Chapter 301: YOU ARE CHEATING

As the night descended upon them, Julian gently helped Astrid into the bathtub, his hands cradling her fragile body with care.

The warm water enveloped her, soothing her aching muscles and calming her frazzled nerves.

Julian’s eyes never left hers, his gaze filled with concern and adoration, the afternoon event still was on his mind.

As he bathed her, Astrid felt a sense of relief wash over her. The past few days had been a blur of pain and medication, and she was grateful for Julian’s tender care.

She leaned back against the tub, letting out a soft sigh as Julian’s hands massaged her shoulders.

Once the bath was finished, Julian carefully lifted Astrid out of the tub and wrapped her in a plush towel.

He carried her to the bed, gently laying her down on the soft sheets, like always helping her choose lingerie and like she would always want.

Astrid felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her, Julian helped her cover up with a blanket, his eyes locked on hers.

"I’ll be right back, okay?" he said, his voice soft, placing a kiss on her forehead, "I need to take this call."

Astrid nodded, watching as Julian walked out of the room. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the pain she knew was to come.

Slowly, she pulled off the blanket and swung her legs over the side of the bed, wincing as her weight bore down on her injured leg.

Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she tried to stand, but her leg buckled beneath her.

Astrid cried out in pain and frustration, feeling a wave of despair wash over her.

Just as she was about to give up, Julian dashed back into the room, rushing toward her with a look of concern etched on his face.

"Astrid, what happened?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.

Astrid felt embarrassed seeing him walk in on her like that, but Julian’s gentle tone put her at ease. "I tried to walk," she answered casually.

Julian’s eyes filled with understanding, and he carefully picked her up, placing her back on the bed. "Let me help you," he said, his hands gently massaging her leg.

As Julian’s hands touched her skin, Astrid felt a spark of desire ignite within her.

She leaned in closer to him, her eyes locked on his with a small smile. Julian’s eyes never left hers, and she kissed him, Julian tried to pull her back but she wrapped her hands around his neck stopping him, having no choice he deepened the kiss.

Astrid felt herself getting lost in the moment, her pain and frustration forgotten.

But just as things were starting to heat up, Julian pushed her back. "Astrid, you need to rest," he let out.

"Why?" she asked, her voice petulant.

Julian sighed, his eyes filled with concern. "You’re still recovering, Astrid. You need to take it easy."

Astrid felt a pang of sadness and insecurity. She knew that Julian was right, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that he was rejecting her.

He helped her lay on the bed again, and Julian’s phone rang again. Astrid’s eyes snapped open, and she stared at Julian accusingly.

"You’re going to receive that call again, aren’t you?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion.

Julian looked at her, his eyes furrowed in concern. "Astrid, why do I feel you are suspecting me for cheating?"

"You’re always receiving mysterious calls these days, Julian. You’re always leaving me to take them. What’s going on?"

Julian sighed, his eyes dropping to the floor. "Astrid, I..."

But Astrid cut him off, her voice rising. "Just tell me the truth, Julian. Are you cheating on me now because I am not capable of walking?"

Julian’s eyes snapped up to hers, and he shook his head. "Astrid, no. I would never cheat on you. You’re the only woman I want."

Astrid felt a wave of relief wash over her, but she was still angry. "Then why do you always receive these mysterious calls? Why do you always leave me to take them?"

Julian took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Astrid’s. "I’ll tell you, Astrid. I promise. But you have to trust me."

Astrid’s eyes narrowed, her hands snapping away from Julian’s as he tried to touch her. "What about Mattie? You loved her also."

Julian took in a deep breath, he knows never to argue with her when it comes to Mattie. The last time he did, she ended up this way. And this wouldn’t even be the time he gets mad at her, aware of her current temperament.

Julian’s expression was calm, he watched how she struggled to sit and he tried helping but again she slapped his hands away

"I can do it myself! Cheater," she mumbled against her breath, Julian snickered and she glared at him.

He raised his hands sliding her rough hair off her face, as he gently caressed her face.

She was about to slap his hand but he grabbed it with the other, "It’s just work, Astrid," he said, his voice smooth. "I don’t want to bore you with the details."

Astrid’s smirk was skeptical. "I have been with you for over a year now, Julian," she said, her voice laced with amusement. "I know when you’re lying. And right now, you’re lying to me."

Julian’s sigh was deep, his eyes locking onto Astrid’s as he pulled her closer about roughly. Astrid winced in pain, but Julian’s grip was gentle.

"Guess you don’t want to be considered right," he said, his voice low.

Astrid’s eyes scanned Julian’s face as he leaned in closer, curious what he meant. "Then I don’t care... if making it rough with you, would make you understand I don’t have another lady aside you then so be it."

His lips locked onto hers, and he bit her lip making her wince, "If you don’t try to understand," Julian whispered, his breath hot against Astrid’s skin as he went lower, placing bites on her collarbone, "then I won’t either."

Astrid’s eyes fluttered closed, her body arching into Julian’s as he deepened the kiss again. The room around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the moment.

Julian’s hands roamed over Astrid’s body, his touch sending shivers down her spine. Astrid’s own hands moved in sync with his, her fingers digging into Julian’s hair as she pulled him closer.

They collapsed onto the bed, their bodies tangled together as they lost themselves in the moment. The world outside receded, leaving only the two of them, lost in a sea of passion and desire.
