.

Clearly, Syres approached her because of his past with Roman. Nothing good would come out of involving herself with him.

"What about you? What is your reason for approaching me? Is it truly about making me yours or is there a hidden intention behind it, a past between you and Roman?" Fed up, she turned her body to face him properly and inquired, and she saw it...that hesitation in his gaze.

"I didn’t approach you to harm you, you can know that," Syres responded, and she scoffed.

"If so, then I believe every word and action from Roman. That’s only fair," she said and then yanked her wrist off his grip, walking away.

Watching her leave, a grin came to his face, and somehow, a new idea came to his mind. She mentioned a past between him and Roman...seems like she knew something. He was not planning to use that before, but now that she already knew something, it wouldn’t hurt to divulge the whole thing.

Some steps away from Syres and Patricia on the same island, Silas quietly trailed behind Zara, watching her every move. He traded his position with Cornell, the Orlandos’ first son, which cost him a lot. Unexpectedly, Zara had managed to entice some of the men on the yacht, so they were aching for a chance to speak with her.

It infuriated him, and it was one of the reasons he bought the spot... the main reason to be honest.

"When will you stop stalking me? Are we doing this together or what?" Zara, who became tired of having someone watch her, spoke, halting and raising her hands in the air in a frustrated manner.

"I am not stalking you, I am watching you." Coming out of the shadows, Silas corrected and came to stand beside her, causing her to turn to face him, her expression annoyed.

"It is the same thing if you are doing it secretly. Why are you here instead of Cornell?" She inquired, turning to face him fully.

"I switched sides. I can’t leave you alone with him, not until I am sure you won’t do anything stupid," he responded, causing her to scoff, a mischievous smile coming to her face.

"Or you just don’t like the idea of me being with other men? Admit it," she teased, leaning forward, bringing their faces so close he could already feel his body reacting to their closeness. Anyone that saw her a night ago would think she was a serious person, not knowing there were so many dirty tricks up her sleeves. He should have remembered who exactly he was worried about, the queen of seduction.

"It is nothing like that. Stop getting ahead of yourself," he responded and began walking away, causing her to follow after him.

"You can tell yourself that, but I know how men think, and I am damn well sure this is your insecurities coming out," she said, meeting his pace, and he halted, turning to face her, which had her raising her eyebrows questioningly.

"You think you are so attractive that you can easily get any man?" He said, and she smiled in a naughty manner.

Taking some steps forward, she began approaching, halting only when she was just a step away from him, her head leaning backward to meet his gaze.

She started, "I do not think, I know I am. Tell me you do not crave what we had yesterday? Tell me you do not think about it every now and then? Tell me..." then stopped and stared intensely at him, adding, "You are able to resist my advances?"

Silas felt every part of himself on fire just by the intensity of her fire, his mind drifting off to the steamy time they had yesterday. Truly, he desired her, wanted her, but that was only because it involved sex, it was nothing more than that.

Suddenly, she seized his lips, taking him off guard, but instead of refusing her advances this time, he took over and brought her closer to him, bending her head slightly to grant him more access to her lips.

"Hmm," Patricia moaned into his mouth when he deepened the kiss, her hand reaching for his manhood, causing him to withdraw his lips and hold down her hand, instructing, "Stop!" And then looking around to see if anyone was nearby.

"Relax. We are the only ones here, and does it matter if we are seen together? It is not like we are kids, we are both adults," she said, leaning forward to seize his lips, but he moved back instead, keeping some distance between them, which had her annoyed, scoffing in disbelief.

"Now you are afraid of people’s opinions, huh?" She said, shaking her head at how hilarious he looked at the moment.

"Not everyone cares less about others like you. Being seen together could bring a lot of trouble for me," he responded, and she laughed out loud.

"Oh right. I forgot I am not one of those noble ladies that fit you. But I am glad I don’t have to stick to rules and marry someone I do not love," she answered, sighing along and walking away.

"Have you ever tried to love someone?" He inquired, meeting her pace, and she just snorted, hitting him lightly as the laughter hit her.

"Did you just say, love someone? That’s bullshit! It would be really exhausting if I came across as a type that fancies love," she said, her laughter growing.

"No, you don’t, but you can try to give someone a chance," he said, and she turned to face him, asking, "Who? You? Listen, lover boy, life is not all sweet and rosy. Some of us grew up without love, and we have learned to live without it. I have gone past that phase to start loving someone. All I need now is a man that can catch up with me in bed." Then she halted and winked at him, continuing to walk again.

"Is that why you refuse to let me touch you anywhere else but your core?" He asked, and she stopped walking, her expression changing to that of an angry one.

"You think you know shit about me just because you had sex with me one time?" She countered, her tone cold and sharp.

"No, I do not know anything about you, and I care less. But I would be forced to care if you keep getting involved in my life. I have already told you I am not one of those men you pay. I am fully aware of my actions and need answers to things that bother me," he responded, causing her to scoff, this time not in amusement but in annoyance.

"Here we go again," she said, rolling her eyes dramatically before continuing, "You can’t always get the answers to everything that bothers you, Sherlock. Some things are best left unknown. I cannot give you answers, but I can give you a very good fuck... fucks for as long as you want it."

"I do not just want fucks. I want to feel every part of the sex," he said, and she exhaled deeply, dropping her hand on his shoulder.

"Listen. We both want to satisfy our desire, right? Of what need is emotions when we could just be casually fuck buddies? No strings attached. You can have a girlfriend if you want, and I can have mine too. If you want to get married, go ahead. If you need a side piece, I would be there for you," she rattled, as if trying to reason with him.

"Is that what we are to you? Fuck buddies?" He inquired.

"What else could we be?" She responded.
