Chapter 298: ABDUCTED
Chapter 298: ABDUCTED
Astrid tried calling Julian, but she thought it would be useless. Instead, she picked up her microchip, placing it in her clothes, hoping that Julian would be able to track her location if she was abducted.
Just as she was about to pick up her phone, a loud sound came from the door, making her scream in shock. Followed by blood splashing on her face, she froze and stared at Larry, who was bleeding nonstop, his eyes fixed on hers.
"La... Larry.." she mumbled, now aware that he had been shot.
"Ma...am..." he stuttered, his voice weak. "No matter what...don’t come out..." He let out a groan of pain, as he placed his hands on his side... "I have sent a live location to my boss, he will be here in no time."
Astrid’s eyes filled with tears as she grabbed Larry, shaking her head.
"You’re bleeding...you might die if you go out," she said, her voice trembling. "I will go out by myself...as long as you can live."
Larry groaned in pain, trying to refuse, but Astrid pleaded with him to live for her. "Nothing will happen to me...Julian will find me," she said, her voice filled with conviction.
Despite Larry’s protests, Astrid walked alighted from the car.
As she stepped out, she was met with the men who had attacked them. "You.." she mumbled in shock, recognizing him. He was the guy she had seen at the construction site, grinning at her.
"Well... Well... Well... isn’t it nice to see you again?"
It was then that she realized he was one of the men who had almost molested her in Paris.
She groaned, trying to step back, but the man kicked her in the abdomen, making her double over in pain.
Her hands trembled as another man lifted her from the ground. "Let’s see how he will save you now," she heard one of the men sneer.
Astrid was thrown into the car, her head spinning. She saw the men running towards Larry’s car, throwing something in it, and after some seconds right in front of her eyes.
The car explodes in a ball of flames, and their car drives off.
As the car sped away, Astrid’s mind was racing with fear. She knew that Julian would do everything in his power to save her, but she also knew that she was in grave danger.
The men who had abducted her were ruthless, and they would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.
Astrid’s only hope was that Julian would find her before it was too late. She closed her eyes, praying that he would come for her soon.
Meanwhile, Jain had just received Larry’s live location, but it had stopped suddenly.
He knew that something was wrong, and he was getting more and more desperate by the minute.
"Find her," Julian growled, his eyes fixed on the screen in front of him. "I don’t care what it takes. Just find her."
Julian’s car screeched to a halt as he arrived at the location. His heart sank as he saw the car being blown up, and flames engulfing the vehicle.
Fear gripped him, and he dashed towards the car, his men rushing in to put out the fire.
As they turned off the flames, they noticed Larry, his body bloodied and bruised and unconscious.
Julian’s men quickly pulled him out of the car, luckily he still had a pulse so they quickly rushed him to the hospital. Julian was left standing alone, his mind reeling with thoughts of Astrid.
He felt helpless, frustrated, and angry. He didn’t know what to do, or where to start looking for Astrid. His eyes scanned the area, searching for any clue, any hint of what might have happened.
That’s when he noticed the CCTV camera, its lens shattered but still intact.
Julian’s eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He quickly called Ryan, who appeared behind him, phone in hand.
Like Ryan already understood he pulled out his tab, "I already reached out to the men, to hack the camera this is what we got." Julian snatched the Tab from him staring into the screen.
"This is the face of the people who abducted her," Ryan said, his voice firm. "I managed to enhance the footage from the nearby cameras."
He noticed the plate number of the car, and his eyes locked onto it. "Ryan, follow up on this plate number," Julian said, his voice firm. "I want to know where that car is, and who’s behind this."
Ryan bowed, his eyes serious. "On it, sir."
Just then, a swarm of police cars arrived, sirens blaring. Zach, Miles, and Donald jumped out of their cars, rushing towards Julian.
Donald’s face was etched with worry, his eyes scanning the area. "Where’s my granddaughter?" he asked, his voice trembling.
Zach tried to calm him down, but Donald was having none of it. "I want to know what’s going on," he let out worriedly.
Julian’s eyes locked onto Donald’s, his expression grim. "Astrid’s been abducted," he answered "I am doing everything I can to find her."
Donald’s face crumpled, his eyes filling with tears. Julian knew he had to do something, to find Astrid and bring her back to her family.
He remembered Astrid telling him that Mattie knew something about the abduction. Julian’s eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities.
"Julian... what are the next possibilities who..." Julian walked off leaving Donald standing there speechless, he got into his car and sped out of the scene, leaving the chaos behind.
He didn’t care about the police, or the media, or anything else. All he cared about was finding Astrid.
He arrived at the police station, his tires screeching to a halt. He jumped out of the car, rushing into the station. The moment he stepped inside, everyone fell silent, their eyes fixed on him.
Julian’s eyes scanned the room, searching for Mattie. " I want to see Mattie?" he growled.
"Welcome, Mr. Logan we will bring her to you soon." one of the officers announced gesturing for him to follow him to the hallway.
Julian’s eyes narrowed, his fists clenched. He strode down the hallway, his heart pounding in his chest.
As he turned the corner, he saw Mattie standing in front of him, a smirk on her face. With two cops beside her:
She laughed out loud, the sound echoing down the hallway.
Julian’s eyes locked onto hers, his expression grim. "You know something about Astrid’s abduction," Julaim stated, hitting the nail on the rod, "Excuse me?"
Julian turned to the cops, gesturing for them to leave them both. The moment they left.
"How could you accuse me of such a thing?" she tried to say, but her words were cut off by Julian’s grip as his fist wrapped around her neck choking her.
"You shouldn’t forget that I am Julian," he hissed, "I haven’t played any games with you because you’re a lady, and I thought Astrid was handling you. But if you mess with me, I’ll release you and make sure to pass judgment on you myself. You shouldn’t forget that."
He let her go, and Mattie fell to the ground, gasping for breath. She looked up at Julian in shock, her eyes wide with fear.
Julian leaned forward, "Do you want to speak, or do you want to test my patience?" he asked again.
"Who the heck abducted Astrid, and where is she?"
Mattie’s eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I won’t say anything until I see the report."
Julian let out a cold deep chuckle, "Fine," then he called back. He, one of the cops waiting not too far from them, rushed in immediately.
"Release her, there’s something to discuss," Julian said, his voice firm.
Mattie’s eyes widened in shock as the cop returned with a file immediately.
"How can you release me like that?" she asked, her voice trembling. "You need to follow protocol."
Julian’s face darkened, He flipped the table by his side, making Mattie shift back in fear. "One word from you which I don’t want and you might regret my next action."
Then he turned to the cop "Do what I say, or you lose your job," he yelled at the cop.
Julian turned to Mattie, his eyes gleaming with anger. "I am the law," he hissed, "Have you forgotten how I work? You’re not ready to talk, so I will teach you some lessons."
Mattie was so scared, she had never seen Julian this brutal. She fell to her knees, begging for mercy.
"Please, Julian, don’t hurt me," she pleaded, her voice trembling, but he ignored her and turned to leave.
"I will talk, Julian! I will say everything I know!" she yelled, making him halt his steps.
Mattie took a deep breath, her eyes fixed on Julian’s. "I don’t know much about the man," she answered
"He’s one of the men who molested Astrid in Paris." Julian’s eyes narrowed, in realization.
"He wanted revenge for what you did to him," Mattie continued. "His brother died when he was in prison, and he wanted to kill Astrid in return, but you butt in, and he wasn’t ready to let Astrid go."
Julian’s eyes flashed with anger, his fists clenched. "How can I reach out to them?" he asked.
Mattie shook her head, her eyes fixed on Julian’s. "I don’t know, he’s mysterious, and could hardly be seen. Only Stephan knows much about them."
Julian nodded his head, as he turned back to the cops, "Make sure she goes through a series of torture before I get back," Julian instructed walking out of the cells.
"No, Julian, please don’t do this, I told you everything I know! Please, I am sick!" Mattie cried out
But Julian just walked out of the station, leaving Mattie to her fate.
